Ridge Sports Foundation Presents
2nd Annual
F I ESTA To Benefit All Ridge High School Students October 19, 2017
A Welcome Message From
Ridge Sports Foundation Dear Friends: Welcome to our second annual Southwest Social. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the members of the Organizing Committee, the students of Ridge High School, and the entire Basking Ridge Community, we want to thank you for your continued support, as well as, attending this wonderful event. When the Ridge Sports Foundation started in 2003, the goal was to improve Lee Field to increase its use for the students at Ridge High School. Working closely with the Bernards Township Board of Education, the initial project was an overwhelming success benefiting literally thousands of students participating in everything from band competitions to sporting events and even graduation day. We’re ecstatic to see our investment being put to such good use, as we are now able to provide a top‐rated facility to keep individuals active and involved.
After fulfilling our commitment 2 years early, RSF and the Bernards BOE tackled the current project: a state of the art Fitness and Rehabilitation Center. Occupying over 3,000 square feet, the new center is equipped with state‐of‐the‐art fitness equipment, fresh air exchange HVAC systems, handicapped elevator access, clean water bottle refilling stations, performance flooring, and a folding glass wall. Beyond its potential impact for high performance training for the more than 1,000 student athletes at Ridge, the center is used to facilitate Physical Education training for all students. This includes members of our Adapted Physical Education curriculum, where physical education and life fitness training are provided to special needs students until the age of 21.
The Ridge Sports Foundation is merely the vehicle through which the overwhelming generosity of the Basking Ridge Community manifests. Including the Lee Field project as well as nearly $100,000 in money awarded to various teams, approximately $30,000 awarded to male and female students for scholarships, and the $250,000 pledge for the new Fitness center, The Ridge Sports Foundation has already funded or committed to pay over $750,000 to make Ridge a better place for both our present and future students.
We are fortunate and blessed to be able to provide a platform for wellness and success for the students at Ridge and in our community. Thank you again for your continued support – none of this is possible without you! Sincerely, Dan Spina President
