A Junior Enterprise is the way to empower university students

A Junior Enterprise is a non-profit organization, formed and managed exclusively by students of higher education, which provides services for companies, institutions and society, under the guidance of teachers and professionals with the goal of consolidating and enhancing the learning of their members. Junior Enterprises are similar to real companies, counting with the principles of corporate governance like management council and executive board, and own regulation.

Being part of JADE Executive Board was a life changing experience and a decision I will never regret. As President of JADE, I had the opportunity to work with a team of around 14 people and 7 nationalities. We represented our network in front of high level representatives of the business and we met Junior Entrepreneurs from all over the world. JADE is a skills accelerator – the best accelerator for your most important business – YOU. Even today, I discover more and more skills developed in JADE, which help me in toughest situations. I can surely say it was my most intense and true team working experience and it was unforgettable.

Marion Depouilly JADE Vice President 2016 \ France

My experience in JADE shaped my life both professionally and personally. I was able to take my JE experience to a brand new level, to make an impact for the network, and work for a cause I believe in. JADE challenged me in many ways, pushed my boundaries, develop new skills. I met

fellow Junior Entrepreneurs from all over the world, who I can now call my friends. I was able

to travel more in a year than all the rest of my life, to experience cultures at their best. JADE changed me as a person in a way no other experience did, and I believe I still did not realize the full impact of it.

Living in Brussels WHERE TO WORK AND LIVE

©JADE – European Confederation of Junior Enterprises \ jadenet.org

Living in Brussels, in JADE house Brussels is an old European city with lovely parks and secret little streets. You can find a wide variety of cultural activities and many international people. The HQ in Brussels, the capital of Europe, helps JADE to be closer to the European Institutions and some other international Headquarters of companies, which support our Network. The geographic location makes travelling around Europe really convenient. During the ExBo term of service (1st August 2019 – 31st July 2020), the elected members move to JADE HQ in Brussels, Belgium. JADE HQ recently moved to a new house. On the ground floor there is the office and the kitchen. On the first floor there are 4 personal rooms for the ExBo members (in case of a 5 people ExBo, one room will be shared). On the last floor there is a big room where the Brussels-based Managers live.

©JADE – European Confederation of Junior Enterprises \ jadenet.org

Living the #JADElife in Brussels The work of JADE Executive Board is voluntary and unpaid. However, the ExBo members do not have to pay from their personal money for: > Accommodation and utilities in JADE HQ; > Daily food; > Fees and transport to attend international and national events; > Other expenses straightly related to JADE projects.

ŠJADE – European Confederation of Junior Enterprises \ jadenet.org

How to finance this experience? Your activities in JADE are recognized as an internship abroad and in many countries you can apply therefore for different grants, e.g. Erasmus+. You can find more information on the official Erasmus+ website: http://ec.europa.eu/education/opportunities/highereducation/study-mobility_en.html
