Paleis Noordeinde Al vier eeuwen is Den Haag de woon- en werkplaats van de Oranjes. Die lange vorstelijke historie is overal tastbaar aanwezig. Noordeinde Palace

Panorama Mesdag Kijk 360º in het rond en onderga de illusie van het panorama van Scheveningen uit 1881. Het vergezicht op de zee, de duinen en het vissersdorp is geschilderd door H.W. Mesdag. Het uitzicht is er nooit hetzelfde, de lichtval is er meer dan prachtig en van minuut tot minuut wisselend. Een uniek cultuurhistorisch monument.

Gemeentemuseum Den Haag Een unieke collectie schilderijen van Piet Mondriaan, een fraaie zilvercollectie en minutieus gedecoreerd Delfts Blauw. Filmhuis Den Haag shows films that you don't often see in 'normal' cinemas. Pathé has a number of locations throughout the city: on Buitenhof, on Spui and in Scheveningen. Picasso at Sea

De grote overzichtstentoonstelling 'Picasso aan Zee, keramiek en sculptuur' geeft een zinnenprikkelend beeld van de periode die Pablo Picasso na de oorlog oorbracht aan de Franse Rivièra. Beelden aan Zee, het enige Nederlandse museum compleet gewijd aan beeldhouwkunst, presenteert in deze tentoonstelling topstukken uit museale en particuliere collecties. Sommige hiervan zijn zelden of nooit eerder in Nederland getoond.

The exhibition 'Picasso at Sea. Ceramics and sculpture' provides a tantalising overview of the period that Pablo Picasso spent on the French Riviera after the war. Beelden aan Zee, the only Dutch museum entirely devoted to sculpture, presents ceramic and sculpture masterpieces from museum and private collections in this major exhibition. Some of the pieces have rarely or never been exhibited to the public in the Netherlands.

Dining with the artist - from still life till food design is inspired by the artistic oeuvre of Sientje Mesdag-Van Houten (1834-1909), wife of the Dutch painter H.W. Mesdag. Hoewel het nu bijna vergeten oases van rust zijn in de drukke binnenstad woonde een kwart van de Haagse bevolking 150 jaar geleden nog in een hofje. Openbaar vervoer in Den Haag en omgeving

Den Haag beschikt over uitstekend openbaar vervoer. Een groot aantal bus- en tramlijnen (zie pag. 96-97) brengt je naar je bestemming in Den Haag, Voorburg, Delft, Rijswijk, Wateringen, Nootdorp, Leidschendam en Zoetermeer.

Kaartjes kopen en informatie Bij de HTM Servicepunten op de stations Den Haag Centraal en Hollands Spoor kun je geld op je OV-chipkaart zetten, OV-chipkaarten en losse kaartjes kopen. In de tram of bus kun je een Uurnetkaart (€ 3,50) of dagkaart (€ 6,50) kopen. Bij de HTM Servicepunten krijg je ook informatie over de routes van de tram- en buslijnen en de bereikbaarheid van hotspots. OV-chipkaarten en losse kaartjes zijn ook te koop bij VVV Den Haag (Spui 68).

OV-chipkaart Om te kunnen reizen met een OVchipkaart moet je voldoende geld (saldo) op je OV-chipkaart zetten. Daarna check je in en uit bij de kaartlezers in tram of bus. Dagkaart (€ 6,50 – € 2,50) Met een dagkaart reis je de hele dag op alle tram- en buslijnen (HTM en HTMbuzz) in Den Haag en omgeving (€ 6,50). Voor kinderen (411 jaar) koop je bij een HTM Servicepunt of bij de VVV voordelig een Kinder Dagkaart (€ 2,50). Ben je langer in Den Haag? Koop dan de 3-dagenkaart voor € 16,50. Tourist Day Ticket (€ 13,50) Wil je in heel Zuid-Holland reizen? Koop dan het Tourist Day Ticket en reis met alle trams, bussen, metro's en waterbus in Zuid-Holland. Van de historische centra van Delft, Dordrecht, Leiden en Gouda, naar de stranden van Den Haag en naar Kinderdijk. Nachtnet Op vrijdag- en zaterdagnacht rijdt de HTM Nachtbuzz. Many bus and tram lines (see pages 96-97) take you to your destination in The Hague, Voorburg, Delft, Rijswijk, Wateringen, Nootdorp, Leidschendam and Zoetermeer. OV chip card In order to be able to travel on Dutch public transport using an OV-chip card you need to top up your card with sufficient funds. Afterwards you can check in and out using the card readers in trams and buses. Day ticket (€ 6.50 - € 2.50) A day ticket entitles you to travel in The Hague and surrounding zone (€ 6.50). For children (aged

4-11) you can purchase a Railrunner Child Day Ticket from an HTM Service Point or VVV for € 2.50. Will you be staying in The Hague for longer? Then buy the 3-day ticket for € 16.50. Tourist Day Ticket (€ 13.50) Would you like to travel throughout the South Holland region? Then purchase the Tourist Day Ticket and enjoy unlimited travel by tram, bus, metro and waterbus. Travel from the historical centres of Delft, Dordrecht, Leiden and Gouda to the beaches of The Hague, as far as Kinderdijk. Night buses The HTM Nachtbuzz operates on Friday and Saturday nights. Parking in The Hague Parkeren in Den Haag

In The Hague and Scheveningen paid parking applies from 09 AM to 12 PM on weekdays and on Fridays and Saturdays from 09 AM to 02 AM the next morning. For tourists it is much easier and cheaper to park in one of the car parks. The Hague and Scheveningen also have an extensive network of trams and buses. They will often get you to your destination quicker than if you go by car. In Den Haag en Scheveningen geldt betaald parkeren van 9 uur ’s ochtends tot middernacht en op vrijdag en zaterdag van 9 uur ’s ochtends tot 2 uur de volgende morgen. Voor toeristen is het veel makkelijker en goedkoper te parkeren in een van de parkeergarages en –terreinen. In Den Haag en Scheveningen is een uitgebreid netwerk van trams en bussen. Wegwijs Inhoud / /Contents Getting around

Bereikbaarheid Den Haag ligt aan twee snelwegen: de A4 (uit Rotterdam en Amsterdam) en de A12 (uit Utrecht). Vanaf de snelweg sta je met de auto al na twee verkeerslichten in het centrum van Den Haag. Volg hiervoor de borden met Centrumring. Deze route voert om het autoluwe centrum en leidt naar de dichtstbijzijnde parkeergarages waar nog plaatsen vrij zijn. Kijk voor een actueel overzicht op denhaag.com/ nl/centrum-bereikbaarheid. Parkeren in de binnenstad Het winkelgebied in de binnenstad is autoluw met betaald parkeren op alle dagen van de week. Het goedkoopste is de auto te parkeren in een parkeergarage aan de Centrumring. In totaal liggen er meer dan 20 parkeergarages en -terreinen aan deze route. De tarieven van deze parkings variëren van € 2,- tot € 4,per uur en € 20,- tot € 30,- euro per etmaal. De meeste parkeergarages zijn 24 uur per dag geopend. Voor parkeren op straat in de binnenstad moet je betalen. Dit geldt vanaf de ochtend tot middernacht, in het weekend tot 2.00 uur. Bij alle parkeerautomaten kan met pinpas, creditcard of mobiele telefoon worden betaald. Scheveningen Wie door wil rijden naar het strand van Scheveningen, dient de borden Scheveningen Bad of Scheveningen Haven te volgen. Als het rustig is, ben je er met de auto in 10 minuten. Kijkduin Vanaf de snelweg ben je via afrit Den Haag Zuid-West zo in Kijkduin. Hier kun je gratis parkeren. P+R = Park & Ride Bespaar tijd en geld en parkeer de auto bij een P+R. Je vermijdt daarmee files naar de binnenstad en het kost minder parkeergeld. P+R Hoornwijck P+R Hoornwijck (Laan van Zuidhoorn 38, 2289 DE Rijswijk) ligt ter hoogte van Rijswijk. Parkeren plus een OV-dagkaart voor 4 personen kost € 4,- (in het weekend en 's avonds € 2,-). Neem vanaf hier tram 15 naar Station Hollands Spoor of Den Haag Centraal Station en binnen een kwartier sta je in het centrum!

Accessibility

P+R Station Ypenburg Vanuit de richting Gouda/Utrecht over de A12 is de P+R naast Station Ypenburg een handige optie. Hier kun je gratis parkeren en vervolgens reis je met de trein binnen acht minuten naar Den Haag Centraal Station. Handig: het terrein heeft enkele oplaadpunten voor elektrische auto's.

P+R Hoornwijck Save time and park your car at P+R Hoornwijck (Laan van Hoornwijck 38, 2289 DE Rijswijk) in Rijs-

wijk. Parking plus a public transport day pass for 4 people costs € 4.- (€ 2.- in the evenings and at weekends). Take tram 15 from here for a fast trip to Hollands Spoor Station or The Hague Central Station and you will be standing in the city centre within 15 minutes. P+R Ypenburg Station From the direction of Gouda and Utrecht using the A12, the P+R beside Ypenburg Station (Prinses Maximaplein) is a convenient option. Here you can park free and travel by train to Den Haag Centraal Station within 8 minutes. Convenient: the site has a number of charging stations for electric cars. P+R De Uithof Visitors travelling from the direction of Westland can park free in

the car park at De Uithof (Jaap Edenweg 10). RandstadRail takes approximately 20 minutes to get to the centre of The Hague. P+R Laan van NOI Parking at the P+R site at railway station Laan van Nieuw Oost-Indië (Van Alphenstraat 102, Voorburg) costs € 2.19 an hour. Naar en van Den Haag per vliegtuig of trein Amsterdam Airport Schiphol en Rotterdam-The Hague Airport liggen dichtbij Den Haag en zijn per openbaar vervoer goed bereikbaar. Vanaf Rotterdam-The Hague Airport reis je per Airport Shuttle tot halte Meijersplein en verder met metrolijn E (RandstadRail) naar Den Haag Centraal Station. Bij de AKO-shop op de luchthaven kun je een OV-chipkaart aanschaffen. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport heeft een goede verbinding naar Den Haag. Met de trein Den Haag beschikt over 2 inter-
