We have seen so much progress on the new building. As I wrote this, volunteers have completed much of the painting. The work on the ceiling has begun, and flooring will go in this week. While much work remains to be done, we are beginning to close in on the completion of the new building, at least on the basic structure. We will continue to have some things to add. Sound equipment and stage lighting may take awhile, plus we will need to purchase some of the furnishings as well. With that said, the forward progress we have seen on all of this leads us to the beginnings of the remodeling process on our current facility. I’m excited about what is coming. We are going to see some needed improvements, but this will be a time of continual change and need for constant adapting. As the VisionWay school year comes to a close, we will begin using some classrooms for nursery and preschool on Sundays. Parents will get directions on check in and pickup as we make this change. At some point, the main restrooms will be unavailable, and we will need to use the ones in the new building. We will lose access to the old kitchen as the new one comes online. What this means for all of us is...patience! We will definitely have some inconveniences, but in the end, they will all be worth it as we have a much improved facility with better meeting rooms, restrooms, and offices. We will also have continued opportunities for volunteers to help with the work. Watch for more information. These are exciting times at TCC. Continue to pray that God uses us in his work!

2018 EASTER Family Experience
our free community wide kickoff for summer Summer Starts Here! TCC is hosting the second annual Summer Starts Here free community event on Friday, June 1, 6-8 p.m. We have a lot of space and want to share it with the community. It’s an opportunity for us to invite others, whether we know them well yet or not. Think about who can you invite. Offer to pick them up and give them a ride. If you can’t think of anyone you’re comfortable bringing with you, pick up a few postcards (available in the lobby) and hand deliver them to your neighbors. Give one to your favorite restaurants servers, convenience store employees, or coffee shop baristas. Inviting others is one step you can take. You’ll have even more opportunities when you attend Summer Starts Here. Contact Susan Lawrence for ways you can serve. When you’re not serving, make an effort to meander through the crowd and interact with others. Get outside your own circle of friends long enough to strike up a conversation with someone else. Open the door to the possibility of building relationships, and you’ll find ways to invest in people in the future. Even if the activities of Summer Starts Here don’t appeal to you, every one of us can open our lives to others. To do that, we must be willing to open our hearts and minds. Let’s all do that! What can you expect to experience at Summer Starts Here? Lots of Inflatables. In addition to our inflatables for the younger kids, we’ve reserved a large obstacle course, slide, human hungry hippos, and wrecking ball. Whiffle Ball Game. At 7 p.m., we’ll gather everyone who wants to play a game, and the winning team members will get some sweet prizes. Designated Young Children’s Area. We’ll rope off an area for the littlest of our participants, so it’s easier for their parents to keep an eye on them while also getting time to visit with friends. Age-Appropriate Games. A variety of over-sized games for a variety of ages will be scattered throughout the grounds. Face Painting and Balloon Animals. Of course, we’ll be sure to have these continual favorites available. Free Food. We’ll have walking tacos, popcorn, ice cream, and drinks. We still need donations of bottled water and cases of canned Coke, Coke Zero, and Sprite. We need individual bags of Fritos corn chips, too. They are available by the case at Sam’s Club, or you can donate money for purchasing whatever we don’t gather through donations. Please give your monetary donations to Susan Lawrence or Abbey Corso. -Susan Lawrence
We’ve been waiting many months for summer. Let’s kick it off with our entire community!
STUDENT
MINISTRY
ZACH CROWLEY
Taylorville Christian Students is in the middle of a very exciting season! The new building is approaching its opening, and our students are very excited. On top of that, summer is finally here! This means our student ministry will be able to participate in several fun activities over the next few months. Naturally, the headline of our summer will be our two trips – MIX for jr. high students and MOVE for high school students. Our MIX trip will be taking place on June 3-7 at the Lake of the Ozarks. Our MOVE trip will be taking place on June 25-30 on the shores of Lake Michigan (yay for lakes and beaches)! We also have several events planned in our church and community throughout July and August. It’s going to be a great summer for students to have fun, connect with each other, and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.
