Step Pyramid of Djoser Built by: Pharaoh Djoser Date: circa 2630 D.C. Location: Saqqara Height: 204 feet (62 meters)
Intended to hold his mummified body, Pharaoh Djoser's Step Pyramid at Saqqara began as a traditional, flat-roofed mastaba. But by the end of his 19year reign, in 2611 B.C., it had risen to six stepped layers and stood 204 feet (62 meters) high. It was the largest building of its time. Extensive use of stone—here and there carved to resemble wood, reeds, or other softer materials—made the tomb more durable than its mud-brick forebears. Such pioneering techniques led many ancient historians to credit the chief architect, Imhotep, with inventing stone architecture. The Step Pyramid complex was enclosed by a 30-foot (10-meter) wall and included courtyards, temples, and chapels covering nearly 40 acres (16 hectares)—the size of a large town in the third millennium B.C. As in earlier mastaba tombs, the Step Pyramid's burial chambers are underground, hidden in a maze of tunnels, probably to discourage grave robbers. The tomb was nevertheless plundered, and all that remains of Djoser, the third king of Egypt's 3rd dynasty is his mummified left foot.

• Sit quietly during the safety speech. Sure, we've all heard it a thousand times, and it's treated as a formality, but it's a legal requirement, and you don't know if the person around you is new to flying. Besides, speaking when someone else is speaking is rude. Also, mocking the flight attendants' actions during the safety speech stopped being funny about 20 years ago. • Don't use the 'S' word. We stopped calling them stewards and stewardesses back in the 1970's. Do you know why? A steward is basically a waiter. Serving you peanuts is only a secondary responsibility to these people. They're flight attendants. Refer to them as such. • Do what the flight attendants tell you to do. The flight attendants act as agents of the captain, who is ultimately responsible for the safety of everyone onboard. If you're told that you have to return to your seat, you can be charged with a felony if you disregard their instructions. Yes, a felony. If you should feel the need to strike one of these individuals, you will be met by the police and the FAA at your destination, charged with at least one felony, and you will probably spend a long time in jail. Remember the Three Strikes law? Keep that in mind before you mouth off. • Don't get drunk. There are a couple of reasons for this. First, nobody wants to be around you when you're drunk, especially the stranger (or strangers) sitting next to you. Second, after awhile, the flight attendants will cut you off. If you're hammered, you may do or say something you'll regret. Besides, it's illegal to be drunk in public. An airplane counts. • Recline the seat carefully. I've known a lot of people who have had their laptop screens crushed by someone reclining their seat too quickly for them to react. If you think of it, glance behind you, and see if the person is using a laptop. If they are, let them know that you're going to recline, so they have time to move their laptops out of the way. Follow the rules, be courteous, and remember that there are other people on the plane with you. They're experiencing the same thing as you, so why make it less than pleasant? 03

Here are the 7 habits of very organized people. 1. They have a place for everything. Every item they have has a consistent, assigned home. The home for books is on the book shelf. The home for toys is in the toy room on the toy shelves. The home for blank greeting cards is in the greeting card organizer in the office. 2. They put things back. Whenever an item has been removed from its assigned home, it is used for whatever reason and then immediately returned to its home when no longer in use. There are no temporary holding places. It's just put back where it belongs, right away. 3. They write things down. Organized people make lists and notes, and keep these in one consistent place such as a planner, notebook or calendar. They don't try to remember things in their heads. They let the pen and paper (or the computer) work for them. They reference their lists and notes on a daily basis. 4. They don't allow papers to pile up. Papers to file are filed each day, not left to grow into mountains. Mail is opened over the recycle container so papers not needed don't even have a chance to multiply. Kids permission slips are signed right away and sent back to school with the kids. Bills are tucked into a bill paying system until bill paying day, and then paid bill statements are filed away that day. Magazines are read within a week or two and then recycled or donated. 5. They don't procrastinate. When something has to be done, organized people schedule time to do it and then they keep that scheduled appointment. They know that the more they delay, the more likely deadlines will be missed or opportunities will pass. 6. They set goals and assign deadlines. They know if they want to get things done, they need to know exactly what they want the end result to be, and by what date. They review these goals often, and set aside time each day to work on achieving them. They review what they've accomplished and never forget to reap the rewards. 7. They only keep what they use and/or they enjoy. They can't stand anything taking up space that doesn't have a useful or pleasurable purpose in their lives. They're big believers in simplicity. They breathe easier knowing they've lightened their loads and can move without having to climb over boxes and piles of clutter.

Myths
Superstition Superstition - a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on such a belief. Superstition is a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge, that future events may be influenced by one's behavior in some magical or mystical way. Superstition can be defined as the irrational belief in the existence of unseen forces (frequently thought of as evil spirits) controlling people's fates or the outcomes of events, usually with negative effects, unless particular actions are taken to prevent the ill effects or to produce the desired good effects; this may involve a person's behaviors and actions, avoidance of actions, places, etc., or the use of amulets, etc. Many educated, intelligent people still hold on to a variety of superstitions, almost as though they are cherished traditions of a sort. If you ask them, when it gets right down to the nittygritty, they don't actually believe in something, yet they still act upon the belief. Very strange... MOST COMMON SUPERSTITIONS Do not walk under a ladder or you will invite bad luck. Hiccups are unlucky because when you have them you are believed to be owned by the devil. Breaking a mirror will bring you 7 years of bad luck. It's bad luck to have a black cat cross your path. If you see a shooting star it will bring you good luck. The number 13 is bad luck. Carrying a rabbit's foot in your pocket
will bring good luck. Eat chicken on New Year's Day & you will be scratching for money but if you eat pork you will be fattened with prosperity/money! People believe that when you visit someone you should leave through the same door you came in or otherwise it is bad luck. If you step on a crack you will break your mother's back. If it rains on your wedding day you will be showered with good luck.
Sounds silly. Right?

Nelson Mandela
Full name Nelson Rolihlahla Dalibhunga Mandela AKA 'Madiba'. Mandela's words, "The struggle is my life," are not to be taken lightly. "I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die". Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (born 18 July 1918) served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999, and was the first South African president to be elected in a fully representative democratic election. Before his presidency, Mandela was an antiapartheid activist, and the leader of Umkhonto we Sizwe, the armed wing of the African National Congress (ANC). In 1962 he was arrested and convicted of sabotage and other charges, and sentenced to life in prison. Mandela served 27 years in prison, spending many of these years on Robben Island. Following his release from prison on 11 February 1990, Mandela led his party in the negotiations that led to multi-racial democracy in 1994. As president from 1994 to 1999, he frequently gave priority to reconciliation. In South Africa, Mandela is often known as Madiba, his Xhosa clan name; or as tata Mandela has received more than 250 awards over four decades, including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize.

Belief in the Supreme Being
The term Supreme Being is often defined simply as God and it is used with this meaning by theologians of many religious faiths, including, but not limited to, Christianity. However, the term can also refer to more complex or philosophical interpretations of the divine. In Christian Theology, the term Supreme Being is used to refer to God. Although mostly used specifically as a reference to God the Father, it can be used to refer to Christ or the Christian Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The supreme being in Christianity is God who is Living, Infinite, Truth, the Creator of heaven and earth, one God in the three persons of God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and the "Counsellor, the Holy Spirit" sent by God in the name of Christ. 07

Reincarnation
the continuation of an everliving soul.
Reincarnation is the rebirth of a soul in a new body. When we all die, our body will no
longer be with us, but the soul never dies. This is where the term everliving is coined. We have always existed and will. Spiritual immortality, on the other hand, is a belief that is expressed in nearly every religious tradition. In both Western and Eastern religions, the spirit is an energy or force that transcends the mortal shell, and returns to either the heavens or the cycle of life, directly or indirectly depending on the tradition. Rastafarians believe reincarnation follows death and that life is eternal. People of other religions believe that once your physical body dies, you can return to Earth as another person or even as an animal. This is called reincarnation. The second after you die, you could be coming out of the womb to begin a new life. You could be reincarnated as a tree, a dog, or a wombat. Unfortunately, you'd never really know if you were reincarnated until someone very trustworthy told you. Most Rastafarian believes that Selassie is in some way a reincarnation of Jesus and that the Rastafarian is the true Israelites. Rastas are physical immortalists who believe the chosen few will continue to live forever in their current bodies. This idea of ever living (rather than everlasting) life is very strong and important. For Rastafarians, worship goes beyond the spirit of man, and incorporates the spirit of all living things. Creation is seen as the epitome of Jah (the name of the Supreme Being) and there is the idea that Jah never dies, he only expresses and manifests himself in different carnations. Therefore, the divinity of life in man is not seen merely in his earthly existence, but while he exists on earth, he must adhere to the laws of the earth, be at one with the earth and live in harmony with others. When these things are done, his life has gained purpose, and he has thus created a harmony within himself uniting his divine self with his lower self, and can do work in the mystics, in the arts, in the sciences to further humanity. True Rastas are believed to be immortal, both physically and spiritually, a concept called "ever living." In keeping with a philosophy that celebrates life, many Rastafarians deny the possibility of death, except as a consequence of sin, and believe that the doctrine of the existence of, and reward in, the afterlife is the White man's teaching aimed at deflecting Blacks from the pursuit of their just rewards in this life.

Reincarnation
Reincarnation Biblical Evidence ...mostly and certainly biblical prophets, or prophets of the Holy Bible. There are many Bible verses that affirm the reality of reincarnation.The episode in the Bible where Jesus identified John the Baptist as the reincarnation of Elijah the prophet is one of the clearest statements which Jesus made concerning reincarnation. For all the prophets and the law have prophesied until John. And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who was to come. (Matt. 11:13-14) In the above passage, Jesus clearly identifies John the Baptist as the reincarnation of Elijah the prophet. Later in Matthew's gospel Jesus reiterates it. And the disciples asked him, saying, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" But he answered them and said, "Elijah indeed is to come and will restore all things. But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also shall the Son of Man suffer at their hand." Then the disciples understood that he had spoken of John the Baptist." (Matt. 17:10-13) In very explicit language, Jesus identified John the Baptist as the reincarnation of Elijah. Even the disciples of Jesus understood what Jesus was saying. This identification of John to be the reincarnation of Elijah is very important when it comes to Bible prophecy. By identifying the John with Elijah, Jesus identified himself as the Messiah. The Hebrew scriptures mentions specific signs that would precede the coming of the Messiah. One of them is that Elijah will return first. Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. (Mal. 4:5) Reincarnation, the heir to a righteous man's spirit carrying out the works of the Lord. 10

Holy Mount Zion
Zion [zi' -un] --- The city of David and the city of God. The designation of Zion underwent a distinct progression in its usage throughout the Bible. The first mention of Zion in the bible is in 2 Sam. 5:7. Zion, therefore was the name of the ancient Jebusite fortress situated on the southeast hill of Jerusalem at the junction of the Kidron Valley and the Tyropoeon Valley. The name came to stand not only for the fortress but also for the hill on which the fortress stood. After David captured "the stronghold of Zion" by defeating the Jebusites, he called Zion "the city of David" (1 Kin. 8:1; 1 Chor. 11:5; 2 Chr. 5:2). When Solomon built the temple on Mount Moriah (a hill distinct and separate from Mount Zion), and moved the ark of the covenant there, the word "Zion" expanded in meaning to include also the temple and the temple area (Ps. 2:6; 48:2, 11 12; 132:13). It was only a short step until Zion was used as a name for the city of Jerusalem, the land of Judah, and the people of Israel as a whole (Is. 40:9; Jer. 31:12). The prophet Zechariah spoke of the sons of Zion (Zech. 9:13). By this time the word "Zion" had come to mean the entire nation of Israel. The most important use of the word "Zion" is in a religious or theological sense. Zion is used figuratively of Israel as the people of God (Is. 60:14). The spiritual meaning of Zion is continued in the New Testament, where it is given Christian meaning of God's spiritual kingdom, the church of God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22; Rev. 14:1; Sion, KJV). Rastafarian interpretation of Zion is Africa, the original birthplace of mankind. We as Jah Rastafarians believe Zion to be paradise for its believers, heaven; a new Jerusalem; Ethiopia. The Book of Exodus Exodus, Book of --- key Old Testament book about Israel's beginning and early years as a nation. It takes its name from the event known as the EXODUS, the dramatic deliverance of the Hebrew people from enslavement in Egypt under the leadership of Moses. Throughout Exodus we meet a God who is the Lord of history and the redeemer of his people. These themes, repeated throughout the rest of the Bible, make Exodus one of the foundational books of the scriptures. The Book of Exodus has exercised much influence over the faith of Israel, as well as Christian theology. The Bible's entire message of redemption grows out of the covenant relationship between God and His people first described in the book. In addition, several themes in the book can be clearly traced in the life and ministry of Jesus. Moses received the Law on Mt. Sinai; Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount. Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness to give life to the people; Jesus was lifted up on the Cross to bring eternal life to all who trust in Him (John 3:14). The Book of Exodus is a substantial testimony to the power of God. The signs and plaques sent by God to break Pharaoh's stubbornness are clear demonstrations of his power. In addition to setting the Israelites free, they also dramatize the weakness of Egypt's false gods. The puny idols of Egypt are powerless before the mighty God of Israel , Yahweh, Jah Rastafari. Exodus, The --- the departure of the Israelites from captivity in Egypt under the leadership of Moses. The actual Exodus was the final event in a series of miracles by which God revealed Himself to His people in bondage, humbled the pride of the Pharaoh who opposed the Israelites, and enabled Jacob's descendants to live in freedom once again. 12

Reality
The acronym standing for, "Cash Rules Everything Around Me." Originating from the Wu Tang Clan, this phrase was popular in the early/mid-nineties when the hit song was released. Unlike many current rap songs, this song stressed the importance of obtaining money, as opposed to spending it. It also showed youth that selling drugs was not a good way to make money, and that hard work and creativity would make more money.
