The Show Must Go On

Covid-19 keeps on giving challenges and we have to keep up with the times and adapt. One of the several events that was up for cancellation this school year was Lee’s Got Talent. It would be irresponsible to hold the talent competition as usual, knowing that Hong Kong is still facing its fourth wave of the pandemic. Nevertheless, as the saying goes, the show must go on! How? Through Zoom, of course!

Instead of having a Lee’s Got Talent Competition, we debuted the first LGT Variety Show. The show started with a trip down memory lane as emcees (Haris, Swecha, Ellisa, and Sophiya) introduced several memorable performances from past LGT shows.

The highlights of the day were the new performances that participants sent in. Although these were pre-recorded videos, they were still entertaining to watch and gave the more than 300 viewers online a taste of LGT.

Prizes were given out to lucky winners through several live lucky draw segments.

The show closed with videos of past cheer dance performances which brought back exciting memories of Sports Day.

It might be a while before we can safely hold events again but, in the meantime, these challenges have made us more creative in finding ways to still enjoy our school life.
