NOVEMBER 2010 - NEWSLETTER A WARM WELCOME BACK JIHIHJJHHHH
PTFA
Last half term was a very long one indeed and I hope that all the children have come back refreshed and ready for the weeks ahead. The rest of the autumn term looks like it’s going to be full with all sorts of ‘extras’ including: Christmas activities, sporting fixtures, special lunches and many more. There will be another newsletter soon, outlining the plans for the end of term to enable everyone to get organised in plenty of time. Our newly elected School Council is now in place – congratulations to all those who were elected and well done to all of those who also put themselves forward. Further information is available on the school blog.
The next meeting of the PTFA is on Thursday 11th November, at the school, at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to join us as we plan our events for the rest of the year.
PARENTS’ FORUM The next Parents’ Forum will be on Thursday 11th November at 9am. I do hope you will be able to join us. Items for discussion include plans for Christmas and an update on our new entrance area. Remember, everyone is welcome.
CHILDREN IN NEED Friday 19th November sees the annual ‘Children in Need’ fundraising day. Again, we will be trying to make a coin trail around the school and are asking the children to bring in ‘coppers’ as a donation to produce the trail. As for ‘show your spots’, which is the drive behind this year’s campaign, we’re asking the children to come in spotty – we’ll leave that to everyone’s imagination! Children may also bring in their own ‘Teddy’ if they wish. If any children have any other ideas, please let us know a soon as possible so we can plan and inform everyone well in advance.
Congratulations, and thank you, to Alice Beamish for her winning entry in our ‘design a PTFA logo’ competition – as seen above!
REMEMBRANCE DAY Poppies are now available from the School Office for a small donation. The whole school will be taking part in two minutes silence on 11th November and some children will be laying crosses at the war memorial near the church.
