Welcome to the 22nd Annual Junior Achievement of Northern New England (JA) Golf Classic. Today we gather for a great round of golf, excellent company and most importantly to support Junior Achievement’s mission to prepare and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. We truly believe that by investing in our youth today, we empower them to strengthen our communities, our region and our country in the future. Thank you for your partnership and support. This will be an exciting year for Junior Achievement as we enter our centennial year of operation. JA was founded in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1919 to teach high school students how to start and operate their own startup businesses through the JA Company Program. The organization has grown significantly over the past 100 years to impact the lives of over 10 million young people in 114 countries every year. JA’s programs have also expanded from youth entrepreneurship to include personal finance and workforce readiness. We believe all three programming areas teach our youth to be self-sufficient and prepare them for the careers of today and tomorrow. These are critical life skills they are most likely not learning at school or at home; therefore Junior Achievement fills a critical gap in youth development. We are proud of our 100 years of history and of the fact that over 100 million people have benefited from JA’s critical programs. We are perhaps more excited about what the next 100 years will bring as we seek to prepare today’s youth to be the leaders of tomorrow. We could not deliver on our mission without the generous support of our sponsors. I want to thank all our sponsors for today’s JA Golf Classic and every individual who is playing today to ensure the future success of our youth tomorrow. We are grateful for our Golf Committee and our staff for planning and executing another great tournament. Enjoy beautiful Black Rock Country Club and hit ‘em straight!

The Future is BRIGHT for JAofNNE ABOUT JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our programs take a “learn- by-doing” approach, building students’ selfconfidence as they experience curriculum focused on JA’s three pillars of knowledge – entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. All JA programs are delivered by corporate or community volunteers, allowing students to hear relatable, real-world stories from the caring individuals who enter their classrooms, and to visualize a future that might be different from anything they had imagined for themselves. JA’s curriculum and its network of business volunteers teach young people the skills to make them believe in themselves, dream big, and reach their potential. Incorporated in Boston in 1945 as a regional JA organization, Junior Achievement of Northern New England has served students in eight counties of Massachusetts (including Barnstable, Dukes, Essex, Middlesex, Plymouth, Norfolk, Nantucket, and Suffolk) and throughout New Hampshire. In the 2017-2018 school year, we reached 23,459 students and grew our most impactful programs by 50% with the help of thousands of volunteers.
