“We learned about gratitude and humility—that so many people had a hand in our success. And now we look forward to what is yet to come.” ~ Michelle Obama
I love this quote as it is so relevant to the success we are experiencing at The Arts Center. I am so overwhelmed with the support of our community to the mission of our organization, “Culture Builds Community.” Because of our members, volunteers, business support, nonprofit organizations, artists, teachers, musicians, performers, and art enthusiasts, we are experiencing one of our most successful years. We are offering so many new classes for adults and families, our Arts After School Program has a waiting list for most classes, performers are contacting us for the next season of the Downtown Arts Market, artists and teachers are offering classes at The Arts Center. We continue to offer space for local art clubs to meet, and those clubs are growing. It seems like we are doing something right at The Arts Center, but we couldn’t do it without our “village.”
At this time of thanksgiving, I want to thank all of you who have contributed to our success. I am truly humbled and grateful. As Michelle Obama said “... so many people had a hand in our success.” And now we look forward to what is yet to come.
Sincerely,

“I am a maker. I love making objects. I get lost in the process, and I find getting lost the most important aspect of making. Art objects in history and antiquity, and thus Museums, are a primary inspiration for my work. Chinese celadon vessels, Greek amphoras and Japanese tea bowls are some of the areas that inform my own ceramic making.”
