1

Agreement of Lyon

Foreword 1.

We, leaders of the European Junior Enterprise Network, meeting in Lyon for the Junior Enterprise World Conference, from the 26th to the 29th July, 2018, have decided to increase our collaboration.

2.

On behalf of our Junior Enterprises and Junior Entrepreneurs, we are taking the lead towards a Network-focused agenda that enhances our common results.

3.

We are committed to achieve this ambitious agenda, putting all our efforts, resources, as well as articulating our own national and local goals, to better serve the Network Strategy.

4.

We believe in synergy as key, under the motto ‘Together We Grow’.

5.

We acknowledge and reinforce the value of the conclusions taken, its extensive consultation methodology and the final outcomes coming from the Network Strategy.

A vision for the future 6.

We embody a clear statement of purpose in all our activities, at all levels: to empower, through the Junior Enterprise concept, students capable and committed to generate a relevant impact.

7.

We believe our impact spreads to three main dimensions: academia, business world and society.

8.

As we embark in this collective journey, we embrace shared values – Together We Grow, Entrepreneurial Mindset, Meaningful Results and Driven Attitude. These convictions represent the foundations of our common identity, which shall allow us to reach new heights.

9.

We acknowledge our articulated roles, understanding their individual contribution towards the same direction we want to pursue.

10.

We are committed to achieve in the next 3-year strategic cycle a common vision: We are 500 Junior Enterprises, growing together, delivering 5,750 added value projects, of which 300 in collaboration.

Our shared commitments 11.

We reaffirm the outcomes from the Network Strategy, translated in three main priorities and eight strategic goals. We endorse the eight strategic

goals defined as an ambitious but necessary agenda.

12.

Goal 1 \ Enlarge the Junior Enterprise concept in a sustainable way – we commit ourselves towards sustainable enlargement activities, in our countries and countries outside the Network. We strongly believe it is our duty to give the Junior Enterprise experience to more students in Europe. Our impact and results is also a matter of scale.

13.

Goal 2 \ Ensure the quality of our Junior Enterprises and their alignment to the Junior Enterprise concept – we commit ourselves towards having quality

practices at the local and national levels, ensuring a stronger and more credible Network. Our growth strategies are based on strong pillars of quality.

14.

Goal 3 \ Enhance the best practices exchange and foster synergies in the Network – we commit ourselves to providing an inclusive and collaborative environment that creates connections, maximizing our common results. We believe it is our duty to bring our Network together.

16.

Goal 5 \ Align the governance of the Network, maximizing our added value – we commit ourselves to improving our decision-making mechanisms and

the way we work together, as JADE Members, to enhance the value we bring to the Network. Our structure should be agile and adapted to the fast-moving context we live in.

17.

Goal 6 \ Increase JE visibility towards the market, to acquire more project opportunities – we commit ourselves to reinforcing our position in our local, national and European markets, generating more project opportunities to our Junior Enterprises. We see projects with external clients our way to develop university students, their knowledge and competencies.

A roadmap to succeed 20.

We look up to the implementation, carefully following what was defined, adjusting the assumption to the reality of our own countries.

21.

We recognize that each country has a primary responsibility for its own activities, which should from the 1st of January 2019, be articulated with the assumptions from the Network Strategy.

22.

We will mobilize means of cooperation and data collection to oversee the

strategy and ensure its effective and thorough implementation. Our data will be shared with JADE and our peer Confederations and Consultative Members – as a natural sign of our constant cooperation.

23.

We assume the need for further adjustments and reviews in the document, updating it to the success of its actions and merits of its indicators, however, always preserving its core philosophy and the shared vision for our future. Our decisions are based on data, under a result and solution-perspective.

A call to action 24.

We embowed the Network Strategy guidelines as core of our additional

strategies and assume our duty to make it clear and reachable by all our Junior Entrepreneurs, Junior Enterprises, National Confederations and JADE.

25.

Further actions and initiatives are welcome to complement and fully implement the assumptions of the Network Strategy, at the local, national and European levels. JADE will support and co-promote such activities with its Junior Enterprises and National Confederations.

26.

We promote/foster the dissemination of this Agreement and its content.

27.

We shall involve external partners and key stakeholders in the implementation and realization of the Network Strategy. Only together we will succeed.
