Congratulations and a big thank-you to our outgoing Captains Ivan Fornazeric and Najla Bartette. You will, I’m sure, feel very proud of what you have achieved with the hard work that you did during your tenure. Enjoy your ‘retirement’! Thanks must go to the team at Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) who have worked incredibly hard over the hot, humid summer to prepare the course for us for the start of the season. Thank you so much to each and every one of you for all the hard work you do throughout the year but especially during the harsh summer temperatures as we look forward to playing on our magnificent courses again. It’s always amazing to come back to play on the Majlis and on the Faldo to see both courses looking so lush after the summer ! Going on past experience, it’s really only in October that most members start playing regularly in the competitions but from then until the end of May it will be non-stop; the season’s golf calendar is already available online and at the Golf Reservations desk so please make a note of all the important events to avoid any clashes along the way. We have a wonderful Club so enjoy every minute; we really have a special place here and we are lucky to have the superb service and fantastic colleagues looking after us…it’s not the same everywhere in the world! Feel free to contact me on jaxdubai@gmail.com if you have any news or articles that you would like to have included in Club Life magazine. Have a great season and enjoy your golf
Jacqui
I
hope that you had an enjoyable summer; it was great to see an influx of members during the opening weekend of September with over 200 golfers on the Majlis course. The summer has flown by and we welcome our new Club Captains Paul Byrne and Sulafa Hamdan who have now started their term in office. Supporting them throughout another busy season will be Ishu Rupani and Yana Jamieson (our Vice-Captains) best of luck to you all and enjoy the season ahead. This is a very special year as their Captaincy will also include the 30th Anniversary of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic at the end of January.

You may have read in my previous letter that the Peter Cowen Academy Dubai has now moved from its home on the Faldo driving range to the left of the Majlis driving range. The Professionals, Academy Assistants and Pro Shop (hardware) can be found to the left of the driving range in the white building adjacent to the Faldo putting green. This facility is an improvement from the previous home in the Par 3 hut and it will house a physical screening assessment room, lounge and television and Pro Shop with all the latest hardware. Additionally the Professionals will be available to provide advice on relevant equipment and carry out custom fitting sessions to guide members and guests on their choice of the latest equipment. The professional team also looks forward to integrating more with the membership as their new base will be adjacent to your dedicated practice area. Top Golf Update

At the present time the Par 3 car park will remain operational; additionally check-in for the Par 3 course will remain as per the existing location, in the Par 3 hut. Check-in for golf lessons has been relocated to the Majlis driving range (left hand side) as detailed above. Dubai Golf Website Re-Launch Our Marketing and IT teams have been working hard over the past few months on the redesign of our website; you will see the new platform launch this month so I hope you find it improves your on-line experience and that it will become the ‘go-to’ platform for all news
and updates at the Club. I encourage you to browse your member zone from time to time to make sure you make the most of your investment as an Emirates Golf Club Member and discover all events and activities taking place throughout the season. Environmental Good Practice

Part of Dubai Golf’s mission statement is to realise our organisational responsibilities in terms of looking after our environment; you will have noticed the recent additions of the Electric Car Charging station in the car park plus the recycling receptacles throughout the facility so please help us with our recycling initiatives. Throughout the early part of the season you will also see some changes to reduce our plastic consumption on-site; for example, in Golf Operations in 2017 we used 220,000 bottles of water which are handed out to members and guests prior to their rounds. Please support me and the Club as we will be introducing various measures to reduce our plastic consumption. More will follow on these green initiatives shortly.

Dear Members,
Club Mana Report
W
elcome to the 2018-2019 season at Emirates Golf Club and to our new Captains, Paul Byrne and Sulafa Hamdan, along with their Vice-Captains, Ishu Rupani and Yana Jamieson. The season ahead promises to be busy with many golf and social events planned which will be exciting and fun. Without a doubt, Paul and Sulafa will do a great job so please support them in whichever way you can and please also try to support the many events taking place at the Club. It’s a great ‘hub’ especially now that the clubhouse has been totally revamped and the various outlets have been up and running for some time…Jones the Grocer, Spike Bar and Terrace, Members’ Lounge and Terrace and Carine restaurant. All outlets offer different types of food and theme nights so don’t forget to check them out. I was back in Dubai during the summer and I could not believe how busy Carine restaurant was and there were even people waiting for a table to become available which is testament to the great food and atmosphere there. Long may it continue and congratulations to Chef Izu and his team on creating this very special place!
EMIRATES GOLF CLUB SENIOR MANAGEMENT
Food and Beverage Since the opening of Jones the Grocer in November 2017 plus the relocation of Spike Bar in the same month, along with the launch of Carine restaurant in March 2018, I have been delighted to see so many of you using our dining facilities and supporting your Club. I would like to remind or inform you that all food and beverage expenditure that you put through your membership account is rewarded with our reward vouchers. A spend of AED 3,000 per month is rewarded with a AED 300 voucher for use in either of our dining outlets. Since the launch of our new outlets we have seen a positive response from you in terms of footfall and support; Spike Bar is 55% members (10% increase on 2017) and Carine is 45% members (12% increase from 2017 and Le Classique). As expected, Jones the Grocer is less at 25% member-orientated. Once again, thank you for your support of the changes and we look forward to the re-opening of our Terrace areas by mid-September. If you haven’t yet tried Carine restaurant then I encourage you to do so, Chef Izu and his team have been a fabulous addition to the Club. To help maintain and improve standards across all facilities please feel free to forward me any comments so we can strive to meet and exceed your expectations. On the topic of loyalty, I recently spoke to a couple of members who were not aware of a loyalty aspect of our membership so I have included the information below that is circulated each membership renewal. All full golf memberships (excluding week-day membership) which have been maintained for at least three consecutive years will receive a credit of AED 2,500 to their account which can be used against any purchases in the Club. Any full golf membership (excluding week-day membership) which has been maintained for at least seven consecutive years will receive a credit of AED 3,500. Member accounts are credited on full receipt of the annual subscriptions for that specific year. I look forward to seeing you at the Club soon. Best regards, Barney Coleman Club Manager

I
t is my honour and pleasure to introduce myself as the new Captain for the 2018/19 season. My honeymoon period of ViceCaptain is over and now the real work starts. I am originally from Ireland and I have been living in Dubai for 11 years. I was very fortunate to join Emirates Golf Club in 2009 and I feel extremely privileged to be a member of this world-class facility that we have right in the heart of Dubai. I want to contribute to the Club and to continue the legacy of all Past Captains who have contributed and brought the Club to where it stands now. We should feel very proud of our Club and everything it offers its members and a guests. We have two outstanding courses, three restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets, a superb management team and wonderful colleagues who make all our experiences so pleasant, making it a joy to visit the Club. The Club calendar is complete for the season and I hope to see as many of you as possible at the competitions, tournaments, events and functions the Club has organised for the year. It is important that we support the many events throughout the year, in particular the golf tournaments and competitions we play. It is
great to play in them but it is equally important to stay for the presentations afterwards to show our appreciation to all the winners. Please take a calendar card from reception so you can see the list of upcoming competitions and events.
their experiences and advice to continue the great work they put into the Club. We might see them in the winner’s circle more often now that the Captaincy pressure is off. I hope you both enjoy your golf.
I would like to thank wasl, Chris and Barney for giving me this opportunity and I will make sure that the high standards we have at the Club are upheld. I would particularly like to praise Barney, Rhys and Cian on the professionalism they show in leading our Club and to all the wonderful and courteous colleagues we have. Without the support from them all we would not have the first class Club that we have today.
Like all Captains we need a support team and I am delighted to welcome Ishu and Yana to their roles of Vice-Captains. I am looking forward to working with them and I know that they will be of great support throughout the year.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate and wish our Lady Captain all the best for her coming season. Sulafa is a wonderful person who is so accommodating and eager to chat to members and guests and I am positive that she will be a fantastic Lady Captain. I look forward to working together and sharing lots of laughs along the way . I would also like to thank our previous Captains Ivan and Najla. They were a credit to the Club in all they contributed and I was delighted to work closely with them. They are both a hard act to follow and I am sure I will rely on

ere we are, almost at the end of the summer, a time for many new beginnings. For me, it was in the form of ‘the dreaded email’ from Jacqui asking me for this write up. My holiday was over and I now had to assume my role as Lady Captain and to report to duty. It all went by so incredibly fast! It really goes without saying that I am writing this with pride, joy and albeit a little apprehension. Pride, because our Club is world renown and being Lady Captain of such a wonderful institution fills my heart with deep-rooted pride. How can it not? Joy, because golf gives me so much of it and I would like to return this to the Club, to our members and to our wonderful colleagues and support teams who make it home for so many of us on a daily basis. I really do look forward to many happy moments on and off the course, socially, in the various restaurants and possibly even in the gym. The role and privilege of being Lady Captain comes with a certain weight and that is why I feel a little apprehensive too. My personal aspiration is to make it a great year for as many people as possible and in as many ways as I know how. I hope to be able to achieve that. Having been asked on many occasions whether I am looking
forward to my Captaincy, I can now better articulate my feelings, rather than a simple “Yes, of course I am”. I’m really looking forward to all the fun we’ll have in the ladies’ section; I look forward to meeting new members and getting to know the ones I already know even better; and I also look forward to managing the challenges I may face. I have big shoes to fill as I follow on from Najla’s Captaincy; working with her was instrumental for me and our partnership developed into a true and lasting friendship. Najla, well done for doing an incredible job last year; you aced every task you took on and it was an honour to be your Vice-Captain. Thank you and to Ivan as well, for your support and dedication throughout the year. To Paul, Yana and Ishu, I wish you all the best and I look forward to working with a great new team this year. Finally, to get a few dates into your diaries early on, please take note of the following key events. September will see a mild season opening with our Stableford tournaments. It will no doubt still be hot, but I hope you ladies will have adjusted to the weather and that you will be ready to tee off with a Medal at the end of the month.

chool’s out, exams are done and before I knew it I was on a flight to the United States to play in my last junior tournaments.
Kicking off my summer I played in the IMG junior qualifier at Sycuan Golf resort in San Diego, California. I had not realized that it was not a three-day tournament but instead, a one-day event; I shot -7 for a 64, my best tournament score yet, thanks to a piping hot putter and a fairway-finding hybrid, catapulting me to my first ever IMG Junior World tournament at Torrey Pines, host to the 2021 US Open and the Farmers Insurance Open PGA tournament. I hustled to an 80 starting off with a +5 10 on my opening hole; the following day was tough being -1 through 8 and finishing 77. However, it was an amazing atmosphere and experience, despite a missed cut. A break is what I needed after playing 10 hours daily for two weeks straight. Not a club was touched the week I was in Tampa,

Florida visiting good friends who kindly hosted me. With my mind cleared, I was now prepared for the challenge of the Teen World Championship at the Pinehurst Resort, North Carolina. Course No. 8 at Pinehurst was the course I had been playing in my head ever since the previous year, visualising each tee and approach shot and position on the undulating greens so I was oozing with confidence. Teeing off the notorious 10th hole, where I had made no better than a bogey in all the years I had played the course, I started with back to back doubles. I huffed and puffed, scrambling for a 79, placing me T70 after day one. “I can do better than that”, I thought to myself during the car ride home. Day two came, and, once again teeing off the 10th hole, I made a triple bogey after a wayward tee shot, forcing me to grind for a 75, placing me T46 - an improvement which guaranteed I would
make the cut and play on the iconic and historical US Open Course No. 2. Before I could celebrate making the cut for the first time in playing the Teen World, it was crucial I kept my cool and maintain my focus; “It ain’t over yet”, I thought to myself. 30 minutes of practice is all I needed including two putts and three chips to get used to one of the toughest greens in the world. On the front nine I was on fire with a bogey free -2 but then came the delay of the final group starting on the first and the sudden realisation of the roll I was on, resulting in a +3 on the back nine and a 73 finish, the second best score of the day on the tough course, rocketing my position to T11. This was truly the cherry on the cake of my trip to the States. Being back in the blistering heat of Dubai I can’t help but look forward to playing College golf in the US. Bradley Mogire

• Place alignment rod A six inches outside the strike area, parallel to the intended flight/target line. • Place alignment rod B along your feet line, parallel to alignment rod A. • Place alignment rod C at 90 degrees to alignment rod B pointing at the strike area. Your feet, knees, hips, forearms and shoulders should be aligned to rod B and your clubface should be at 90 degrees to A & B to create a square clubface. Rod C will allow you to achieve correct ball position for the desired club. Working within this work station will ensure that your practice drills are 100% productive to allow you to transfer perfect aim and alignment to the course. The philosophy is to build it, not find it, starting from the ground up with good basic foundations, body movement, then power and attitude. The width of your stance will vary slightly depending on which club you are using; a good start position is to have the inside of you feet shoulder width apart for a 5 iron. Automatic Game Registration for Golferscard
W
elcome back to all members following the summer break. During the summer we have been working to link our golf booking system with the handicap software, Golferscard.
to record your scores within 72 hours of completing your round to take advantage of this upgraded service.
From Sunday 12th August, we launched a new system whereby all rounds (9 and 18 holes) will automatically be registered on your Golferscard account after you have checked-in with the Golf Reservations Team or Starter. This is an important process in line with the USGA and EGF requirements for official handicap records. It is anticipated that this will result in a more efficient and user-friendly process for all of our members to keep their playing handicaps accurate and fully up to date. The main benefit of this process is that all individual rounds will be recorded on each golfer’s handicap account. In other formats played, for example a scramble or greensomes, or if playing alone it will not be required to record these scores, as per the usual handicap guidelines set by the USGA and EGF. Please remember
1. Do not register games yourselves, it will cause duplicate games leading to penalty scores.
To help us with this new system please adopt the following:
2. Please inform the reservations team or starter if you intend to play 9 or 18 holes so we can register your game accurately. 3. Please inform the team if you are playing alone, we need to remove these games as there is no other players to verify your score if needed. 4. Incomplete Rounds: If 13 or more holes are played, you must post an 18 hole score. If 7 to 12 holes are played, you must post a 9 hole score. If 6 holes or less are played then please ask the team to delete the game.
On 13th September the Majlis course plays host to the DHL Swing Against Cancer Golf Series. Emirates Golf Club members play for just AED 395 inclusive of golf, BBQ, beverages and Q&A with Lee Sharpe. Contact info@swingagainstcancer.com to reserve your place!
Scores for the holes not played must be recorded as par PLUS any handicap strokes that the player is entitled to receive on the holes not played (net par). We will no longer be printing the handicap slips so please check your handicap index on this PC, EGF APP, at the reservations desk whilst checking in or at the first tee with the starter. Thank you If you experience any problems or require any further information regarding the automatic registration of games please do not hesitate to contact Rhys or Cian.
As always, Fit Lab likes to keep on evolving each year with new offerings and improvements. I am pleased to say that we have improved the lower level of the gym adjacent to the studio to create a new Pilates Reformer Room. Our fantastic Pilates Instructor Jeanique is regarded as one of the best Pilates Instructors in Dubai so, if you are looking to improve your flexibility and core strength, this is a must-try. Pilates is also fantastic for golf; I have been doing Pilates over the past six months and, although my golf hasn’t improved, my flexibility and core sure has.
I would like to introduce our new colleague Christopher Mallet to the Fit Lab Team. Chris has 10 years’ experience working in the fitness industry alongside some of the top trainers and Strength & Conditoing coaches London has to offer. Further to completing his Level 3 Personal Training qualification, Chris has gone on to further his skills in boxing, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning with manual therapy and kettlebell strength training. His ethos is simple, effective results-based training tailored to meet the clients’ needs. Watch out for our new Boxercise Class with Chris and come and try a free session.
Exercise Tip Of The Month by Chris Mallet
Are you an avid golfer? Would you like to improve your swing? Here is my tip on how to make that happen.
THE FOAM ROLLER When used correctly the foam roller can help to improve your body’s ability to swing a golf club effectively and consistently but most importantly without injury. We all know that prevention is better than cure, so with that in mind, using the foam roller just a couple of times per week can help to reduce muscular tension, improve circulation and improve coordination, all of which are key factors every golfer should consider, regardless of ability or experience.
Atkins, Keto, Paleo, Low carb, High protein, Intermittent fasting are just a few among the vast array of dieting options there are to choose from in today’s world. So which one is the best? Which one is for you? And will it help you reach your health and fitness goals? The truth is, the best diet is the one that you can follow. Can you sustain it? Do you enjoy it? Does it fit in with your current lifestyle? These are all questions that we should ask ourselves before trying to commit to something new. A healthy balance of macronutrients and micronutrients are the basic essentials of any good diet plan. Proteins, fats and carbohydrates along with important vitamins and minerals for optimum health and performance should be the foundation of our daily food intake. Sources of protein include chicken, fish, tofu, nuts, red meats and lentils. It’s fairly common knowledge that protein helps with muscle growth and recovery but it also helps to suppress the ghrelin hormone (or hunger hormone) so that we don’t feel the need to overeat, which is what eventually leads to weight gain. Of course, protein is an important post workout
TRIGGER POINT BALLS As with any sport, the build up of muscular tension through repeated movements can bring about pain due to muscular imbalance and certain muscles over working or ‘compensating’ as a result. Trigger point (knot in the muscle) ball is useful in helping to prevent the need for regular massages.
essential but so too are carbohydrates. Since we burn through our glycogen (main energy source) whilst doing exercise, it is important to replenish this power supply to our brain and body. Sources of carbohydrates include sweet potatoes, brown or white rice (little difference between the two, contrary to popular belief), fruit, legumes, white potatoes and vegetables.
15 Fit Lab
elcome back after the summer break The Fit Lab Team and I truly hope that you had an amazing time and that you are ready to burn those extra calories you may have put on over the holiday period.
Nutrition Tip Of The Month
Controlling your weight, or more importantly, the body’s composition is about making smart decisions. Gram for gram there are the same amount of calories in protein as there are in carbohydrates, so why do carbs get a bad name? Well, unlike protein, carbs help your body to retain water (3g to every 1g of carbs) so while the calorie intake is the same, the added water weight is the number people often see on the scale. So with a high protein, moderate carb and low fat diet (along with regular exercise of course) a healthy, happy and sustainable lifestyle awaits you! The Fit Lab Team looks forward to welcoming you to the department. If you have any queries kindly contact one of us at any time and we will be more than happy to assist. Healthy Regards Andy Meech Head of Sports & Leisure
Muscles in the chest, hips, shoulders, glutes and legs can all benefit from trigger point ball release techniques. Releasing the tension between the shoulder blades and around the hips will lend itself to improvements in your golf swing and will help to offer better allround performance.

ubai has developed one of the world’s largest sporting communities, with varied opportunities for a whole range of sports and fitness activities, often with challenges and competitions as an end goal to help encourage commitment. For most of us, staying active is a way of life where we challenge ourselves and push our physical boundaries, making up for the usually sedentary week at work. There may be instances where we load our body that bit beyond its limits and in some cases to breaking point before our bodies have had time to adapt. For example, running or cycling farther or faster during a new weekend group session versus the usual distances and pace we are accustomed to, or doing a new HITT workout at the gym or lifting heavier ‘than usual’ during your resistance training sessions. This is in contrast to crouching over our phones and PC’s during busy workdays, giving less attention to correct ergonomic postures. The sudden additional load placed on our bodies can result in pain, injuries and suffering.

athletes up to an elite level, Sports Medicine Doctors also diagnose and treat any pain or injury that affects movement and the ability to carry out daily tasks.
TYPES OF INJURIES TREATED Acute injuries are a sudden event linked to trauma or an unusual movement causing sprains, strains, contusions resulting in pain, swelling, bruising and limitation of use. Chronic injuries are usually caused by overuse, abnormal use or the use of poor equipment/ shoes and include injuries such as tendonitis, shin splints, bursitis or stress fractures that present with progressive pain linked with a specific activity or movement. It can reach breaking point if not managed appropriately.
TREATMENT In both cases, we recommend your initial consultation be with an UPANDRUNNING Sports Medicine Doctor, who will ensure you are given a definitive diagnosis and can arrange any investigations should they be indicated. He/she will then recommend
a treatment pathway aiming to get you back as efficiently and effectively as possible, often referring to our extensive team of highly professional and skilled practitioners. There may be cases where you are referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist for conservative second opinions or surgical options.

An Introduction to Malta and our Food
Hacking explained:
Owls are enigmatic birds, regarded as mysterious, lovable, or spooky, depending on who you ask. With over 200 species living on every continent except Antarctica, owls have super-tuned senses that help them hunt prey all over the world…and they’re pretty darn cute too.
While residing in the hack box, food will be supplied to the owlets in a controlled manner through an opening that prevents them from visually seeing their human caretakers. Once the birds have grown their flight feathers, the door is opened to give the birds a chance to practise flying and hunting on their own. During this learning period, food is still provided at the hack box. As fledged birds become more efficient at hunting, their visits to the hack box decrease in frequency and eventually, these fully-fledged birds will no longer need this extra food supplement. The key to the success will be to ‘imprint’ the owls on a specific food source; in this case, the invasive crow species. By imprinting the owls to the crows, they will naturally see them as prey, thus keeping the focus on the unwanted species. This is not a permanent solution but just a natural way of trying to manage the crow population at Emirates Golf Club.
At Emirates Golf Club we released two Desert Eagle Owls by means of our Hacking Project to help control and manage the crow population.
Who am I? I am an attractive bird of prey, with striking, large orange-yellow eyes and mottled plumage. My head and upper parts are tawny and densely marked with black and creamy-white streaks and blotches, while my lower parts are pale creamy-white, with black streaks on my upper breast and fine reddish-brown vermiculations on my lower breast and belly. My face has this disc-like form typical of most owls, defined by a dark rim; my robust bill is black and hooked and my head is crowned with small ear tufts.

e Maltese love our food, so eating is something we do lots of. Food in Malta is to be sat over, enjoyed and not to
Maltese cuisine is heavily influenced by Italy, particularly Sicily, but with a dash of Arab/North Africa and a hefty pinch of Malta’s own. Starters tend to be soups, pasta, risotto, antipasti or dips with bread or biscuits, while mains include pasta and potato bakes at home, but when eating out it’s generally meat or fish. There is plenty of fresh fish. Malta is, after all, a small archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean.
Fish is typically served piquant with a combination of fresh local tomato and capers, picked wild caper bush. Lampuka (Dorado or Mahi-Mahi) is the national fish, caught as it migrates past the islands each autumn using a system of palm-frond rafts; little has changed in over a millennium. The national meat is rabbit (fenek) which comes fried in garlic, stewed in red wine, or with one of Malta’s many (usually fresh) pastas. Plenty of restaurants are now going beyond the traditional and giving the local food a modern, international twist as well as beautiful artistic presentation. As attractive as nouvelle cuisine is, it is rarely as minimalist. We Maltese like our food not only to be tasty but plentiful.

Below is a brief history of our most loved dish along with a recipe. There are a number of junctures in which development in Maltese cuisine related to issues of identity. The most significant example is the traditional Maltese stuffat tal-fenek (stewed rabbit), often identified as the national dish. This quite possibly started off as a form of symbolic resistance to the hunting restrictions imposed by the Knights of St John. The dish was to become popular after the lifting of restrictions in the late 18th century (and by which time the indigenous breed had multiplied and prices had dropped) and the domestication of rabbits, a technique which could have been imported from France thanks to the French Knights.
Rabbit Stew – Stuffat Tal-Fenek Ingredients: • 1 rabbit, (approx 1.5kg, cut into small portions) • 2 onions, chopped • 4 garlic cloves, peeled • 5 large tomatoes • 2 tsp kunserva (tomato paste) • 5 potatoes, peeled and quartered • 3 carrots, peeled and chopped • 200 g peas (fresh or canned) • 6 bay leaves • Pinch mixed herbs • Freshly ground pepper & Salt to season • 500ml red wine • 1 tsp olive oil
Method: Marinate the rabbit overnight in the red wine (marinade to include the garlic, garlic, salt & pepper) In a large pot, heat the olive oil, and add the rabbit until slightly brown. Add the onions, carrots, potatoes and the tomatoes, and pour half of the marinade on the ingredients. Bring to a boil on a high flame for about 15 minutes
Add the remaining wine, peas, bay leaves, kidney and liver and simmer on low heat for about two hours, stirring occasionally and adding some more wine if the sauce begins to dry up. Cooking variations - you can choose to make the rabbit stew to look more brown by reducing the amount of tomatoes and kunserva used. I personally prefer the rabbit stew to have very little tomato paste even if it is served with spaghetti.
Spaghetti with rabbit sauce as a starter Boil some spaghetti (leave al dente) Cover with some sauce from the rabbit stew; do not add any rabbit pieces if you are serving rabbit stew as a main course, but you can add some of the rabbit liver to the serving sauce Finely grated Parmesan cheese can be added on top. 121 players took part in Eclectic 22 which started on 30th April 2018. After just over 12 weeks, Mike Kaye took the glory! It all went down to the wire with six players in with a chance of taking first place on 23rd July. As Tony is still a professional he could not win this time; however, he put in another great performance shooting a 57 gross for the 12 weeks. Honourable mentions go to John Spackman, Nick Lowes and John Berry who put in their personal best performances in an Eclectic. However, it was Mike Kaye who came through in the end making a crucial birdie on the 14th in his last round to seal the deal from Spackers, Russell and Nick who all felt the pressure in the final round.
