Ways To Increase Joy And Fulfilment In Your Home Based Digital Business


We all want to be happy, fulfilled and prosperous. In fact most entrepreneurs today have chosen to set up their businesses because of these very reasons. While there’s a bigger chance that more joy, freedom, prosperity and fulfilment might come from your decision of choosing to work from home, let’s not fall into the pitfall of assuming that it is the business itself that makes you happy and joyful. That would be an old limited belief disguising itself in new clothes. Many coaches and consultants are choosing to work from home but I am aware that several months in, the joy factor and excitement starts to


wear down for various reasons. But without joy, excitement and a feeling of fulfilment in your life, it’s really tough to lead others into greater livelihoods and more awesome lifestyles. Cultivating more happiness and finding ways to get more satisfaction and experience more joy in life is actually one of the main covenants you made with life, when you decided to be a leader in your space and help others change their lives. It doesn’t mean you don’t experience challenges but it does mean that you continue mastering and dealing with whatever tries to jeopardise your well-being and prosperity differently than most. So that through your continued experience, you keep finding better and more effortless ways that could help others deal with similar struggles.

Joy And Fulfilment: Joy and fulfilment is definitely an area that majority of the people struggle with especially today. We are still for the most part not living by principles and continue to associate joy and fulfilment with certain externals, which just cannot be done if you want to live a good life. Measuring, scaling and relying on a particular outside thing to bring you joy and fulfilment is a sure way of living with roller coaster emotions and anyone who’s experiencing that only demonstrates that their emotions haven’t been mastered yet. There is a little pyramid formula that I use to teach even Nine year olds, how to practice mastery of life when it comes to big topics like money and success. For today however, what can you start doing now to increase joy and fulfilment in your home based digital business? First, get to know some of the limiting beliefs that might be disguising themselves in your world. Is your home business coaching or consulting actually established on what I call the “Kingdom lifestyle”? Or did you unknowingly set it up on a foundation that will only create barriers, obstacles and strains as you continue on this brave path? People need you and the magic touch that you’ve got, but if it’s an overwhelming struggle and you often feel stuck, alone, in despair or unsure about your impact, then you really need to slow down and start candidly figuring out who’s running the show in your life. Then, start making the necessary shifts as you see fit and in the mean time, you might as well add a little joy factor where you stand now These will help:

Here are a few ways to help you increase joy and fulfilment in your home based digital business.

Ask The Big Question: The only way joy and fulfilment in your work will be lasting and guaranteed is when you’ve honed down the big question. What is my desire? What do I really love? And if that desire is the moving power behind the home based digital business that you’ve started, then sustaining high levels of optimising and clarity will come easy. Not many people really understand what desire is though or how important it is, that’s why I made this mini online course on desire and the important role it plays in your life and business because I am certain once you really grasp certain truths that have been held by nature, you’ll be able to approach your work differently and with increasing joy.

Have A Power Walk or Short Workout Research today shows that a little exercise really makes a huge difference in your mental health and well-being. Lots of diseases from depression, anxiety, trauma and all kinds of stress can be avoided and handled with an adequate amount of exercise. It isn’t just about your body looking and feeling good (although that helps), but its about your mental and emotional well-being. Being entrepreneurs working from home, we need to be very careful not to neglect our health. I know a lot of coaches and consultants who sacrifice their workouts or that afternoon run because they are “setting up the business”, but this is a bad idea because the kind of DMO that you set up in the beginning will be very tough to break as the business grows. Things only get more hectic and if you didn’t prioritise your mental, emotional and physical fitness, it’s going to be hard to add it on later. We know that exercise gives you better sleep, it improves your self-esteem and confidence. It gives you more energy and helps you increase your resiliency in life. On top of that, it just feels good. As a former fitness instructor, working out is an addiction I am quite happy to have and I know that more than anything, taking that time to do my power workout even if it’s a short one really keeps my joy factor high and at the end of the day I feel more fulfilled because I know that while serving others I still take time to keep myself nourished in all ways, even physically.

Find A cool Little Cafe


Living in Italy I am blessed to have an abundance of cool little coffee shops. Working from home doesn’t get dull for me because I live by the beach and so when I am not working with a live client I often just pack my laptop and hang out in one of my favourite coffee shops. Of course you don’t need to live by the beach, just find a cafe you like with wifi and grab your little gadget. This is one of the advantages we have as home based business owners and its easy to feel good when working in a cosy, quiet, well-scented environment with a nice view

For The Love Of Music This is a personal favourite. One of the quickest ways to kill me is by eliminating music from my world. Music is one of my greatest and first loves. I do everything with music and I really do mean everything If you are a lover of music, then as you work, find some soothing notes and let them keep you in that joyful uplifted mood. If you can’t work with music because it distracts you, then take some breaks every 90mins or so and listen to a favourite song, do a little dance, be a little child and just allow yourself to enjoy the magic of music. Then notice how different and good you feel after.

Frequently Give Yourself A treat Sometimes individuals who choose to devote their time and energy helping others forget themselves. While it is well and good to be that selfless in life, loosing yourself for the sake of saving another will do you no good. In fact what you will notice over time is that you energy and enthusiasm disappears because when you’re not functioning at optimal levels, you won’t have as much to give as you would like. Having your business at home can at times be very tricky because especially for us women, we still have the home to take care of as well as those that depend on us. So the erred thought of assuming that working from home is easier needs to be eliminated. The benefits are greater indeed but it isn’t necessarily easier but you need to find a way to make it simple and balanced.It’s not hard to do, but you must do it first and foremost even before you establish the business because once you get busy, things only get more chaotic. Just as important as finding that balance is creating time for yourself each week to do something that makes you feel special. Give yourself a special treat as often as you can and I won’t even tell you what you need to do because that should be your personal taste. But I am going to insist that you pick at least one treat and indulge in it with as much vigour as the work itself

Find Someone And Increase Their Joy Oh this one is so good! I learnt it a few years back believe it or not.. I used to be a very self centred egocentric **** to be honest, I am certain my life would have gone down the drain by now had I not received my divine intervention Now I love surprising random people whenever possible with small acts of kindness that increases their joy. Sometimes its a family member, a friend, a client, the cashier at my favourite grocery store, the cute waiter in my fave coffee shop, the stunning trainer in my gym, my VA.. the list is endless. And it can be something big and tangible or something very small and thoughtful. It doesn’t really matter what the thing itself is but the energy you have put behind it. I promise you, choosing someone and increasing their joy often will increase your joy and fulfilment. Especially the people that we tend to meet every day and almost start taking them for granted. So choose anyone, your neighbour, your V.A, anyone really, and do something wonderful for them today.

Daily Expression Of Gratitude

Self-educate on the importance of expressing gratitude daily because it will make a huge difference in your world. I mean the fact that you have clients that you serve no matter how few, or that you actually get to work from home and be your own boss is pretty awesome if you ask me. I am sure if you gave yourself the pleasure of sitting for a few minutes of expressing gratitude before starting your work each morning, a well noted difference in your level of excitement to work and serve others would be recorded by you.


There’s so much research available today on the benefits of daily gratitude for adults and children. I would recommend taking some time to find out what science shows regarding the effects of gratitude especially if you’re the cynical type but if you already resonate with the idea of expressing gratitude, then your homework now is to find a method that works for you and makes you feel good so that before you start serving others each day, you fill yourself up with gratitude first.

Train Your Brain To Dwell In Positivity Our brains have been wired for centuries to pay more attention to negativity. Our forefathers had to establish this habit because during cave years there were many threats surrounding humanity and the need to always be alert, in the expectation of something wrong or dangerous, helped sharpen their ability to survive. So there’s a survival mechanism by default in you and me operating from the reptilian part of our brain which, in our modern society does very little good. The fact that we are wearing suits, carrying around designer bags and suit cases, driving posh cars and yet thinking, speaking and reacting based on survival mode tells us that we are the ones stalling what would otherwise be a really awesome lifestyle. Stress and unhappiness stems from this biological predisposition hence if you’re seeking a thriving lifestyle and business, take serious action today and rewire your brain to stop functioning from survival mode because thriving will never be found at the level of survival, not to mention joy and fulfilment.
