Moving-Up Ceremony

Halloween is a much-awaited event in school because of the eerie haunted house and the chance to wear scary costumes. This school year, we decided to skip the haunted house, because Covid-19 is scarier, and instead opened the hall for a Halloween exhibition on 31st October 2021.

Each class had the opportunity to participate by designing their own Halloween board. They also made a video introduction about their board. Students enjoyed decorating the hall, making it creepier with each severed hand or bloody skull. For at least one afternoon, students were able to escape into a spooky imaginary world while learning English.

Yes, beyond the graveyard lies an opportunity to learn vocabulary related to one of America's beloved holidays—Halloween. There were booths where students could play word games, and a mini-cinema where they could watch the latest terrifying flicks from this year’s After Dark Horror Short Film Competition.

There were other activities leading up to the main event like the Creepy Tales Short Story Writing Competition, the Monster Scavenger Hunt, and the Halloween Mask-Making Competition.

Surely, the Halloween House was missed but there were other scares that got our knees shaking, heart pounding, and hair standing on end.
