The Liberal Democrats have a strong presence in the urban areas of England and Wales. We are running large cities, big budgets and transforming our cities to make them vibrant and viable for the future. I believe that the Lib Dem voice in our urban areas needs to be loud and co-ordinated as we become major players in our centres of industry. Many of us have decades of neglect and deprivation to overcome to make sure that our areas thrive and are in the best possible position to take advantage of an economic upturn when it comes.
The Lib Dems with the Leadership Centre for Local Government have invested in intensive training for this group of councillors known as “Next Generation 3.We are committed to making the Liberal Democrat Party the best it can be by working together, challenging ourselves and each other and never settling for second best.
