FAMILY PHOTOS
PARENTS’ FORUM
Tempest Photography, who take our individual and group photos at school, will be visiting on Tuesday 19th October to take ‘informal’ family group (up to 6 people) photos. If you would like to book a slot or find out more details, please speak to Tracey in the office as soon as possible. Spaces are limited.
The first parents’ forum of the year will be held on Thursday 23rd September at 9am. Everyone is more than welcome to attend, and it would be great to see you there. There is an open agenda for any items relating to the whole school. Again, it would be great to see you there as everyone is welcome.

PUPIL INFORMATION DETAILS It is important that we have the most up to date details on your child /children as possible. Information regarding medical needs, including allergies, enable the school to ensure that the children’s individual needs can be attended to. Parental contacts are also vital (this particularly comes to light when trying to contact parents during an emergency) especially as mobile phone coverage in this area isn’t great. The more points of contact that we have, the better. Please could you complete the Pupil Information Form and return to the school office – thank you.
COMPETITIONS Don’t forget your entries for the sunflower and holiday writing (simply write about the two favourite days of your holiday - try to be as descriptive as you can) competitions. Please hand in to Mr Pearce by
the end of the first week of term.
DIARY DATES VOUCHERS Thank you for your continued donations of a variety of vouchers for school equipment – they really do make a difference. With the latest batch of Sainsbury’s vouchers we have been able to order a wide range of cookery equipment which will enable us to get our new Cookery Club up and running after half term.

SEPTEMBER 2010 - NEWSLETTER A WARM WELCOME JIHIHJJHHHHK
START OF DAY
A very warm welcome (or welcome back) to school to all pupils and their families. Last year ended on a ‘high’ with our first ever Open Evening – thank you for your support with this – the children were fantastic! We hope that you have had a refreshing break and are looking forward to the year ahead and the challenges that will be faced during the next three terms. Please note that the first ‘Wall of Fame’ assembly’ will be next week on Friday 17th September at 9.00am. We hope to see you there.
With an increasingly expanding curriculum, it is extremely important that we are able to make a prompt start every day. Children need to be on the school site for the morning whistle which is blown 2 minutes before 8.50am. Registration is taken at 8.50am to enable the first activities of the morning to commence at 9 o’clock. A member of staff is on duty on the playground from 8.35am onwards.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
HOT DINNERS We would be extremely grateful if school meals could be ordered and paid for on Mondays. There is a slip available from outside the office to fill in with your child’s choices. Also in the entrance area is a copy of the three week cycle of menus that are on offer. The current cost of a school meal is £2.00.
We are planning to start our after school clubs the week beginning 13th September. It is planned to provide football, netball, dance, FILMClub, script writing and gymnastics this term. Mrs Barker is requesting support with running gym clubs on Tuesday and Thursday, without this the club may have to be cancelled. Please contact her if you may be able to support her. Further details on club times will follow later this week...
PTFA AGM
PARENTAL SURVEY One of the key parts of our aim for continued school improvement is to gather and evaluate the opinions of parents & carers. Later this week, a survey will be sent home to parents of all children in Year 1 and above. We would appreciate you completing and returning this to Mr Pearce to enable us to gather an overview of perceived strengths and areas for further development.
The Parents Teachers & Friends Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 7.00pm on Tuesday 14th September – everyone welcome. The PTFA are a great support to the school and help to fund a variety of school trips and equipment for the school from which every child benefits. They raise money through organising events such as the fete and the forthcoming ‘Auction of Promises & Meal’ (Saturday 16th October) as well as providing refreshments during occasions such as Sports Day and the Carol Service. So, please join us on the 14th so that the good work can continue! =
