BUSINESS CASE THE CHALLENGE When an organization growths in warp speed, like Hovione does, processes and planning have to follow this expansion, or the effects of disengagement and unadaptation can hit the organization furiously. In 2007, in an internationalization context, Hovione invite Jason Associates to create and implement a innovative system that could to map and assess their 30 management team members. Founded in 1959, Hovione is a specialized company in the health science area, which investigates and produces last generation pharmaceutical products. With 100% of its products exported, it is distinguished by their technological capability and quality of production. Hovione is the biggest player in Research & Development (R&D) in the Portuguese pharmaceutical industry, with 400 licenses in the world. www.hovione.com

OUR APPROACH Jason Associates designed a tailor-made competencies assessment model for Hovione management team named L360 Hovione Online Assessment Technology. It translates the necessary action plan for interpersonal competencies development and map the organizational talent. This on-line system require management team members perform a SelfAssessment and a 360ยบ assessment on interpersonal competencies like, Communication, leadership, executive maturity, managerial courage, etc. L360 was designed taking into account the importance of guarantying confidentiality of all information. THE RESULTS The outputs of this system allow each individual reflect about their own strengths and weaknesses, their unique talents, development areas and suggest an action plan for their individual development. This approach also allowed people to reflect about their relations with peers and direct reports and specific changes in behaviours when needed.
