JULY (2) 2011 - NEWSLETTER JEREMIAH ‘2’ THE MISTY MOUNTAINS

A FEW LAST WORDS As we enter the final week of the academic year, it is time JIHIHJJHHHHK``````````````````````` to reflect upon what has happened since September. 2010/11 has been a fantastic year cumulating with yet another tremendous Sports Day last week and also our Production of Jeremiah ‘2’ The Misty Mountains. The Year 6 children have achieved 100% success at Level 4+ in their Mathematics SATs for the first time in history, with the percentage of children achieving Level 4+ in English also being above the national average. Well done to them all as we wish them all the very best on the next stage of their learning journey. Children throughout the school have worked so hard during the year and I am so proud of their many achievements in a variety of areas of school life. As Headteacher, and on behalf of every member of staff, I’d like to thank every single child, parent, carer, relative and the PTFA for their support of the school during the year. We’ve had great events such as the fete, family fun night, trips to theatres and cinemas and performances of dance and drama which have all been simply memorable. Have a very enjoyable break, whatever you have planned, and I look forward to welcoming you all back in September. Take care and may the sun shine on you with whatever you do. Karl Pearce

MONDAY 18TH & TUESDAY 19TH JULY We’re almost there! Hopefully, you’ve all got your tickets for at least one of the performances. We are asking that all children, regardless of which cast they are in, are in school on both Monday and Tuesday at 5.45pm to enable a prompt start at 6.15pm. Following on from Friday’s dress rehearsal, I can confirm that the show will last for approximately an hour. Tickets are completely sold out for Tuesday evening’s performance, but plenty remain for the afternoon. A very big thank you for your efforts with the children’s costumes – they look fab!

LOOSE ENDS… Please could you ensure that your child returns all school belongings such a sports kit and books during the next few days. Please could children completely empty their lockers. Lost property will be displayed outside the Red Class gate. There will be a final ‘extra’ Filmclub on Wednesday 20th July where E.T (U) will be shown. Finish time will be 5.15pm – E.T was voted the number 1 family film in a Radio Times (2010) survey.

DIARY DATES THE HOLIDAYS BECKON… Friday, the last day of term, is a ‘come as you please’ day. Children may wish to bring in a game to play, but please ensure that it isn’t too fragile or valuable.
