MARCH 2011 - NEWSLETTER ENTRANCE NEARS COMPLETION!
MOTHERS’ DAY LUNCH
We are delighted to announce that next week we will be able to start using the new entrance, once decoration has been completed over the weekend. Although the final carpet will not be laid for a few days, we would like to start using the entrance straight away to ensure the safety of the children.
Just a reminder of the change of date of the Mothers’ Day Lunch to Monday 4th April due to the clash with the trip for Year 4, 5 & 6 to Lowestoft Marina Theatre. We do need to know adult numbers by Friday 25th March. Please refer to February (2) newsletter for more details.
The entrance door to Red Class will no longer be available as a general access to the school and all visitors to the school will need to use the main entrance. The children in Red Class will continue to use their entrance at the beginning and end of the school day, as was the arrangement prior to building work commencing. Children in Yellow and Blue Classes will use the new entrance at all times of the day. We would like to pass our sincere thanks on to everyone for remaining so patient throughout this, particularly the children in Red Class. We hope that the finished article is an improvement in terms of safety and security and will also be more welcoming rather than visitors having to stand outside and wait for the door to be answered.
RED NOSE DAY Next Friday (18th March) is Red Nose Day where the theme is ‘Do something funny for money’. We are asking the children to come into school dressed up in a ‘funny’ way – they may be in their pyjamas, in red, back to front, fancy dress – the possibilities are endless. We’d like children to make a contribution towards our collection and based on the amount received on Friday, this will see how much of their legs Mr Mansell and Mr Pearce will have waxed the following Monday morning. Total raised: £50 – front of one lower leg each £100 – front and back of one lower leg each £150 – front and back of one lower leg plus front of the other lower leg each £200 – front and back of both lower legs each. Could anyone who has the necessary skills, equipment and caring approach to provide the waxing please let the school office know as soon as possible.
