APRIL 2009 NEWSLETTER

HAPPY HOLIDAY JIHIHJJHHHHK It has, yet again, been an action packed term at Earl Soham with so much going on. It also marks the end of a year in my post as Headteacher. I cannot thank you enough for your support during this time and I look forward to the future with great excitement. Without doubt, this school is a very special place. On behalf of the staff, I hope that all of you, parents and children alike, have a fantastic and welldeserved break and come back fully refreshed for the summer term on Tuesday 21st April. Karl Pearce

SUN SAFE

When the weather is warm, which can occasionally happen in the summer term, we would encourage all children to wear a hat when they are outside. The children will be reminded in assemblies how important it is to drink at regular intervals – to support this they may bring a labelled plastic bottle of water into class which they can access when it is required.

Children may bring in sun cream/lotion, however, it is important that they do not apply this to other children due to possible allergies. The children will also be encouraged to make use of the shaded areas as much as possible during lunchtimes. As last year, we are going to give the option for the Year 5 & 6 children to eat their packed lunches outside, in the shade, when the weather is suitable.

PE AT FRAMLINGHAM COLLEGE

After the holiday, Yellow and Blue classes will no longer be swimming on Friday afternoons, but will continue to make use of Framlingham College’s facilities for cricket, tennis, rounders and athletics.
