have entered this piece, Me and My Wisdom, as my inspiration for the Seeker/Explorer archetype. I have lived most of my life pursuing the meaning of “Wisdom” and all Her many names: Inana, White Buffalo Woman, Sarasvati, Fatima, Kwan Yen, and Sophia, among many others. I am continually inspired by the presence of the Feminine Spirit of God. I believe that She inhabits all of humankind and brings us the balance that is so necessary for the healing of our world. In many ways this archetypal image also includes Mother, Sage, and Lover. Each of these archetypes are the energies that drive my artistic endeavors. In Me and My Wisdom, my intention is to illustrate the possibility of Her presence in our lives. I believe I am in relationship

with this aspect of humanity and the divine, and that She directs my life. “I” am represented by the turquoise figure in the piece, who has human body parts. “Wisdom,” my Sophia, is represented by the white figure in the piece who is without human body parts but generates the spiral of Life in her being. I enjoy the process of using fusible web to create collage-like backgrounds that provide a context for the foreground images. I do all my free motion quilting and surface embellishments with the sewing machine. A developing technique in my work is the use of irregular edges to further the idea of going beyond a worldly statement.
