Exhibition Center The exhibition centre is one of the most symbolic project that projects the idea of architectural progression and movement. A single big cuboid is stacked of another cuboid bringing in the phenomenon of addition, then the mass above is subtracted at regular intervals to form the shape of a rotated “E” then the vertices are dragged and contracted at some points to give the mass a sense of unpredictability and sharpness that psychologically makes a viewer to break down his prediction of perspective thus bringing in a sense of hierarchical emphasis to the building in the urban Fabric. The idea of grids are something that I have always worked with from day 1, The overlaying of a red ribbon grid on the façade can be associated with the style façade aesthetics and also give a sense of visual scale. The overlay of grids through the usage of curtain wall panels in the shape of a grid with the overlay of the red skin grid tells the idea of superimposition of grids in various layers of various scales enhancing the idea of scalar comparisons in architecture

Studenten Wohnung Superstudio, Peter Eisenman and Rem Koolhaas are three of the household names that comes to mind when the idea of grid is taken. This project is a re-invention of the ideology of grids from the ideology called superpositions proposed by Peter Eisenman. The superimposition of grids in various scales to provide a positional overlay of grids of various qualities of scale that define a form of movement in architecture. The Student Apartment design is an amalgamation of 150 student Studio apartments of various types that re-define the modern day definition of student living. The building is oriented in the East-West direction enhancing the quality of living with less exposure to direct sunlight. The massing intensifies the ideas of cross ventilation, community living and tries the enhance the quality of millennial living. The pastel color palette is chosen to give the building a contemporary visual aesthetics, while the Red colored grid enthralls the idea of grid overlaying aesthetics.

Garden House The Garden house is a duplex villa that accommodates the idea of three-dimensional 9 square grids. The two dimensionality of grids starts to take a completely different direction of progression. The grids which were 2 dimensional in my projects start to take a dimension of space-time emphasizing the idea of architectural movement. The three dimensional nine square grids consist of structural elements distinguishing the nine void cube spaces and this brings in the idea of usage of shading and structural elements as a part of design aesthetics which explores the usage of grids in a newer direction. The grid-voids are filled with cubes and they are pushed and pulled to form architectural masses that define stability and shading thus reducing the heat intake of the building and generating a coherent ambience which breaks the monotony of modernism and brings in the idea of deconstructivism using grids.

The Grid Scraper The high-rise mixed-use tower is a contemporary evolution of Peter Eisenman’s movement of array plans philosophy, emphasising more on the movement in architecture. The way the building plans and the façade moves and the gradual movement of the surface from the ground floor and the variation in movement of facades as it moves towards the top of most floors. The first six floors have a subtracted mass. The floor levels from five to twenty have a straight façade with almost a flat façade aesthetic. Floors from twenty to seventy has protrusions or cantilevers which portray the burst of structural elements that visually feel compressed and become freer to movement as the height increases. The ramifications also do personify the phenomenology of addictiveness in architecture. This is a contemporary sustainable project that juxtaposes and overlays the two genres of speculated architectural futurism and the pragmatic approaches of the modern-day society

Farnsworth Apartments The gated apartments is a macro sized Lego project where the person inhibiting the apartment can choose any apartment based on various configuration of several BHK units as per their need. Every type of unit has two variable options making this project a really interesting one. The block includes a single unit block, and double block, and stacked double block, a triple block and a quadruple block. The design can be changed in various ways as per the requirement of the user as this is a prototype of flexible housing. The major side of the building faces the east west while all the blocks are oriented in a direction diagonal to it causing very less exposure to heat enhancing the quality of goldy-lock living conditions. The glass facades are oriented towards the northern direction thus completely nullifying glares and enhancing natural light inside the individual units to the fullest maximum extent. And also, the Ground floor is left hollow to give users a new experience of views towards buildings, breaking the monotony of seeing buildings grow from the ground, A well-developed figure-ground version of Mies Vand Der Rohe’s Farnsworth House maybe.

Boat Club Villa The beach villa at boat club is a project that interweaves the interior and the exterior ways of living by envisaging the massing of chamfers and extrusions thus bringing in the phenomenon of a decorated duck in architectural words. This was don’t with exposed brick tiling along with the contrasting whites to make the project stand out on all odds. The villa is a two-floor villa with a basement car paring and a suspension cantilever in depicting the façade of polar contrasts. The south side is completely closed with a six-meter-high wall in order to stop the sun’s radiation from penetrating into the building thus causing energy saving in a longer run. The south side and the west open towards the beautiful gardens and the first floor is also unequivocally articulated with indoor gardens to facilitate an informal meeting hall as the client is an industrialist

07 House A

House A is the very first of series of houses that were based on the superimposition of three dimensional grids consisting of three floors where structural elements are used for their aesthetic qualities and shades are also use as the façade aesthetic elements enhancing a new front of façade articulation of Superpositions as put forth in the earlier housing projects in this portfolio. This house is a process based progressive massing exploration by the usage of grasshopper thus enhancing process driven styles of exploration. The house is planned with a normal living, store, kitchen and toilet spaces in the ground floor accompanied by a private ground terrace, A bedroom and informal family room in the first floor followed by a private balcony and a bedroom with a drawing room thus creating a semi private space between two family private spaces and sharing the common amenities.
