Welcome to the 16th Annual North of the 49th Bull Sale. To our past friends & customers, we wish to extend a sincere thank you for your interest in our program. We always feel grateful for the people involved in this industry that we get to work with on a daily basis. The Charolais advantage is as strong as we have ever seen in the marketplace. The buckskin calves, more often than not, lead off any feeder calf sale and demand a premium. We feel our 2019 bull pen is right for the times and is built for the commercial producer. Our bulls are built on functionality, longevity and calving ease. In saying that, our bulls are grown out conservatively on a TMR ration at a rate of gain of 3-3.5 pounds per day. We take a lot of pride in our herd bull battery. With less labour and more numbers being added to the herd yearly, we have shifted our focus to producing low maintenance cattle and we expect nothing less of our herd bulls. The Downhome sire group is our lead off group for their unique and proven pedigree. They have calving ease and growth in a muscular package. Throughout the catalogue, we have some very proven pedigrees as well as some new pedigrees that really emphasize calving ease and growth without sacrificing phenotype or structure. Customer satisfaction has built our program and as we always have, we stand behind what we sell. We guarantee bulls to be breeders and if there is a problem along the way, we always have a few extras on hand to ensure that your cows get bred. Freestyle is sired by our Downhome herdsire and there is no question why he is one of the lead off bulls in the sale. This is one of our heaviest muscled bulls we have raised. We admire the solid structure that this bull is built on. He has a moderate frame but pushes down the scale in a huge way, the length of body this bull possesses is tough to find. We really admire his combination of stoutness and performance. Freestyle has such an ideal front shoulder and the character in his skull are some of the main attributes we look for in a herdbull. The Downhome calves are going to cut a wide swath around our ranch from their short gestations to the added muscle and structural correctness he provides. The Serio dam has been no stranger to raising front end cattle having raised two high selling bred females one being in our Volume I female sale in 2015. We feel this Downhome son has the eye appeal and pedigree strength to make an impact in any program.

Lot 2 First Down could easily be your first choice when you tour the bull pen. This bull is as good as they come. When you see his February 19 birth date, he really gets your blood flowing. When you talk about raising calves that top the marketplace, this bull can take your program to that level. The performance he combines with the depth of body is exceptional. If you want a soft made, easy keeping bull, mark him down. He is one of our favourite Downhome sons and is definitely one of the reasons we are excited about using the Downhome bull. This bull has the calving ease and maternal pedigree to burn some numbers up on paper. His dam raised a high selling bull in the 2016 Bull sale to Downie Lake Colony.

First Class is just what this bull is all about. When we purchased his sire this is what I expected him to do and he might just have out done himself with 917F. This bull has caught our eyes since spring for many reasons from his small neat head that ties into his shoulder and smooth from front to back. One thing that always reminds me of old Silver Buckle is the depth of quarter he carried and that ideal hook to pin structure. First Class has many of those same attributes, a bull we appreciate and the type we strive to produce.
