Institute is one of the city’s largest hireable spaces. It’s our largest venue and can accommodate an audience of up to 650/1000/1800 in spacious surroundings due to its almost 740m2 flat floor space. A key feature of this space is the floor to ceiling drapes which can be used to divide the room into three separate areas if required. Useful when a more intimate gig is required. With a sleek and stylish bar, modular stage, full AV and a lighting and sound rig, Northumbria Institute is a truly versatile venue.

Northumbria Institute 2 is one of our two fantastic, award-winning bars and is a popular venue for live music and entertainment. With raised seating areas, cosy leather booths and a curtained VIP area, Reds has an exclusive feel even though it can accommodate up to 1000 guests. A large dance floor, DJ booth and the built in stage make it perfect for live music.
