Earl Soham Community Primary School Caring, sharing and learning; because every child matters Headteacher: Karl Pearce Earl Soham, Woodbridge, Suffolk. IP13 7SA Tel: (01728) 685359 Email: ad.earlsoham.p@talk21.com

SEPTEMBER (2) 2011 - NEWSLETTER It has been a thoroughly enjoyable start to term and JIHIHJJHHHH the children are to be congratulated on all that they’ve achieved so far. We hope that you are able to attend the PTFA AGM tomorrow (Wednesday, 7pm) or can join us for the first ‘Wall of Fame’ assembly on Friday morning.

COATS, PLEASE Please could you ensure that your child has a coat in school every day. Not only was it really windy today, but we also had some unexpected rain. Thank you.

CAN YOU HELP? PARENTS AS READERS We are always looking for ways in which we can improve the children’s reading skills and confidence. We believe that even the oldest children greatly benefit from being heard by an adult. If you can spare some time during the school day to listen to readers, please contact any member of staff. ART SHIRTS If you have any spare old shirts, we would greatly appreciate them for the children to use during art lessons

IPSWICH TOWN TICKETS As in previous years, the school is able to order discounted tickets (£20 adults, £3 children) for Ipswich Town matches. This term, tickets are available for the following home fixtures which all have a 3 o’ clock kick-off: BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION – Sat 1st October READING – Sat 26th November DERBY COUNTY – Sat 17th December Unfortunately, a win cannot be guaranteed! If you’d like further details, or a booking form, please speak to Mr Pearce.

We’d appreciate any vouchers that you may receive from Morrisons to enable us to gain ‘free’ gardening equipment for the school. On a similar theme, there is a new permission sheet in the entrance area for parents to sign if they wish their child to visit and partake in activities at the school allotment in the village.

DIARY DATES

A VERY ADVANCED NOTICE The school has reserved tickets for all children in Years 2 – 6 to see this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto (Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood) at the Wolsey Theatre on Wednesday 14th December. We have also reserved tickets for all children in Reception and Year 1 to see ‘Penguin’ at the Wolsey Studio on Wednesday 7th December.
