Difference between Vedic & KP Krishnamurti Paddhati(KP) is the advanced version of Vedic astrology having more accuracy and less rules. There are following major differences as known: Distribution of Cusps is done as per Placidus System in KP and Vedic follows Sripat Paddhati. Start of the Cusp is taken as Start point in KP and it is taken as Mid point in Vedic. Aspects are taken degree wise and they are applicable as per orb of individual planet in KP. Vedic astrology follows cusp to cusp Aspects. Duration of Year of 365.25 days but vedic take it as 360 for easy calculations. Less rules but vedic have lots of rules and books to get accurate prediction. Logical and vedic has lost the accuracy of predictions because of missed data. Ayanansha plays a major role in accuracy KP has its own and single ayanansha but vedic has lots of ayanansha provided by so many astrologers. Each Ayanansha gives the different values to Planets and Cusps. Understandability One can learn KP in very few months but one can not learn full vedic astrology in his life. Accuracy Vedic can not pin point the time of frutification but KP can tell the exact time of frutification of the event. House of Father KP treat 9th Cusp as the House of Father and 10th Cusp for social status/carrier but Vedic take 10th Cusp for Father/social status/carrier. Basics KP follows the rules given by sage Parashar for Vimshottari Dasha/Moon. KP has divided each planet and cusp Sign (Dasha) into Bhukti, Bhukti into Antar and Antar into Pratyantar in the same ratio as done by sage Parashar in Vimshottari Dasha. It gives the more accuracy but vedic does not follows so. Navamansha Vedic follows Navamansha of Moon Sign only but KP follows navamansha of Nakshatra of each Planet and Cusp. Fortuna KP introduced a new fast moving point which can differentiate between two early births as twins, it is known as Fortuna. Mercury Combustion KP says that Mercury never Combust(असत) from Sun. What is K. P. System or K. P. System of Astrology? K. P. System uses Constellations/Nakshatras and divisions of Constellations/Nakshatras. Due to micro analysis methodology, it is an excellent system of astrological predictions and able to determine precisely, the time of an event. It is a combination of Indian and Western astrology and inherits important concepts from many branches of astrology. Main focus of K. P. system is on Constellations/Nakshatras and divisions of Constellations/Nakshatras. In Vedic Astrology, each of the primary 27 Constellations/Nakshatras are further subdivided into Charan or Paada. Charans/Padas are equal intervals of 3 degree 20 minutes. But in K. P. system, Constellations/Nakshatras are divided into further 9 divisions, called SUB, SUBs are unequal divisions based of Vimshotari Dasha System, that are helpful in making an accurate prediction.
In Vedic Astrology, Sign Lord is the controller of House. But in K. P. system, Result of House is controlled by Sub Lord. In Vedic Astrology, Omens are are considered at the time of prediction and Horary/Prashan chart is also used. But in K. P. system, Ruling planets are the ones that are used for prediction. Horary chart is also prepared in K. P. System. In Vedic Astrology, Lahiri Ayanamshas is used the most. But in K. P. system, New Ayanamshas, K P Ayanamshas is in use. In Vedic Astrology, There are countless yogas. But in K. P. system, There is no use of yoga. In Vedic Astrology, House lord is to be considered from the middle of the house. But in K. P. system, House lord is to be considered from the beginning just like Western System. (We use Bhava chalit system in Vedic Astrology but it’s not so popular in the K P System.) In Vedic Astrology, There are a number of dashas. But in K. P. system, There is only one dasha. In Vedic Astrology, We see R ashi chart, Moon chart, Bhava Chart and number of other charts. But in K. P. system, We see only Bhava Chart and Rashi chart. Major Differences From Vedic/Traditonal method : KP system gives importance to the Constellations / Stars / Nakshatras divisions of the Zodiac which is obviously the most desired for precision. Further it divides each Constellation / Star / Nakshatra division into further 9 subdivisions called 'SUBS'. These sub divisions are not equal divisions, but are as per the Vimshottari Dashas Divisions System. K.P. System uses K.P. Ayanamshas as opposed to Lahiri Ayanamshas mostly used in Vedic System. The difference between two is about 6 minutes (Kala). This system uses Cusps that is house/ bhav beginnings like Western Systems, as opposed to Vedic System which uses House Centres i.e. Bhav Madhyas. This system uses Placidus House system. The planet in it's dasha gives results as per it's Nakshtra-Swami (Star-Lord) rather than the planet itself. Whether the above results will be benefic or malefic will be decided by the Planet's SUB. Hence Planet is represents the SOURCE, that Planet's Star-Lord represents the EFFECTS, RESULTS and that Planet's Sub gives idea of the FINAL DIRECTION of that result.
RULING PLANETS : Unique Concept of KP for Powerful Divine Guidance during predictions.. The Great Indian Astrology King, late Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti has written SIX READERS which are Classics like 'Geeta' or 'Bible' for the KP Astrology. History of KP: How does KP differ from Traditional astrology? There are many points of departure and points of differences between the traditional system of astrology and the Krishnamurti Paddhati, which can be considered as differences in the method of offering prediction rather than an entirely different body of astrological knowledge. Krishnamurti Paddhati is basically a unique system of offering accurate predictions, correct up to the nearest minute, for the happening of an event by using certain tools and techniques invented by late Prof. K. S. Krishnamurti that are not to be found in the traditional or Vedic system of astrology. KP is not a different body of astrological knowledge. In other words, in KP we also use the same 9 planets with their same significations. We make use of the same 27 constellations with their natural significations and we use the same Zodiac with its 12 signs from Aries to Pisces with their natural significations. As far as the zodiac and its signs, planets, stars (constellations) and house (or bhavas) are concerned, there is no difference in the way how the traditional astrology and KP considers them for their natural signification. The astrological attributions and significance of Sun, Moon and all the other planets is the same in KP as it is in Vedic astrology. The astrological signification of the 12 bhavas or houses is the same for KP as it is for the traditional/Vedic system. Therefore, the natural signification of the sign Aries giving a fiery element, portion of the head, body structure etc. are used in the same manner in KP as it is used in traditional astrology. Similarly, the signification of the sixth bhava or house as the house of service, disease, first maternal uncle younger to mother, open enemies, hard work etc is taken in the same manner in KP astrology as it is in traditional astrology. The major difference between KP and traditional astrology lies in METHOD of arriving at a prediction. The traditional system of astrology makes use of various charts and tables other than the birth (natal) or horary charts. The KP technique on the other hand uses only a few tools that remain constant in every situation. The basis of the KP technique lies in two fundamental tools: the Placidus House Division and the Sub-division of the constellation. In KP, the only system of house division followed is the Placidus (also called as the SemiArc) System of house division. In this system of house division, the birth or the horary chart is casted according to the precise latitude and longitude of the native or the place where the astrologer is sitting for analysis (if it is a horary chart). In the Placidus system of house division, all the 12 houses may not be of equal length (longitude). It may so happen that some houses may be more than 30' in length whereas some houses are less than 30' in length. Moreover, it may also happen that there are two houses or bhavas in one zodiac sign and a sign which does not hold any house cusp. KP astrology interprets bhava or house results primarily on the basis of the house cuspal sublords and the sublord's stellar or constellational significations. And the planetary effects are determined by the planets occupancy in a particular star and a sub division within that star. These are explained in great detail in the subsequent chapters. Here we
are only providing the fundamental differences in the modus operandi of arriving at a prediction through KP astrology vis-'-vis traditional astrology. So, according to KP, even though the cuspal sub position is a very specific area demarcated by each of the 12 houses in the zodiac, these sub areas are under the lordship of 9 planets. Therefore, to arrive at a concrete prediction, the signification of a house (through the cuspal sublord) is taken into consideration through the 9 planets' house signification. Shri K. S. Krishnamurti also provided in his KP astrology a new tool called as the Ruling Planets (RP). These RP act as a divine guidance when the astrologer needs some clarification or confirmation on certain issues that may be impeding him to arrive at a final judgment. These ruling planets are a master key in the technique of KP and one has to become an adept at using these if one wishes to master this system of astrology. The use of RP in applied prediction is multifarious and infinite. The credit of the concept and its utility is solely attributable to the inventor of this system of astrology'Sri K. S. Krishnamurti. Along with RP, Sri K.S. Krishnamurti also provided us with a set of sub numbers from 1 to 249. This set of 1-249 sub numbers has proved to be a very effective tool for analysis of horary or Prashna charts where certain specific queries are to be answered or where the birth time of the native is not known. To satisfy the curiosity of the readers at this point let us briefly say what this 1-249 sub numbers is. These sub numbers are basically the sub-divisions (and therefore, called as 'subs') of each of the 27 star of the zodiac in the proportion of the Vimsottari Dasa system. Traditional astrology however, has no such divisions of the stars of the zodiac. Deviations from Vedic conceptThe deviation from Vedic concept begins when equal houses are not considered and instead the Placidus system of house division has been adopted where each cusp ie. the begining of a house has some unique measure in degrees - minutes unlike the Vedic concept where the cusp starts at 0 and ends at 30 degrees. The Cusp of the House is considered to be a very important factor over the life time. The span of a house could be less than 30 degrees and hence the Sign associated with the Cusp will be limited to the span of the house and at times a sign may be completely missing or 2 houses may have the same signs. The House or the Cusp Lords will be as per the signs calculated by the Placidus system. This is one of the deviation from the Vedic concept. KP has recommended the use of Ayanamsa which varies for each year. This Ayanamsa is closer to Chitrapaksh. Chitrapaksh or Lahiri Ayanamsa differs with KP Ayanamsa by 6M. The yearly rate of change assumed in KP is 50.2388475 Seconds. 01. The KP system gives importance to the Constellations - Stars - Nakshatras divisions of the Zodiac, 02. The lordship assigned to the Nakshatra is as per the Vimsottari dasha system, 03.It divides each Constellation - Star - Nakshatra division into further 9 subdivisions called 'Subs'. These sub divisions are not equal divisions, but are as per the Vimshottari Dasha System.
04.K.P. System uses K.P. Ayanamshas as opposed to Lahiri Ayanamshas. The difference between two is about 6 minutes (Kala). 05.This system uses Cusps that is house/ bhava beginnings like the Western System, as opposed to Vedic System which uses House Centres i.e. Bhav Madhyas. 06. This system uses Placidus House system. 07. As per the KP system, the planet in it's dasha gives results as per it's Nakshtradipathi (Star-Lord) rather than the planet itself. 08. The Planet represents the source while the Planet's Star-Lord represents the effects and results The Planet's Sub lord gives an indication of the final direction of that result. 09.KP highly uses the Ruling Planets methodology which says that the planets at the time of desire and fructification of that desire are always same. 10•House characteristics are given more importance than planetary characteristics. 11•KP system discards the use of divisional charts and yogas. 12. K.P. System believes firmly in doshas like Punarboo and Kuja Dosha. Krishnamurthi ji went to an extent of saying that ""when a house is in fire, we throw water and not more fire." I dont agree with suggestion that a native with a Kuja Dosha must marry a person who also has a Kuja Dosha. It's like adding more fire to a house which is already in fire.
