rior to 2019 I had not heard the word, “archetype”, let alone know what was in store for me with Creative Strength Training and studying this idea. In 2021, I chose the word “positivity” for the year and began digging deeper into what archetypes meant for me. In the previous two years I read the essays and digested them but didn’t really apply the knowledge. 2021 was the year to begin analyzing and paying attention. I took an ice-dyeing class and one of the pieces I

created deserved to be studied closer. In it I found the images of beings. I knew then that they were my Archetypes. From left to right is the Mother who holds a child in her womb, the Saboteur, the Rebel, and the Student who is learning and soaring with new-found knowledge. I hand-dyed the background fabric and then added paint to accentuate the images. I was also exploring composition, and at the time bilateral composition was being explored, which I applied.
