DECEMBER 2010 - NEWSLETTER SCHOOL CHRISTMAS MEAL

SCHOOL CAROL SERVICE

Many thanks for those of you who have ordered a school Christmas dinner for Thursday 16th. Just a reminder that the cost of £2.90 needs to be paid by Monday 13th so we are sure of exact numbers.

You should have received a letter regarding details for the arrangements for next Monday’s (13th) Carol Service in St. Mary’s Church. It starts at 6.15pm and we’re asking children (particularly the recorder group) to arrive at 6.00pm

PTFA UPDATE The PTFA have kindly agreed to provide all the children with a Christmas party and disco on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th December. This will not finish until 3.30pm. Children may wish to bring some ‘party’ clothes to get changed into after lunch. Tickets for the Family Film Night on Friday 10th December are selling fast, so please make sure that you send in your ticket requests as soon as possible.

LAST DAY OF TERM, PD DAY & CLUBS

EARL SOHAM’S GOT TALENT! On Thursday next week (16th) the children (and staff!) will have the opportunity to show off their talents. Whether it be singing or dancing, telling jokes or magic, everyone can be involved if they wish – if not, sit back and enjoy what should be a great afternoon. If children wish to bring any props, change of clothes, etc. that’s fine. Children need to sign up for this in the hall.

The last day of term (Friday 17th December) will be a ‘Come as you Please’ day. Children can wear whatever clothes they wish. We are requesting a donation for this which will go to a charity chosen by the School Council. Children may also bring in games, but we strongly suggest that these are not fragile or too valuable. Just a reminder that Tuesday 4th January is a Professional Development Day and that the children do not return to school until Wednesday 5th January 2011. Due to weather conditions, there will be no netball or football tomorrow (Tuesday) but gym club on Tuesday and dance on Wednesday will go ahead. The planned football and netball fixtures with Wetheringsett have also been postponed. On Thursday this week there will be no gym club as there is a rehearsal for the school choir. Next week there will be no after school clubs although there will be two extra FILMClub screenings… Wednesday 15th December – The Grinch (PG) ends 5.00pm Thursday 16th December – A Christmas Carol (PG) new version with Jim Carey - ends 5.00pm There will be no after school clubs during the first week back in January.
