NEWSLETTER 13 – March 2009 RED NOSE DAY JIHIHJJHHHHK As mentioned in previous correspondence, Friday 13th

WORLD BOOK DAY

March is Red Nose Day. Children (and staff!!!) are being asked to wear their pyjamas – for which a donation would be gratefully received. There will be a special ‘RED’ lunch, details of which will be posted near the office when the final menu is confirmed. The school cook will also be making fairy cakes for all the children to decorate which will then be sold at the end of the day. If the children have any other ‘money making’ ideas, then please let us know well in advance. Thank you.

A number of activities have been arranged for Thursday 5th March to make the day ‘different’, including the children being able to dress up as a book character if they wish. Every child will receive a book token for £1.00 which can be used to buy one of the special World Book Day books, or to receive money off any book in most book shops. We are hoping to have some of the ‘special’ books delivered to school in time for book day should the children wish to put their tokens to good use.

SCHOOL BLOG

The school diary is available in greater detail on the website via a link under ‘Calendar’ in the ‘News’ section – this is updated as regularly as possible.

DIARY DATES

Please visit the School Blog which has a link on our school website - www.earlsoham.suffolk.sch.uk There is a vast range of material on show, showing the many things that the children have been up to since the introduction of the ‘Blog’ in November. Happy viewing and any comments would be greatly appreciated as to how we could improve this or our website in general.

BIG YELLOW FRIDAY This Friday (6th March) is our first ever ‘Big Yellow Friday’. The School Council thought that this was a worthy charity to support (Children’s Liver Disease Foundation) and we’d greatly appreciate your support by the children wearing anything yellow and making a donation towards a charity that is very close to the heart of members of our school community.
