Empire City Concept

The concept takes its inspiration from the natural beauty and wonder of the limestone formations in the World Heritage site of Halong Bay. The elegant vertical towering pillars are embraced by green landscape and planting, with habitable spaces and natural growth between them. Inspired by the columns surrounded by water, our tower adjacency to the river echoes the natural heritage landscape. For our design, we will shape the tops in a unique way, as well as join them towers together with building mass and podiums, connecting them much like the connected limestone shapes.

Empire City Tower Facade _ Concept

The design frames views from the tower in vertical openings that are two-stories tall, slipped vertically creating a dynamic and active facade. The tall layered appearance was inspired by vertical screens with their simple bays and frames stacking upwards. The overall effect is of assemblage and connected homes creating a unique and glittering, shimmering facade The movement and relief creates shadow and vitality, a creative and dynamic architecture. 58

Euro American Financial City 2 _ Schematic Design Three Unique Experiences

Euro American Financial City 2 is a mixed-use development in a new district of Hangzhou City. Complete with an office tower, a creative office, a hotel, and several retail functions, this project is situated in the core of an emerging region of Hangzhou City that is developed for hi-tech industries. Within this context, three visions are established; grandeur, uniqueness, and happiness. To differentiate this mixed-use development from many surrounding typical spec-offices, these visions are established to create a new vibrant community for an innovative technology ecosystem. To achieve these three visions, the design team envisioned three unique experiences. The first of which is an open community courtyard generated by the internal gesture of the two buildings. Another feature is the introduction of tiered outdoor terracing to the office floors. Lastly, the experience of a grand arriving/collaborative stair unites the ground-floor lobby to the coworking functions above. The large central courtyard is where diversity and integration co-exist and provide both excitement and a vibrant synergy with natural and cultural experiences along with community programs. In addition to the courtyard, the buildings cascade with tiered terraces to provide distinctive connections between different programs and occupants. This creates unique and open outdoor workplaces suitable for innovative tech incubators. The buildings and landscape are integrated through continuous green spaces that flow from the central courtyard vertically into the green terraces. Upon arrival of the office tower, a grand seating stair not only leads users and visitors alike up into the creative offices, but also becomes a place for collaboration and a key feature to showcase innovation. Within the high density of this new district, EFC2 will become a new urban oasis and a highly unique open-community experience.
