Many, many years ago stuffed animals were used for random stuffing of the evacuated skins of hunted animals. The phrase "stuffed animal" is still sometimes used to refer to examples of taxidermy. However, with modern technology it is now possible to produce plush toys with synthetic materials. For this reason, plush toy or stuffed animal (as known in the U.S.) or soft toy (British English) may be more appropriate names for today's synthetic stuffed animals. The first commercial company to create stuffed animals is Steiff, founded in 1880 in Giengen an der Brenz, Germany by Margaret Steiff. Some other well known commercial manufacturers today include Ty, Disney, Gund, Russ Berrie, Ganz, Build A Bear Workshop and Meslissa and Doug. Among the most popular types of classic stuffed animals are teddy bears and sock monkeys, but who could forget the mass hysteria over Beanie Babies and now of course the ever so popular Webkinz? Today's stuffed animals are widely popular among kids all ages, young and old and are purchased for a variety of reasons. Plush toys and stuffed animals make great gifts for any one, any age, any time for any reason! However many retailers purchase realistic life like stuffed animals for display (they require less maintenance!) and the film industry is also another source that benefits from the manufacturing of life size lifelike stuffed animals. Hansa, now considered to be one of the largest producers of exclusive high end one-of-a-kind stuffed animals makes over 5,000 plush toys with over 350 species, including mostly rare and endangered species. Hansa toys are distributed throughout the world in over 17 countries. Stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes continue to be one of the best selling items during the holiday season. Not only are plush toys very popular at Christmas time, but they are also great gift ideas such as graduation, Valentines Day, other special days, religious sentiments or simply as an expression of thought. 02

Television

Favorite past-times, of all time would have to be pleasurably hysterical while watching classic re-runs of our favorite sitcoms. A few come to mind, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Martin and The Jamie Foxx Show. These sitcoms were original, hilarious, optimistic and upbeat. Always had a positive storyline and will forever remain hot shit.

Holy Bible

Disciple means pupil or student, and the disciples were people who chose to follow Jesus and to listen to his teaching. Simon Peter, Andrew, James the Great, John, Philip, Nathaniel, Thomas, James the Less, Thaddaeus, Simon the Canaanite, Judas Iscariot and Matthew called Jesus "rabbi", or teacher. The twelve disciples were followers of Jesus whom he had chosen to become his core group, the people he talked things over with and depended on. Their mission was to announce that the kingdom of God was at hand as John the Baptist (Elijah) had done and Jesus too. They were sent ahead to districts not yet covered, still in Israel. By virtue of the power, from the Most High they had just received, cure the infirm, cleanse lepers, drive out unclean spirits, and even raise the dead to life. Theirs was the mission of Jesus transmitted now from one to twelve but with the same purpose and methods. 10

The Word

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ Mt 27:46-54

“And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, This [man] calleth for Elias. And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.” “Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”

Brief History of the All Star shoe.

What is the oldest, most popular, and all time best selling basketball shoe of all time? Converse All Star "Chuck Taylor"! It was in 1908 that the Converse Rubber Corporation opened for business. With the popularity of basketball, the Converse Corporation saw the need to develop a shoe that people could wear while playing basketball. The very first version of the All Star basketball shoe was produced in 1917. All Stars were made in all black canvas or leather versions. The All Star was to be the first mass produced basketball shoe in North America. 60% of all Americans own or have owned at least one pair of these sneaker! It consisted of a very thick rubber sole, and a ankle covering canvas (or sometimes leather) upper. Because Chuck Taylor was so successful in promoting the All Star sneaker, as well as making important changes in the original All Star shoe, in 1932, his name "Chuck Taylor" was added to the ankle patch. "Chuck Taylor" All Star basketball shoe was born! In the 1930s Chuck Taylor designed the optical white high top model for the 1936 Olympics, and the shoe with its patriotic red and blue trim became very popular along with all black canvas and leather models of the All Star. After World War II, the classic black and white Chuck Taylor All Star High Top was introduced, a much more eye-catching shoe than the monochrome black models that had been produced up to that time. Basketball was now a major professional sport, with the merger of the National Basketball League and the Basketball Association of America becoming the National Basketball Association (NBA). Still today, over 100 years later the Chuck Taylor Allstar shoe is still the most popular shoe on the market. Salute. Left:The optical white model was introduced at the 1936 Olympics.
