Hi there, it's Wen Chi Lin here. You can also call me Jasmine. I am an Industrial Design student interested in user experience, and interaction design. By observing people, I can always come up with some interesting thoughts. It's always fun for me to meet and collabrate with different kinds of people. To me, design is not only about beauty, but also about effectively solving problems. Therefore, I took the intelligent computing course, so as to train my logical thinking ability. Measuring blood in hospital makes people nervous. Lead to inccorect measurement Many people get nervous when measuring blood in hospital. It not only brings a terrible exprience, but also causes patients get abnormally high blood pressure.

Paitents might be misdiagnosed

In severe cases, paitents might be misdiagnosed with White Robe Hypertension. A research indicates that White-coat hypertension occurs in 15% to 30% of subjects with an elevated office blood pressure, and the phenomenon is reasonably reproducible.

Understanding Target User Through the surveys and interviews with nurses and patients , we understood the reason why peoples feel stressful measuring blood pressure in the hospital. We also found that the elderly is the group that suffer from this problem the most.

Most of the patients are 55+ years old. 1/ who suffer from high blood pressure. 2/ who always worried about abnormal blood pressure. 3/ who always go to a hospital alone and feel lonely.

Interview with Prototypes In order to verify whether the ideas meet the needs of the customer, we made some prototype and interviewed 10+ elderly over 50 years old.

BACKGROUND

In Taiwan, the oral cavity of the disabled elderly is not well cleaned. Base on the research published on PubMed , we found that oral health is critical to the health of older people. However, nurse aides, who take care of disabled elders most often, usually do the oral cleaning job in the wrong way.

By observing and practicing, we found that brushing someone else's teeth is actually difficult. It requires skills and practice. However, the nurse aides have no sufficient oral care training in current courses.

We 3D printed the teeth model to test the mechanism. I also made several versions of the cleaning tools to test which shape is better to hold.

STEP 2 Learn how to use the cleaning tools with the smart model The model are equipped with sensing components so that it can detect which brush is being used and whether the user's operating gesture is correct.

There is 45 degrees bevel to guide the brushing angle. The sensor in the teeth model will sense the brushing time.

If the brush is in the wrong position, there will be a flashing red light warning on the tongue.

The model will sense the rolling direction of the sponge brush and show feedback with the light in the model to help users know whether their gesture is correct or not.

It turns out that soldiers, teachers, and drivers are used to wearing watches inside wrist because they tend to have their wrists facing upwards. As for people who use computers a lot like engineers, it is more suitable to wear a watch outside wrist. 38

Our Target User 3~6 years old Gen Alpha To be knowledgeable enough to imagine the future and design for Gen Alpha, we read lots of research on future technology and design, and the theories about children. It gave us a lot of insight.


My teammates and I had a discussion every week. It is an interesting experience to work with someone that I'm not familiar with.

We also used VR wearables to gain a more comprehensive understanding of technology.

Imaginaverse, imagine in your universe.

Our final design concept is to build up a gaming world which is full of sensory experiences and feedback. Children will have three major experiences in imaginaverse, including immersive experience, tactile experience, and creating experience.
