It's the most wonderful time

of the year! 1

G NO T E L T ..G HELLO, ORCAS! It's DECEMBER, wow can you believe we're already half way through the term. As many know, it's the most wonderful time of the year and as volunteers we get to serve and bring joy to citizens of our community. During this month, we had some pretty exciting events that interacted with the K-kids from Bear Mountain Elementary and our Sponsoring Kiwanis Club, Kern Club. It's brings me such joy seeing all officers and members serving their communities with such passion for service. I also want to reiterate that each club has submitted their dues on time, yeah you guys did that! Expect to be recognized with an Early Bird certificate! Members are the most important KEY factor of our organization so, please continue to recruit members it's never TOO LATE! Also, please keep publicizing District Convention 2020, Service into the Sunset! DCON is right around the corner and it's coming fast, so make sure to provide fundraisers for your members and show them our previous DCON videos on YouTube! As always, continue to serve our community for a better tomorrow! Happy Holidays, Orcas!

In appreciation for their help throughout the years for their never ending support to Ruby Division. Our members very much enjoyed decorating sugar cookies along with attaching cute Christmas notes for Kern Club.

WHAT IS OUR GOVERNOR'S PROJECT? "Our mission is simple: Build a socially-conscious generation of young people who END the global water crisis. We do this by educating students about it and activating them to rock the clean water cause & build real water projects all over the world. Why Water? Health and Sanitation: Waterborne diseases kill more children every single year than AIDS, Malaria, and all world violence combined. Small children typically do not have strong enough immune systems to fight diseases like cholera, dysentery, or schistosomiasis." (via thirstproject.org)

WHAT IS OUR MAJOR EMPHASIS CNH KIWIN'S members currently will focus their time and talents on Live2Learn, specifically focused on 5-9 year old youth, with the main goals of promoting education and building literary skills. This program not only creates endless possibilities to strengthen the common goal of service, but also allows each CNH KIWIN'S member to develop into a well-rounded individual community leader and lifelong advocate for children's education.

Pediatric Trauma affects children from infancy to age nineteen. It is a result of motor vehicle accidents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and animal bites, making it the leading cause of death of children in the United States. Every year it results in sixteen million emergency visits and twenty thousand deaths. To prevent these accidents and injuries from happening, KIWIN'S has focused on fighting Pediatric Trauma through raising funds and by increasing general awareness through education. Established in 1992, Pediatric Trauma Prevention is a main focus of KIWIN'S in conjunction with California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis.
