READING COMMUN
NITY CENTER
Seeking to rebuild after a tornado devastated their town, the citizens of Reading, Kansas asked third year architecture students to provide design ideas that would make their community whole again. Townsfolk provided input before and after the design process, which was my first experience with client interaction.

Devoted to Yaacov Agam, father of kinetic art, this museum echoes the illusory qualities of the artwork it houses by altering the perception of time and space as one circulates through the building. This project was one of ten nominated and publicly displayed for the annual Charles Burton Design Award and scholarship.

A budding arts-focused area, the Crossroads District aims to fuse new and old. Many holes exist in the historic urban fabric which create opportunities to redefine the aesthetic and identity of the neighborhood. My proposal for an urban grocery store seeks to fill one of these voids in a way that engages passersby and softens the environment with green roofs and vegetation. I presented this project as a nominee for the first annual Manko Windows Design Competition.

GREENWOOD COUNTY
Y COURTHOUSE PLAZA
One facet of my master’s thesis project, this plaza design beautifies Greenwood County’s courthouse while celebrating the civic nature of the building with a colonnade, as seen in the rendering to the left. The citizens of the small town of 2,500 have received this proposal positively and I am currently working with local nonprofit organizations and the Greenwood county commissioners to make this design become a reality.

RAY
YMUND RESIDENCE
I worked on several high-end custom residential homes during my eight month academic internship at Sante Architects in Telluride, CO. Because the firm was small, I had the opportunity to help with every aspect of completing projects from design and submittals to documentation and construction administration. The Raymund Residence is currently under construction and was one of the main projects I worked on.
