Deseti put zaredom s proleća odmotava jedinstvenu filmsku traku sa prizvukom španskog jezika - Španski metar! Filmski festival koji predstavlja najhrabrija, najzanimljivija i najgledanija ostvarenja iz španske i latinoameričke filmske kuhinje postao je jedna od omiljenih poslastica filmofila u Beogradu i Novom Sadu.

Već deset godina zajedno gledamo na velikom platnu urnebesne, dramatične, avanturom nabijene i dubokim dilemama protkane filmove koji pokazuju da bez obzira na meridijane koji nas dele, kada su emocije i empatija u pitanju, svi govorimo istim jezikom. Radujemo se novim filmovima omiljenih nam reditelja, upoznajemo zajedno sa vama mlade filmske snage i otkrivamo svetove koji svoje slike najlepše slikaju na španskom jeziku.

Ipak, tokom svih ovih godina glavnu ulogu nisu imale zvezde sa velikog platna, već upravo vi, posetioci koji zajedničkim snagama, vođeni znatiželjom i ljubavlju prema sedmoj umetnosti, iz godine u godinu sa nama odmotavate filmsku traku, metar po metar.

La primavera nos trae un puñado de estrenos seleccionados con un común denominador: el sonido de la lengua española.

Hispanometraje presenta las películas más valientes, interesantes y queridas, que salen de las cocinas cinematográficas españolas y latinoamericanas, convirtiendo a este festival en una de las delicias favoritas de los aficionados al cine en Belgrado y Novi Sad. Así, durante diez años hemos disfrutado de películas divertidas, dramáticas, llenas de aventuras o de las que se ocupan de los dilemas de la vida real. Estas historias muestran que, independientemente de los meridianos y las fronteras que nos dividen, todos hablamos el mismo idioma cuando se trata de emociones y empatía. Juntos nos volveremos a enamorar de flamantes jóvenes estrellas, al mismo tiempo que descubriremos mundos completamente nuevos con bellas imágenes pintadas en lengua española.

Sin embargo, en todos estos años el papel principal no ha pertenecido a las estrellas de la pantalla grande, sino a usted, nuestro más preciado visitante. Con su curiosidad y amor por el séptimo arte desplegamos metro a metro las siguientes películas.

For the tenth time in a row, this spring is unwinding a unique filmstrip with a sound of Spanish language - Hispanometraje! Representing the bravest, most interesting and most beloved films coming out of Spanish and Latin American film cuisine, this festival has become one of the favourite treats for film fans in Belgrade and Novi Sad. For ten years now we have been enjoying hilarious, dramatic, adventure-packed films as well as the ones that deal with true-life dilemmas. These films show that, regardless of the meridians and frontiers that divide us, we all speak the same language when it comes to emotions and empathy. We are all looking forward to the new films directed by our favourite directors, together we are falling in love with some fresh new stars, at the same time discovering a whole new world with its most beautiful pictures painted with Spanish language.

However, over all these years the main role hasn’t belonged to the stars from the big screen, but to you, our visitors. With your curiosity and love for the seventh art, together we are unfolding the filmstrip, meter by meter.

Malo je španskih glumica koje mogu da se pohvale uzbudljivom, raznovrsnom i zubu vremena otpornom karijerom kakvu ima Ana Belen. Rođena 1951. godine u Madridu kao Marija del Pilar Kuesta Akosta, ova španska ljubimica karijeru je započela kao trinaestogodišnjakinja ulogom devojčice Ane Belen u filmu “Zampo y yo“ (1965). Iako nakon premijere nije doživeo uspeh, film je tokom kasnijih godina zahvaljujući televizijskom životu, postao jedno od kultnih ostvarenja španske kinematografije, a naša glavna glumica uzela je ime junakinje koju je igrala!

Tokom raskošne karijere sarađivala je sa najpoznatijim španskim rediteljima, a početkom devedesetih oprobala se i kao rediteljka, a njen film “Cómo ser mujer y no morir en el intento“ (1991) bio je najgledaniji film u španskim bioskopima te godine. Poslednju filmsku ulogu ostvarila je u filmu Fernanda Truebe “La reina de España“ koji je domaća publika bila u prilici da gleda ove godine i u bioskopima širom Srbije. Paralelno sa filmskom, gradila je i zavidnu muzičku karijeru.

Njena pesma “La Puerta de Alcalá“ iz 1986. godine, duet sa Viktorom Manuelom, bila je na vrhu španske top liste sedam nedelja! Godine 1996. kreće na turneju “El gusto es nuestro“ sa još nekoliko španskih zvezda, koja je postavila rekorde u prodaji koncertnih karata.

Sólo hay unas cuantas actrices que tengan una carrera tan emocionante y diversa como la de Ana Belén. Nacida en 1951 en Madrid como María del Pilar Cuesta Acosta, comenzó su carrera con tan solo trece años, protagonizando la película “Zampo y yo” (1965) en el papel de una chiquilla llamada Ana Belén. La película no tuvo éxito en su momento, pero durante los últimos años y gracias a su paso a la televisión, se convirtió en uno de los logros del cine español, y nuestra actriz principal tomó el nombre de la heroína que interpretó.

There are only a few Spanish actresses who have a career as exciting and diverse as Ana Belen. Born in 1951 in Madrid as Maria del Pilar Cuesta Acosta, this Spanish sweetheart began her career as a thirteen-year-old girl, starring in the film “Zampo y yo” (1965) as a little girl called Ana Belen. The movie wasn’t successful at the time, but during the later years and thanks to its television life, it became one of the iconic achievements of Spanish cinema, and our lead actress took the name of the heroine she played!

Durante su carrera, Ana Belén ha trabajado con algunos de los directores españoles más famosos como Gonzalo Suárez, Vicente Aranda, Pilar Miró, Mario Camus o Fernando Trueba y, a principios de los noventa, llegó a ser directora. Su película “Cómo ser mujer y no morir en el intento” (1991) fue la película más exitosa en los cines españoles de ese año. Paralelamente a su carrera cinematográfica, Ana Belén ha construido una increíble carrera en el teatro y en la música. Su canción “La Puerta de Alcalá” de 1986, en dúo con Víctor Manuel, encabezó las listas españolas durante siete semanas. En 1996, dio comienzo la gira “El gusto es nuestro” con varias figuras de la música española, estableciendo récords en venta de entradas.

During her lavish career, Ana Belen has worked with some of the most famous Spanish directors, and in the early nineties, she even became director herself. Her movie “Cómo ser mujer y no morir en el intento” (1991) was the most successful movie in Spanish cinemas that year. Parallel with her film career, Ana Belen has built an incredible career in music as well. Her song “La Puerta de Alcalá” from 1986, a duet with Victor Manuel, topped the Spanish charts for seven weeks! In 1996, she went a on tour called “El gusto esnuestro” with several Spanish stars, setting records in ticket sales.

Španska akademija za film odlučila je da ove godine počasno Goja priznanje (Goya de Honor) upravo Ani Belen, navodeći da je reč o glumici čiji je rad obeležio brojne generacije i koja je posle toliko godina jedno od zaštitnih lica, ali i glasova španskog filma i umetnosti.

La Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España ha decidido otorgar el premio honorífico Goya a Ana Belén, afirmando que es una actriz cuyo trabajo ha repercutido sobre varias generaciones y añadiendo que después de tantos años «sigue siendo rostro y voz imprescindible de nuestra cinematografía».

Na zatvaranju programa Počasna Goja nagrada 2017 (sreda, 24. maj) gostovaće glumica, rediteljka i pevačica Ana Belen, kojoj je posvećen filmski program u Jugoslovenskoj kinoteci.

La clausura del programa Premios Goya de honor 2017 (el miércoles 24/05/2017) contará con la presencia de la actriz, directora y cantante Ana Belén, a quien se dedica el ciclo en la Filmoteca Yugoslava.

This year, the Spanish Film Academy decided to give the honorary Goya award (Goya de Honor) to Ana Belen, stating that she is an actress whose work has affected numerous generations and adding that after so many years she still has one of the most memorable faces (and voices too) of Spanish film and art.

The closing ceremony of the Honorary Goya Awards 2017 (Wednesday May 24th) will feature the presence of the actress, movie director and singer Ana Belén, to whom is dedicated the programme in the Yugoslav Film Archive.

La aparición de un hombre, Pepe el Romano, para casarse con Angustias, la hija mayor y única del primer marido que ha heredado una fortuna, desencadena los acontecimientos que conducen a estas mujeres a un inesperado y trágico final.

After the death of her husband Bernada Alba puts her daughters under a rigurous mourning which does not even allow them to leave the house. He appearance of a man, Pepe el Romano, who is to marry Angustias, the eldest and only daughter of the first husband who has inherited a fortune, unleashes the series of events that lead these women to an unexpected and tragic end.

Amparo živi u poluropstvu kod svojih rođaka u porodici Bringas. Oni su funkcioneri a za razliku od njih, ona i njena sestra su siromašne.

Kada stigne bogati rođak iz Amerike, Agustin Kabaljero, anarhista i nenaviknut na društveni život, dolazi do male revolucije u kući porodice Bringas. Rosalija, supruga, želi da se orodi sa njim jer je dobra prilika… ali on će se zagledati u Amparo. Šteta što ona ima tamnu tajnu iz prošlosti koja oživljava po povratku popa sa kojim je imala izvesne odnose, a koji izgleda ne želi da ih se odrekne.

Amparo vive bajo la semiesclavitud de sus parientes los Bringas, una familia de funcionarios. Ella y su hermana, en cambio son pobres. Cuando llega de América un pariente rico, Agustín Caballero, ácrata y no muy acostumbrado a la vida social, se produce una pequeña revolución en casa de los Bringas. Rosalía, la esposa, desea emparentar como sea con tan buen partido... pero él se va a fijar en Amparo. Lástima que esta tenga un oscuro secreto en su pasado que resucita con el regreso de un cura con el que tuvo ciertas relaciones, y que no parece resignado a dejar de tenerlas.

Amparo lives under the semi-slavery of her relatives the Bringas, a family of officials. She and her sister, on the other hand, are poor.

When a wealthy relative, Agustín Caballero, an anarchist, not very accustomed to social life, arrives, a small revolution in the Bringas family. Rosalie, the wife, wants to emulate as it is with such a good match... but he is going to look at Amparo. Unfortunately she has a dark secret in her past that comes to life with the return of a priest with whom she had certain relations, but he does not seem ready to leave it behind.

Uprkos što je posleratno doba, Glorija organizuje proslavu u visokom stilu, ali se proslava završava loše zbog nasilne svađe među braćom. Doña Gloria, owner of a flourishing grocery store, celebrates the wedding of her eldest son Óscar, with Ana. Her youngest son, Juan, maintains relationships with Ángela. At a gala dinner hosted by the Kings of Spain in Paris, Santi, a member of the royal escort, and Diana, a regular from the magazines of the heart, coincide. Iako su migracije stanovništva sastavni deo naše istorije, čini se da smo ostali prilično zatečeni kada su one postale sastavni deo naše svakodnevice. Dvadeset prvi vek zatekao nas je sa tragičnim sudbinama ljudi koji su bili prisiljeni da napuste svoje domove i pregaze surove kilometre ne bi li pronašli mesto gde mogu da započnu novi, bolji život.

Ciklus filmova „Imaginarna geografija“ sačinjen je od dokumentarnih ostvarenja koje je odabrao David Varela (Docma - Asociación de cine documental), a koji prikazuju migracije kroz različite epohe, na različitim meridijanima. Bilo da beleže slučajeve i intimne ispovesti iz prošlosti i sadašnjosti, ovi filmovi svakim metrom filmske trake istražuju razloge koji dovode do migracija stanovništva, ispituju sudbine ljudi koji pokušavaju da naprave još jedan korak ka novom danu, ali i preispituju odnose koje nova sredina uspostavlja prema njima.

Filmovi koje je Varela odabrao vešto igraju na granici između surove svakodnevnice koja ostaje iza i neizvesnih novih sudbina koje čekaju ispred. Premda ih povezuju španske granice, ove priče uveliko nadilaze okvire jedne zemlje, pokazujući da su problemi prijatelja na drugom kraju planete uvek i svuda problemi svih nas.

A pesar de que las migraciones han sido una parte integral de nuestra historia, parece que nos produce bastante sorprensa cuando pasan a ser parte de nuestra vida cotidiana. El siglo XXI nos ha asombrado con el destino trágico de personas que se vieron obligadas a abandonar sus hogares y desplazarse varios miles de kilómetros para encontrar un lugar donde comenzar una nueva y mejor vida.

El programa “Geografía Imaginaria” está compuesto por documentales seleccionados por David Varela (Docma - Asociación de cine documental) y retratan los procesos migratorios a lo largo de diferentes épocas y distintos meridianos. Ya sea registrando casos o a través de confesiones íntimas del pasado y del presente, estas películas investigan las razones por las que se emigra, cuestionan el destino de las personas que luchan para dar un paso más hacia un nuevo día, y revisan las relaciones establecidas entre los lugareños y los recién llegados.

Películas que Varela ha elegido habilmente, que se mueven en la línea entre la dura vida cotidiana que queda atrás y el destino incierto de la nueva esperanza futura. Aunque están conectadas por las fronteras españolas, van mucho más allá del marco de un solo país, demostrando que los problemas de nuestros amigos del otro lado del planeta son, y siempre serán, los problemas de todos nosotros.

Even though migrations have been an integral part of our history, it seems that we were pretty surprised when they became the part of our everyday lives. Twenty-first century has shocked us with the tragic fate of the people who were forced to leave their homes and pass kilometres long journey in order to find a place where they can start a new better life.

Our program “Imaginary geography” is made of documentaries selected by David Varela (Docma - Asociación de cine documental) and portraits a migration throughout different epochs and different meridians. Whether they record cases or intimate confessions from the past and present, these movies, with each and every meter of film strips, investigate the reasons that lead to people’s migrations; question the fate of the people who are struggling to make one more step towards a new day; review the relations established between the locals and the newcomers.

Movies that Varela has chosen, skilfully play on the line between the harsh everyday life that remains behind and the uncertain fate, waiting outside. Although they are connected by the Spanish borders, these stories go far beyond the framework of just one country, demonstrating that the problems of our friends on the other side of the planet are and always will be the problems of all of us.

Zašto su Španci napustili svoje domove i otišli u Švajcarsku, između ostalog? Dokumentarni film „Zabeleške o emigracijiˮ predstavlja prekretnicu u istoriji španske dokumentarne kinematografije.

Zasnovan je na istraživanju motiva koji su španske radnike vodili u emigraciju krajem 50-ih i početkom 60-ih godina 20. veka, iza kojih neretko stoji ironična i setna vizija zemlje koju su ostavili iza sebe.

¿Por qué los españoles abandonaron sus hogares para ir a Suiza –entre otros lugares? Notas sobre la emigración es un punto de inflexión en la historia del documentalismo español. El documental se plantea como una investigación sobre los motivos que llevaron a los trabajadores españoles a emigrar a finales de la década de los cincuenta y principios de los sesenta, tras los que hay muchas veces una visión irónica y melancólica del país que dejaron atrás.

Why did the Spaniards leave their homes to go to Switzerland among other places? Notes on emigration is a turning point in the history of Spanish documentarism. The documentary is considered to be an investigation into the reasons that led Spanish workers to emigrate in the late 1950s and early 1960s, after which there is often an ironic and melancholic view of the country they left behind.

Te žene morale su da napuste sve što imaju, svesne da će morati da sačekaju povratak u domovinu da bi ponovo počele da žive. Kako godine u Španiji prolaze, sve je bliži ponovni gubitak veze s korenima.

En varias casas de Madrid, unas mujeres cuidan de los hijos y de los padres de otras personas para que sus propias familias salgan adelante en algún lugar de América Latina. Ellas han tenido que dejarlo todo, sabiendo que tendrán que esperar hasta su regreso para volver a vivir. Los años van pasando en España y un nuevo proceso de desarraigo se intuye.

In several houses in Madrid, women take care of their children and the parents of other people so that their own families can move forward somewhere in Latin America. They had to leave everything, knowing that they will have to wait until their return to their homeland to live again. The years are passing in Spain and a new process of uprooting is intuited.

Tarajal: desmontando la impunidad en la frontera sur denuncia los hechos ocurridos el 6 de febrero de 2014, cuando al menos 15 personas murieron ahogadas en Ceuta, en la frontera entre España y Marruecos. Un grupo de más de 200 personas migrantes intentaron entrar por la playa del Tarajal y fueron rechazadas por efectivos de la Guardia Civil con balas de goma y botes de humo cuando aún estaban en el mar. El objetivo: reabrir la causa que fue archivada el pasado mes de octubre sin que se haya depurado ninguna responsabilidad policial ni política.

Tarajal: dismantling impunity on the southern border denounces the events that took place on February 6, 2014, when at least 15 people were drowned in Ceuta on the border between Spain and Morocco.

A group of more than 200 migrants attempted to enter the beach of Tarajal and were rejected by Civil Guard troops with rubber bullets and smoke cans while they were still at sea. The objective: to reopen the case that was filed last October without any police or political responsibility being cleared.

Grupa izbeglica iz Konga blokirana je u Rabatu. Granica sa Španijom sprečava ih da uđu u Evropu. U sobi na periferiji grada uvežbavaju pozorišnu predstavu o sopstvenom iskustvu. U pitanju je nepotpuno, nedovršeno delo: stvarni život pomešan s predstavom. Jedan od njih, Apoliner, direktno nam pripoveda priču o beskrajnom putovanju s neizvesnim krajem. Televizijski zapisi prikazuju migrante proterane u pustinju, primorane da otpočnu putovanje iz početka. To su lica čija su imena izgubljena. Iza njih ostaje praznina proživljenih događaja; nečujni tragovi koji otkrivaju povest istovetnu našoj.

Un grupo de refugiados del Congo está bloqueado en Rabat. La frontera con España les impide cruzar a Europa. En una remota habitación en la periferia de la ciudad ensayan una pieza de teatro sobre su propia experiencia. Una obra imperfecta, inacabada. La vida real se confunde con su representación. Entre ellos, Apollinaire cuenta, frontalmente, un eterno viaje de final incierto. Archivos televisivos muestran migrantes expulsados al desierto, obligados a empezar de nuevo. Rostros que han perdido sus nombres. Detrás permanecen los espacios vacíos de lo sucedido. Huellas silenciosas que revelan su historia como nuestra.

A group of refugees from the Congo are stuck in Rabat. The Spanish borderline stops them from entering Europe. In a room on the outskirts of the city they rehearse a theatrical piece based on their own experiences. An imperfect, unfinished staging. Real life and the stage are all mixed together. Apollinaire tells us, face to face, about the never-ending journey with an uncertain ending. Television images show us how many emigrants are expelled into the desert, forced to start their journey from the beginning. Faces whose names are lost. Behind them, the empty spaces of what has already happened.

Silent tracks tell a story which is the same as ours.

Specifičnost današnjih migracija ljudi iz Afrike pretvorila se u jedan od najvećih izazova brojnih zemalja. Irene Gutjeres bavi se temama koje su joj bliske: rodnim gradom Seutom, sopstvenim detinjstvom i Nuelom Papijem, imigrantom koji joj je dao svoj telefon s video snimcima. Autorka putem naracije, glasova imigranata i slika iz različitih izvora (video zapisa s mobilnog telefona, očevih snimaka napravljenih kamerom Super8, te raznih savremenih obreda) prikazuje intimne priče o životnim situacijama koje se događaju mnogim ljudima u mnogim gradovima i državama širom sveta.

La presente migración de personas desde África, una situación particular, se ha convertido en uno de los desafíos mayores de los estados. Irene Gutiérrez sitúa su mirada en los aspectos más cercanos, su ciudad de nacimiento, Ceuta, su infancia y en Nuel Papy, un inmigrante que la dio su móvil lleno de vídeos. Irene Gutiérrez Torres muestra los relatos íntimos de una situación común en muchas ciudades, países y personas distintas a lo largo del mundo a través de su narración, las voces de los inmigrantes y de diversas fuentes de imagen (las actuales del móvil, las grabadas por su padre en Super8 además de diferentes ritos actuales).

The present migration of people from Africa, a particular situation, has become one of the major challenges of the states. Irene Gutiérrez places her eyes on the closest aspects, her birthplace, Ceuta, her childhood and in Nuel Papy, an immigrant who gave her his mobile full of videos. Irene Gutiérrez Torres shows the intimate stories of a common situation in many cities, countries and people throughout the world through her narration, the voices of immigrants and various sources of image (the current mobile, recorded by her father in Super8 in addition to different rites today).

Jubilarno izdanje otvara nova crna komedija Aleksa de la Iglesije o grupi ljudi zarobljenih u baru. Kao i uvek kada je o ovom autoru reč, zaplet je povod za dobru zabavu, ali i lucidnu analizu vremena u kojem živimo.

Savremeni trenutak obeležava i ekonomska kriza, čije ćemo neočekivane posledice na porodični život imati prilike da vidimo iz dve različite perspektive: u filmu „Početak vremena“ kroz vizuru ostarelog bračnog para i u „Ta divna mladost“ u kojem mladi bračni par odlučuje da snimi porno film kako bi došli do novca za život.

Uvek zanimljive istorijske teme zastupljene su adaptacijom Lorkine „Krvave svadbe“ u filmu „Mlada“, kao i pričom o španskoj koloniji na Filipinima u „1898. Poslednji Filipinci“.

Venecijanski laureat i višestruki dobitnik Goje, „Osveta na čekanju“ je uzbudljivi triler o osveti jednog običnog čoveka, dok „Podneblja” koji zatvara festival, prikazuje savremeni Peru kroz tri ženske sudbine.

Nezaobilazne komedije ove godine u fokus stavljaju prijateljstvo: „Nerazdvojni“, argentinski rimejk čuvenih francuskih „Nedodirljivih“, zatim veliki meksički bioskopski hit „Guten Tag, Ramon“, „Papiri na vetru“ koji povezuje prijateljstvo i fudbal, kao i komedije o 40-godišnjacima „Srećnih 140“ i „U četrdesetim“.

Slaveći jubilej, neizostavno se moramo setiti Nebojše Popovića, dugogodišnjeg urednika filmskog programa Dvorane Kulturnog centra Beograda i jednog od osnivača Španskog metra. Kao veliki zaljubljenik u španski film i kulturu, Nebojša je svojim znanjem, posvećenošću i energijom profilisao ovu manifestaciju. Verujemo da nismo izneverili njegovu viziju.

Esta edición especial se inaugura con la nueva comedia negra de Álex de la Iglesia sobre un grupo de personas atrapadas en un bar. Tratándose de este autor, es habitual que un contratiempo sea el punto de partida para la diversión, pero también para un análisis lúcido del tiempo que nos ha tocado vivir.

Las consecuencias inesperadas de la crisis económica se revisan desde dos puntos de vista: en la película “El comienzo del tiempo”, a través de la historia de una pareja de ancianos, y en “Hermosa juventud”, donde un joven matrimonio decide rodar una película porno para ganar algo de dinero.

Siempre interesantes, los temas históricos se podrán disfrutar en “La novia”, adaptación de “Bodas de sangre” de Federico García Lorca, así como en la superproducción sobre una de las últimas colonias españolas: “1898. Los últimos de Filipinas”.

La ganadora de varios Goya en 2017, “Tarde para la ira”, es un trepidante thriller sobre la venganza de un hombre común y corriente, mientras que “Climas” nos muestra el Perú más actual a través de los desiguales destinos de tres mujeres.

No pueden faltar tampoco las comedias, este año enfocadas en la amistad: “Inseparables”, remake de la francesa “Intouchables”, el éxito de taquilla mexicano “Guten Tag, Ramón”, “Papeles en el viento” que relaciona la amistad con el fútbol, o el humor peruano sobre los cuarentañeros, “A los 40”, el mismo punto de partida de la sorprendente “Felices 140”.

No podemos olvidar celebrando este aniversario a nuestro compañero Nebojsa Popovic, editor del programa de cine del KCB durante muchos años y uno de los fundadores del festival Hispanometraje. Como gran enamorado del cine y la cultura española que fue, Nebojsa dejó huella en este festival con su experiencia, su conocimiento, dedicación y energía. Nos gustaría pensar que hemos podido conservar sus ideales en torno a este proyecto.

This special edition opens with Álex de la Iglesia’s new black comedy about a group of people trapped in a bar. As always when it comes to this author, the plot is the starting point for fun, but also for a lucid analysis of the times that we are living in.

The contemporary situation is also marked by the economic crisis, whose unexpected consequences can be observed from two different points of view: in the film “The beginning of time”, through the story about an elderly couple, as well as in “Beautiful Youth “, where a young couple decides to shoot a porn film to earn some money.

Always interesting, the historical themes are present in “The Bride”, adaptation of “Blood Wedding” by Federico García Lorca, as well as in the film about one of the last Spanish colonies: “1898. Last stand in the Philippines”.

The winner of several Goya awards in 2017 and awarded at the last Venice festival, “The fury of a patient man”, is an exciting thriller about the revenge of an ordinary man, while “Climate”, which is closing the festival, shows us the most contemporary Peru through different destinies of three women.

The inevitable comedies, this year are focused on friendship: “Inseparables”, Argentine remake of the famous French film “Intouchables”, the great success of Mexican box offices “Guten Tag, Ramón”, “Papers in the wind” that relates friendship with football, or Peruvian humor about the forties, “ In your 40’s”, the same starting point as in the surprising “Happy 140”.

Celebrating this important anniversary, we cannot forget our partner Nebojsa Popovic, editor of the Belgrade Cultural Center’s film program for many years and one of the founders of Hispanometraje.

As a great lover of Spanish cinema and culture, Nebojsa marked it from the beginning with his knowledge, dedication and energy. We would like to believe we haven´t failed his vision of this event.

Antonio y Bertha son una pareja de ancianos que ronda los noventa. Sus problemas inician cuando les retiran las pensiones debido la crisis social y financiera que vive el país. Ante la necesidad de subsistir solos ya que sus dos hijos no los han visto desde hace varios años, se ven en la dura necesidad de vender sus pertenencias, preparar comida callejera y hasta robar. La vida de los dos ancianos cambia cuando su hijo Jonás y su nieto Paco, ausentes por más de diez años, aparecen inesperadamente.

Antonio and Bertha are an elderly couple in their nineties who find themselves in deep trouble when pensions are suspended due to a social and financial crisis in their country. Given they haven’t seen their two children for many years, the couple is confronted with the need to survive on their own and must face the hard reality of selling their belongings and peddling tamales on the street or turn to crime. The lives of the elderly couple change when their son Jonas and grandson Paco, absent for more than ten years, unexpectedly reappear in their lives.

A finales del siglo XIX, en la colonia española de Filipinas, un destacamento español fue sitiado en el pueblo de Baler, en la isla filipina de Luzón, por insurrectos filipinos revolucionarios, durante 337 días. En diciembre de 1898, con la firma del Tratado de París entre España y Estados Unidos, se ponía fin formalmente a la guerra entre ambos países y España cedía la soberanía sobre Filipinas a Estados Unidos. Debido a esto, los sitiados en Baler son conocidos como “los últimos de Filipinas”.

The Siege of Baler (July 1, 1898 – June 2, 1899) was a battle of the Philippine Revolution and concurrently the Spanish–American War and the Philippine–American War. Filipino revolutionaries laid siege to a fortified church manned by colonial Spanish troops in the town of Baler, Philippines for 11 months, or 337 days. The battle is considered part of the Spanish–American War since the Filipinos were allied with the United States at the outset. That war ended in December 1898 with Spain’s surrender and annexation of the Philippines to the United States. However, cut off from communications with their own government and military, the Spanish forces continued their defense against the Filipino forces until 1899.

Two lovers carried away by their passion defying all moral and social rules even challenging their own judgment. The same day of her wedding, the bride and her lover escape on horseback to live their love. Their disobedience will have devastating consequences.

Ramón, un joven de una ranchería del norte del país, harto de cruzar la frontera de Estados Unidos y ser siempre detenido, decide buscar a la tía de un amigo en Alemania. Pero al llegar no encuentra a la tía. Sin dinero, sin papeles y sin hablar otro idioma más que el suyo, sobrevive en las calles hasta que conoce a Ruth, una solitaria enfermera jubilada, quien le ofrece apoyo. Utilizando el lenguaje universal de la solidaridad, ambos se ayudan mutuamente.

A heartwarming story of a young man from a small Mexican town who travels to Germany to find work to support his family and becomes stranded without shelter or money. He struggles to survive on the streets until he meets Ruth, a lonely senior citizen with whom he develops an astonishing and touching friendship that transcends borders and prejudices.

Con lo que no cuentan los invitados es con la noticia que Elia tiene que comunicarles: ha sido la ganadora del bote del Euromillones de esa semana. Tras la noticia de que Elia era la ganadora de los 140 millones de euros del bote, los invitados comienzan a idear planes para quedarse con el dinero.

Elia gathers a group of friends and family at a fancy holiday home to celebrate her 40th birthday. The guests do not expect what Elia has to tell them: she has won the EuroMillions lottery jackpot. When they receive the news she has won 140 million euros, the guests start planning how they are going to end up with the money.

Tres mujeres de diferentes edades y orígenes viven en tres regiones del Perú. Eva es una niña que despierta a su sexualidad rodeada por el clima tropical de la Amazonia. Victoria es una limeña adinerada con un trágico secreto que hace que su vida sea fría y gris como la ciudad en la que habita. Zoraida es una anciana de una comunidad andina que recibe a su hijo tras una larga ausencia.
