The offering of bulls that has been put together by this year’s consignors is by far the best to date. As you sort through the bull pens in Winnipeg take note of the consistency of quality each breeding program has to offer. Approximately 60 bulls on offer....bulls that are raised to go out at breeding season and work hard and get the job done. The bulls are not pushed on feed, they are athletic and structurally sound. Bulls that have some rib shape to them and have natural muscle shape, thickness and have moderate birth weights yet are maintaining the performance needed to get those EXTRA POUNDS at weaning time. Whether it’s red or black purebreds or fullblood Simmental bulls you’re in the market for, this is a must attend sale for ranchers in the Interlakes and surrounding areas of Winnipeg and is the best place to source your next herdsire. Once again welcome fellow consignors, bidders and buyers, family and friends, to Transcon’s 6th Annual Winnipeg Simmental Bull Sale! Another year has flown by and as always we are pleased to take part in this sale with the trusted professional sales management team Transcon Livestock Corp, Sundre, Alberta, and also work along with the sales representatives at Winnipeg Livestock. Together we continue to strive to make sound, carefully studied decisions and investments to enhance both our Registered and Commercial Programs. Considering the dry conditions last summer and fall from the lack of rain in the Interlake, we are very pleased with this years’ bull pen and their performance. We owe a lot of credit to our hard working females who did their jobs well! Consistency of offspring to offer customers is always key in both our programs. Again as buyers ourselves, we appreciate having a variety of genetics and numbers to choose from to enhance our programs and feel confident we are providing another great opportunity to our customers to enhance their own programs. All bulls are on a total herd health program and feed program designed to grow structurally correct in a timely manner and promote longevity, with good feet, fertility, and female progeny with good udders. Bulls are fully vaccinated and Ivomec’d. Semen drawn on bulls prior to sale day will be used for in herd use only. For the buyer’s convenience if needed, bulls can return to the farm free of charge until April 15th with delivery arrangements until May 1st. Here is our introductory bull out of our new herdsire, Sunville Dakota. Dakota was the high selling fullblood bull in the Cattle Capital Bull sale in 2017. When we saw Dakota for the first time, we knew he would complement our herd especially on our Maximus daughters. He has length, a wide top and great muscling. He only saw limited service on his first year and bred a few later calving cows. Fonzi, one of our youngest bulls, is showing great promise. He is a bit more moderate in frame, but his thickness speaks for himself. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a polled fullblood bull that should be studied and looked at closely as he has the potential to bring the polled fullbloods up to the next level of quality. He has an excellent temperament. He was a pleasure to halter break last fall as I prepared him to show at Ag Ex. He did get noticed and was given positive comments by the other exhibitors. Note his weaning weight on Sept 22 of 940lbs. He has the depth of body and has a wide top line. I believe he will develop into a medium frame sized bull and look much like his sire when he matures. He is off my herd sire, Homestead-T Jax 202B, who was the high selling bull at the 2015 Winnipeg bull sale. He is a maternal brother to Lot #54. This 3 year old cow definitely hit a home run here.

A polled/scurred fullblood 2 year old bull. If you are looking for a bull that you can use on heifers, and add some muscle to his calves, take a look at this bull. He is born out of a heifer at 78 lbs. There are several bulls in the pedigree that are proven calving ease sires, Bank Roll 345B, Champs Bravo and Sunny Valley Sargent. He is a smaller framed bull and could be used to down size some larger framed cows. He is out of a smaller framed cow. He also could be used on your black cattle, and possibly get the blaze face, or as some people call it, “the money stripe” on his calves.

Take a look here folks. Here is a powerful, long spined, heavy muscled bull. When you analyze this bull from the rear you will be impressed by the mass he possesses. Equity is wide topped, with lots of rib shape and great testicular growth. From the side he is a very long, deep bodied, smooth made bull with a thick hair coat. Equity’s dam came to me a bit more conditioned therefore he had a slightly larger birth weight but was born unassisted.
