It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2017 Junior Achievement Golf Classic. Now in its 21st year, the tournament has raised more than $3,500,000 in support of Junior Achievement’s mission of inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. The future is bright for Junior Achievement of Northern New England and the students we serve, thanks to your support. JA provides age-appropriate programs to schools and after-school programs, serving students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Programs focus on teaching financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship. All programs are provided at no cost to the school and are taught by volunteers from the business community. This past school year, we were able to reach approximately 23,000 students. Another reason JA’s future is bright is the energy and leadership of our new President and CEO, Radhames Nova. Under Rad’s direction, the organization is striving to achieve a deeper impact within a number of targeted school districts, including Boston, Worcester, Lawrence, etc. These districts collaborate with JA to deliver a more comprehensive program-experience across all grade levels for deserving youth. On behalf of Junior Achievement and the students it serves, thank you. For the past 21 years, friends and supporters of Junior Achievement of Northern New England (JA) have come together to enjoy the great game of golf – with the added benefit of supporting our critical mission. Your support of the 2017 JA Golf Classic and of JA throughout the year helps us prepare and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy. This, in turn, strengthens our communities, our region and our country. Our programs in entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness are delivered by caring corporate and community volunteers – who not only share their knowledge with the students, but serve as positive role models. A recent study of over 700 JA Alumni nationally found that

Guest Speaker Caitlin McCosh is a rising sophomore at Bryant University where she is currently pursuing a concentration in marketing and minoring in communications. At school she is involved in many activities including, Vice President of Bryant University Marketing Association, a member of the Club Tennis team and a member of the Student Programming Board.

After graduation, she seeks to inspire and empower others through her marketing efforts. In high school, she was enrolled in a Junior Achievement economics class where she learned a great deal about economics that helped her a lot in her first year of college. In the classroom, Caitlin was the President of Production for her economic class’s business where her class completed a profitable line of T-shirts that they designed, marketed and sold throughout the school. Caitlin McCosh is one of the 2016 Stephen Sullivan JA Scholarship recipients.

TOURNAMENT RULES & CONTESTS BRAMBLE FORMAT

Each player tees off and the team selects the “best drive.” Each player moves his/her ball to that spot and continues to play his/her own ball, stroke-play style, until each has holed out, producing four individual scores.

SCORING

Once the hole is completed, the best ball of the 4 is recorded for the team score. All handicaps will be entered at 50% with a maximum of 18 for men and 24 for women. Tournament Prizes will be awarded as follows: • Low Gross • Low Net • Second Place Net • Third Place Net

The Future is BRIGHT for JAofNNE ABOUT JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our programs take a “learn- by-doing” approach, building students’ self-confidence as they experience curriculum focused on JA’s three pillars of knowledge – entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. All JA programs are delivered by corporate or community volunteers, allowing students to hear relatable, real-world stories from the caring individuals who enter their classrooms, and to visualize a future that might be different from anything they had imagined for themselves. JA’s curriculum and its network of business volunteers teach young people the skills to make them believe in themselves, dream big, and reach their potential. Incorporated in Boston in 1945 as a regional JA organization, Junior Achievement of Northern New England has served students in eight counties of Massachusetts (including Barnstable, Dukes, Essex, Middlesex, Plymouth, Norfolk, Nantucket, and Suffolk) and in the 2015-2016 school year, we reached 23,802 students through the efforts of 1,516 JA volunteers. Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year our local office focused on providing greater access to JA programs for K-12 students in 15 targeted communities (with a focus on economically disadvantaged communities), recognizing that JA can have life-changing effects on students when they experience JA programs in a yearly, consistent fashion from kindergarten to high school.
