NOVEMBER 2009 - NEWSLETTER A WARM WELCOME BACK JIHIHJJHHHHK Last half term was a very long one indeed and I hope that all the children have come back refreshed and ready for the next seven weeks. The rest of the autumn term looks like it’s going to be full with all sorts of ‘extras’ including: theatre visits, sporting fixtures, special lunches and many more. There will be another newsletter in the near future outlining the plans for the end of term to enable everyone to get organised in plenty of time.
SCHOOL MEALS Just a reminder that the new menu is now in place and the price of a school meal has now risen to £2.00. This applies to all Suffolk schools who have their meals provided by Suffolk County Catering.
CHILDREN IN NEED Friday 20th November sees the annual ‘Children in Need’ fundraising day. Again, we will be trying to make a coin trail around the school and are asking the children to bring in ‘coppers’ as a donation to produce the trail. As for ‘doing something different’, this year we’re asking the children to either wear clothing inside out or back to front. They can wear whatever they wish, but something spotty would fit the theme of the day. Children may also bring in their own ‘Teddy’ if they wish.
HARVEST FESTIVAL A very big ‘thank you’ for all of your contributions for our Harvest Festival. The Ormiston Children’s Centre in Ipswich were extremely grateful for your kind gifts.
SCHOOL NURSE DROP-INS Our School Nurse, Tina Fordham, is available on Friday 13th November from 2.30pm onwards. If you wish to discuss any of your child’s health issues with her, please let Tracey in the office know.
REMEMBRANCE DAY Poppies are now available from the School Office for a small donation. The whole school will be taking part in two minutes silence on 11th November and some children will be laying crosses at the war memorial near the church.
