How To Catch Redfish
The best way to catch redfish is to mimic what they eat. And redfish like shrimp and crabs. So, the best artificial lures for catching redfish are not so much lures as they are shrimps and crabs that have been attached to hooks.
I use a 9-foot rod that I hold in my left hand and a whole mess of artificial shrimp and crabs in my right hand. I cast out a crab with one hand and then I start throwing the rest of my shrimps and crabs at the redfish until something gets eaten. Then I bring it in and put another shrimp or crab on my hook.
I wear a life jacket just in case the fish is so big that it pulls me in the water.
I always fish during sunset where there are fewer other people to ruin my fishing spot. I hold my rod with one hand and a cigarette lighter in the other just in case a redfish eats something that doesn't have real shrimp or crab inside. Then I can melt down the hook and put another shrimp or crab on the hook.
When I catch redfish, I take them home and cook them up in my cast iron pot with olive oil and salt. Then I'll either put them into a frying pan with flour to fry the fish or just eat it straight out of the pot.
I use live bait sometimes, but not very often. The reason I don't use live bait is because sometimes people try to steal it from my tackle box.
When I go redfish fishing, I always take some vodka with me so if someone's trying to mess with me or act funny, then I can give them a drink of the vodka and they'll calm down.
Oh! I almost forgot, I also like to play the banjo while redfish fishing.
