MATERIALS – Fleisher's, Bear Brand or Bucilla Sport Angora, 7 balls. 1 pair Fleisher's or Bucilla 14-inch White Knitting Needles, Size 2. 1 Fleisher's or Bucilla Steel Crochet Hook, Size 3. 4 Buttons ⅜ inch diameter. IMPORTANT – Check your gauge first. These directions apply only when Fleisher's, Bear Brand or Bucilla Yarns are used as recommended. GAUGE: 8 sts = 1 in. 11 rows = 1 in. MEASUREMENTS FOR FINISHED GARMENT Bust 35 ins. Width across back at underarm 16 ½ ins. Width across back at shoulders 13 ½ ins. Length from lower edge to back neck edge 18 ½ ins. Sleeves - Width below underarm 13 ½ ins. BACK-Cast on 102 sts for lower edge. Work in ribbing of k 1, p 1 for 4 ins. Increase row-K 6, increase 1 st in next st, * k 2, increase 1 st in next st; repeat from * 29 times, k 5 (133 sts). Work even in stockinette st (p 1 row, k 1 row) for 7 ½ ins. ARMHOLES-Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Decrease 1 st each side every 2nd row 5 times (109 sts). Work even until 3 ¾ ins. above underarm, ending with a p row. Begin pattern. First row (right side)-K 3, y o, k 2, slip 1, k 2 tog, pass slipped st over 2 tog (slip, k 2 tog and pass), k 2, y o, * k 1, y o, k 2, slip, k 2 tog and pass, k 2, yo; repeat from *, ending k 3. 2nd row-Purl. 3rd row-K 4, * y o, k 1, slip, k 2 tog and pass, k 1, yo, k 3; repeat from *, ending k 4. 4th row-Purl.


5th row-K 5, * y o, slip, k 2 tog and pass, y o, k 5; repeat from * across row. 6th row-Purl. Repeat these 6 rows 4 times. Bind off. FRONT-Cast on 108 sts. Work ribbing as on back for 4 ins. Increase row-K 4, increase 1 st in next st. * k 2, increase 1 st in next st, k 1, increase 1 st in next st; repeat from * 19 times, k 3 (149 sts). Work even in stockinette st for 7 ½ ins. ARMHOLES-Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Decrease 1 st each side every 2nd row 8 times (117 sts). Finish to correspond to back. Bind off. SLEEVES-Cast on 66 sts for lower edge. Work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 2 ins. Increase row-K 8, increase 1 st in next st, * k 1, increase 1 st in next st; repeat from * 23 times, k 9 (91 sts). Work in stockinette st increasing 1 st each side every 4th row 9 times (109 sts). Work even until 4 ins. above ribbing. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm. Decrease 1 st each side every 2nd row 8 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each of next 4 rows. Work even in stockinette st for 2 ins., then work lace pattern as on back for 3 complete patterns. Continuing pattern, decrease 1 st each side every 2nd row 6 times. Bind off. FINISHING-Sew seams. Sew each shoulder seam for 2 ins. from armhole edge. Sew in sleeves with sleeve seam at center underarm holding in fullness at top and matching pattern. Working from right side, work 1 row s c around neck edge. Fasten off. BUTTONLOOPS-Join yarn on front at left shoulder seam. Working from right side, work 1 s c in each of first 2 sts, ch 4, skip 3 sts, 1 s c in each of next 5 sts, ch 4, skip 3 sts, 1 s c in next st. Fasten off. Work other side to correspond. Sew buttons on left front. Use shoulder pads No. 3
