Welcome to the annual Transcon Peace Country Bull Sale. We have seen tremendous growth at this annual event with 89 bulls catalogued this year.

This will be one of the largest offerings of long yearling bulls of the sale season. There will be a great selection of polled Fullbloods and horned Fullbloods, with a few Reds and Blacks. KSL and O Double E specialize in raising grass fed bulls with that extra age advantage, bulls that will have the little extra size to handle a few more cows.

The yearling section of the sale is the strongest set of beef bulls ever offered at this event. Reds, Blacks, Fullbloods with some very elite bulls in each group. There will be calving ease and power bulls. Every farm I visited I was truly impressed that they raised the bar from last year. There will be some breeder bulls here! If you have not attended this sale in the past you will want to mark it on your calendar this year. This is a very powerful set of bulls and may be the largest Simmental sale in the Peace Country. We are very happy to be part of such a progressive sale in the heart of the Peace Country where buyers have access to both top end yearlings and age advantage bulls all in one building. We would also like to thank all of our past customers for their support and confidence in our program. Without you we wouldn’t be able to follow our passion in raising quality Purebred Simmentals. This year’s offering is extremely strong and uniform, a great sign of the direction our cow herd is progressing towards. The lead off bulls from our MRL Matrix herd sire are something special. He has been a breed changer for us with the amount of substance and soundness he puts into his offspring. Homo Polled. No surprise here we lead off our offering with a very impressive Matrix calf. This is a bull that has all the bells and whistles. Loads of muscle, extremely wide topped and has exceptionally good feet. 57E ties in our original breeding vision of crossing Matrix to our highly maternal Chevy daughters. This guy is dark, dark red and has a great disposition. 101B is a beautiful young cow that raised one of our feature bulls last year that sold for $8200 to Stacey Williams. I wrote in the maternal brother’s footnotes that 57E’s mother was a cow going to do big things in the future but raising our lead off bull for her second calf has exceeded our expectations. This guy is the real deal.

Genetically this guy is stacked as his mother 60A is a bull maker who produced a high seller last year to Double S Land & Cattle in Mirror, AB. He is sired by our new herd sire JSEE Carisma, a Red Addiction son who has a flawless dam and was the type of bull we just had to own. 123E has a lot of value to offer to any program. KSL Simmentals It’s with great excitement that we welcome you to another edition of the Peace Country Simmental Bull Sale! 2017 was a year of many exciting changes for us and we are so excited to share them with you! The KSL herd and team grew immensely in early 2017 when my partner Brad Smith of Big Sky Simmentals decided to make the leap and long trek from Treherne Manitoba and call Northern Alberta home. Beginning in March we started the haul of 150 Big Sky cows and calves of Brad’s across the prairies and, with some long hours, multiple trips from ourselves and custom haulers, the cows arrived safely by the end of May! They have adjusted amazingly, weaning some of the biggest calves to date on the good hard Peace Country grass, and we couldn’t be luckier and more pleased. The 12 yearling bulls in the sale are the cream of the calf crop out of Brad’s Big Sky cows. They sell with the Big Sky prefix and name on them this year as they were born in Manitoba, but we stand behind them the same as we would the KSL bulls. With Brad joining KSL, his sister and brother-in- law, Trevor and Amy Peters will be continuing Big Sky Simmentals in Manitoba. The Big Sky cows will produce powerful performance Simmental genetics here at KSL Simmentals and be matriarchs in making quality bulls and females for years to come here in the Peace Country. We also have 20 of the May born long yearling bulls that we have really come to appreciate for their ability to give our producers and bull customers the true age advantage. These bulls are developed on high forage rations and given the time to mature and become true breeding specimens. If you are in need of an extra age bull to compete in a community pasture or just handle breeding larger groups of cows, these bulls have really proven to be sound investments. We have also turned a keen eye towards making these bulls multi functional for the producers, and having 11 of them being polled, 3 being homozygous polled is just another added bonus. We feel this offering of bulls is a strong variety of functionality, with a mix of performance and calving ease, horned and polled, Red, Black, Fullblood and full Fleckvieh. We showed Denim at the Dawson Creek Fall Fair as a calf. Terms & Conditions
TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, VISA, Mastercard, or Interac, payable at par at sale location. There will be a 3% administration fee on all VISA or Mastercard purchases applied to the buyer’s invoice. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. INFORMATION SUPPLIED - The information contained in this catalog is believed to be true and accurate. However, the information has been supplied by the seller and neither Transcon Livestock Corp. or Jamesway Enterprises Ltd. assume any responsibility if the information supplied is not accurate. CATTLE PICTURES - The images in this catalog are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals. Transcon Livestock Corp. and Jamesway Enterprises Ltd. assume no responsibility if the images as received have been altered. ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalog. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association. SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale. ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors. or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale. TRANSCON LIVESTOCK CORP. IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations, neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties, and any legal action that may, in exceptional cases, be taken, must be between buyer and seller. The Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.
