Psalm 119:32 (NLT) says, “I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding.”
A Note from James Jones, Lead Minister
At TCC, you often hear and see the phrase Love God. Love others. But it’s not just a phrase. It’s our mission, something that drives our decisions, actions, and attitudes. It requires us to continually examine the ways that we do ministry, both as individuals and as a community of faith. Our mission is the guiding force behind TCC’s Expand Initiative. We are expanding our faith, vision, ministry, giving, and commitment. We’re building and renovating in order to reach our community, build relationships, and welcome people. We are coming together to love God and love others with a deeper, renewed commitment. This brochure gives you some of the specifics about the Expand process. Please pray and consider how God is leading you to get involved. Attend a Town Hall Meeting to find out more. Attend worship services to hear me lay out the biblical foundation for this initiative. Worship services are Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. This is an exciting time for TCC. Let’s take this journey together!
THE GOAL of the
Provide tools to expand the ministry of TCC so that we can love God and love others more completely!
Love God. Love others.

The total cost of the
project is expected to be
$875,000
THE BUDGET The total cost of the project has increased since the first estimates were released because the scope of the project has been enlarged to include the following:
• An enclosed corridor between the current facility and the new building. • Higher walls to allow for the corridor, more activity in the Student Ministry space, and clearance for the buses in the garage. • More stone work on the facade of the new building to further improve its appearance.
QUESTIONS Why this project and not something else?
The Expand Initiative has been prayed over for several years. The elders and staff, along with a church consultant, have been considering how to best use the existing building and future building needs. Leading up to Expand, we’ve moved Children’s Programming to the Activity Center, made improvements to the Welcome Center and other areas, and expanded parking. The new building and renovations are the next step.
Is this project financially realistic right now?
TCC is in a sound financial position. We have a long history of being financially responsible, giving generously, and pulling together as a church family to expand our facilities and ministries in order to reach others. We have secured an excellent line of credit at a local financial institution; plus, we know the people of TCC will give as they can - courageously, consistently, and creatively.
What’s the time frame for building?
We hope to break ground by late fall and get the new building framed and enclosed so that inside work can progress through the winter.
Who will do the work?
We’re working with Morton Buildings to frame and enclose the new building, and we’ll have several subcontractors complete some of the work. Plus, we’ll need TCC volunteers to help at times, too.
How will the Student Ministry space be used?
It will provide for both large group and small group experiences. It will be created as a designated age-appropriate space where students can feel comfortable. Students will be able to call it their own and will bring friends. It provides space to grow and accommodate more students.
How will the new Fellowship Hall be used?
It will comfortably accommodate more people. We will be able to host community events. We will have more opportunities to invite and invest in others. We can learn, grow, and serve together.
WHAT CAN I DO? Pray. Our elders and staff ask that you pray daily for this
initiative as we move forward. We want both God’s guidance and blessing as we begin construction and renovation.
Give. We ask that you pray about making a financial
commitment above your regular giving. Consider giving: • Courageously. Write the largest check you’ve ever written to the church on Commitment Sunday, October 15. • Consistently. Give weekly or monthly through 2019. • Creatively. Think of non-cash gifts: real estate, boats, cars, recreational vehicles, stocks, bonds, etc.
