APRIL 2013 – NEWSLETTER THE SUMMER TERM A very ‘warm’ (well certainly warmer) welcome back to everyone for the summer term – we hope that you have had an enjoyable break. Time certainly does fly by and it seems incredible that we’ve already had to book tickets for the ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ panto for December! As strange as that may seem there are plenty of events that will be taking place this term which require a great deal of advance planning such as: Sports Day, Summer Fete, school production, Family Fun Night and various school trips to name just a few. Add to that our continued participation in many sporting events it goes to show how important the continued support of parents is in ensuring that these events are able to go ahead. THANK YOU. On Monday 22nd April our 13 Year 6 children will be off for the week having an ‘African Adventure’ where both friendships and memories are made. Meanwhile, the rest of the school will be having an activities week of their own...Year 2 and above will be with Mr Pearce undertaking two design technology projects either side of the trip to Ipswich on 24th April. These projects will involve bridge building and the creation of their own museum. Children in Reception and Year 1 will be preparing for their visit to the museum with a range of activities and then following up with activities related to ‘Minibeasts’ and ‘The Wider World’ – our two whole school topic themes this term. The week beginning 13th May will be SATs Week for our Year 6 children (a timetable for  which was on the previous newsletter) with children in Year 2 and above undertaking their non-statutory assessments the following week. Then, before we know it, it will be half term! In the meantime, any donations of newspaper would be much appreciated!

PTFA Thank you for your support during our last two events; the Family Film Night and the Gifts & Goodies Evening. Combined the two events saw a profit of approximately £700.

Your support would also be appreciated for the annual QUIZ AND CURRY NIGHT Saturday 4th May (7pm) Tickets £7.50 Teams of 6 (either come as a team or join together on arrival) The quiz is great fun and often poses the key question of them all – Where on Earth does Mr Pearce get his taste in music from?

Please also make a note of the other events planned for this term... Saturday 8th June FAMILY FUN NIGHT Saturday 6th July SUMMER FETE DIARY DATES th
