The
BARRY TAYLOR
Each year the Barry Taylor Award recognizes students who have gone above and beyond what is expected of a Northern Light School graduate and who give of themselves in a spirit of unending generosity in service, both public and private.
At Northern Light School, the faculty and staff believe in educating the whole child to become healthy, productive members of their families and communities. One way they accomplish this is their Garden Tower project. The children learn about nutrition and sustainability and have increased engagement and responsibility in their academic life.

Sophie’s Place is a music therapy space built in children’s hospitals, established in loving memory of singer, songwriter, and friend, Sophie Barton. Sophie sang in hospitals because she understood music’s power to heal. These spaces care for young people suffering from pain, chronic illness, and serious injury. While most people know music has an extraordinary power to bring comfort and peace to the soul, recent clinical studies have proven that music therapy offers noninvasive treatment providing evidence-based beneficial effects on patients.
Sophie’s Place is proud to partner with The Taylor Family Foundation and their Mobile Music Therapy Program
