Theresidentialapartmentrevolvesaroundtheideaof reducingtheheatintakeofabuildingusingfacade elementsandsimultaneouslynotcompromisingonthe facadeaestheticsoftheapartment,thusreducingthe heatintakeofthebuildinganddirectedtowardstheidea ofemphasisofthebuildingknittotheurban fabric.InspiredbytheworksofFarshidMoussavi Architecture'swinningcompetitionentrytodesigna housingcomplexforJardinsdel'Arche.Thefacade dabblesthroughtheideaofsurfacesandvoids, generatingabeautifulinterioroflightandshadows throughthevariousanglesthatthefacadeslitscanbe arrangedorprogrammedtoreducethedirectsunthat entersthebuilding.

Superstudio,PeterEisenmanandRemKoolhaasare threeofthehouseholdnamesthatcometomindwhen theideaofthegridisthoughtof.Thisprojectisareinventionoftheideologyofgridsfromtheideology calledsuperpositionsproposedbyPeterEisenman.The superimpositionofgridsatvariousscalestoprovidea positionaloverlayofgridsofvariousqualitiesofscalethat defineaformofmovementinarchitecture.TheStudent Apartmentdesignisanamalgamationof150student Studioapartmentsofvarioustypesthatre-definethe moderndaydefinitionofstudentliving.Thebuildingis orientedintheEast-Westdirection,enhancingthe qualityoflivingwithlessexposuretodirectsunlight.The massingintensifiestheideasofcrossventilation, communitylivingandtriestoenhancethequalityof millennialliving.Thepastelcolorpaletteischosentogive thebuildingacontemporaryvisualaesthetic,whilethe yellowcoloredgridenthrallstheideaofgridoverlaying aesthetics.

TheA-frameHouseorHolidayhouseenvisagestheideaofa familyspendingaholidayinthemiddleofaforestandlivingin ittothemaximumpotential.Anextensiveuseofglassand curtainwallpanelsismadetobuildtheideaofanexterior throughtheinterior,wherethelodgerwillbeabletofeellike theyarelivinginaforestandfeelsafeaboutitaswell.Sinceitis anA-frame,andthemajorspanisdirectlyexposedtothe geographicaleast-west,theshedispaintedinwhitetoreduce heatintakeandtheglasspanelsarerecessedsothatminimum heatentersthebuildingthusmaintainingthecomfortzonein thelivingspace.TheA-framehouseisconstructedonastiltto provideabetterlevelofsafetyandobservealargeareaofthe forestfromadifferentlevelratherthantheusualgroundlevel, thuspsychologicallyimbibingthecharacterofsafetytothe lodger.

HighRiseTower

Thehigh-risemixed-usetowerisacontemporaryevolutionof PeterEisenman'smovementofarrayplans,emphasisingmore ontheideaofmovementinarchitecture.Thewaythebuilding plansandfacademoveandthegradualmovementofthe surfacefromthegroundfloor,thevariationinmovementof surfaceandvoidsofthefacadeasitgraduallymovestowardsthe uppermostfloors.Thefirstsixfloorshaveasubtractedmass,the floorlevelsfromfivetotwentyhaveastraightfacadewith almostaflatfacadeaesthetic.Floorsfromtwentytoseventy haveprotrusionsorcantileverswhichportraytheburstof structuralelementsthatvisuallyfeelcompressedandbecome freetomovementastheheightincreases.Theramificationsalso dopersoniftthephenomenologyofadditivenessinarchitecture. Thisisacontemporarysustainableprojectthatjuxtaposesand overlaystwogenresofspeculatedarchitecturalfuturismandthe pragmaticapproachesofmodern-daysociety.Withthefacades encouragingthegrowthofgreenery,artificialparkscanbe mimicked,creatinganewdimensionalrelationshipbetween thetrilogyofHumans,buildingsandNature

SPATIALEXPLORATION

Thefundamentalsofarchitecturerouteforafour squaregridoraninesquaregrid.Sobasedonthe philosophyofstacking9squaregrids,exploration ofspatialpossibilitiesbystackingoneninesquare gridovertheotherortwoninesquaregridsover theothertoattainnumberofspatialpossibilitiesto confinetheparttowholerelationship

SURFACETO VOID

Thewayinwhichthestackworksisbysubtracting oraddingpreexistingsquareanddesigningitto beeitheraspacehavingsurfacesoravoidthat createsanewkindofusable(balcony)orunusable spaces.Theseformaldiagramsexploresomeoutof thevariouspossibilitiesthatcouldbedonetoa planonestoreyortwo/threestoreybuildings basedonEisenman’sideasongrids
