INTERACTIVE W A T E R N A T A T O R I U M JANEILLE CALNICK DESIGN IV SPRING 2013

CONCEPT COLL AGE

In making the collage of the experiience of the pool space I thought of water in the city and the unplanned nature of fire hydrants where persons use water in an active way as opposed to the passivity of just swimming in water. As a result I sought to make a water experience that was both lively but as user controlled as possible to give the user as much freedom in choose how to use water as possible.

PROJECT GOAL Create a pool space that allowed the user to use water in their own way. This is achieved by having interactive elements that support the main pool by allowing the user to use water in an active unplanned way by spraying other users usiing these elements User control is also reinforced by facade panels that are movable by the user using an automatic system. This allows them to control their own environment and their own water experience.
