The Ground Gambit The ground gambit is a completely post-apocalyptic design idea which I ended up speculating. This is the place where a building becomes movable from the parts taken from another building. A Megazord kind of an architectural massing, where parts come together to form a final mass. For example, this final mass of the ground gambit is the usage of Parts from Peter Eisenman’s House 2 and remixed through the lens of John Hejduk’s Moving Masques. This is a way to bring back the same built buildings by using their dissected parts to reform it through someone else’s lens that brings in an architectural frosty relationship and also encourages a completely new hybrid set of buildings as the architectural filters start to happen in reality. The final Object doesn’t have a fixed Ground. One of the reason why it was named the ground gambit is because the Gambit is played on the ground A permanent ground is sacrificed at all costs to form a reel of grounds of different aesthetics and customizable environments which could be fast coming in the future. Explaining the Diagrams - Masques The diagram on the top left represents Hejduk’s diagram of moving masques, the progression and the process of evolution. While the one in the bottom half represents the Same masques with the usage of Eisenman’s Design elements. Adding a layer of filter, in other words the disassembling and reassembling of Peter Eisenman’s House II through the lens of John Hejduk. This is what I would call the superposition of the digital era

Symbiotic Tower The symbiotic co-existence of two forms of design including the façade and the skin is a major factor triggering this experimental research was a part of my idea of a Skyscraper. The amalgamation of interweaving of two completely different design elements and twisting them to converge at the one point, was to enable the richness of the massing to be portrayed as a transmuted monolith. The colour palette is vaguely selected from the emerging artistic style of earthliness. This skyscraper is a hundred and three floor beauty with rotating floor plans as inspired from the legendary Peter Eisenman, and his ideology of array planning and conceptual version of movement through plans. This is a mixed-use skyscraper with various floor level portraying different commercial and residential uses thus making this design a self-sustaining vertical version of a gated community which depicts the present state of contemporariness with regards to the vertical growth of habits.

Death of Eisenman The death of Eisenman is a contemporary design project that questions the ideology of architectural massing and instigates the idea of architectural remix. Peter Eisenman’s House 2 is disassembled and reassembled to create a cyberpunk like surface articulation that establishes a indelibly new way of architectural massing. The interior is compromised while the exploration happens on the building surface encouraging a new dimension of surface articulation to discover new aesthetic styles. This project is a collage of three different types of architectural realms of camouflage namely, The scalar transparency, Dazzle Camouflage and Opaque Camouflage. This encourages the use of camouflage in a new contemporary way as camouflage is not only something that hides itself in plain sight but it is something that keeps a viewer in a state of dilemma of guessing as well. This project the amalgamation of all the three types together which makes it an architectural collage and a by-product of object-oriented ontology.

Symbiotic Masking Punching through the banality of daily aesthetics and bringing in the phenomenon of philosophical espresso shots, trying to transmutate this into architectural canons of aesthetics is what masking is all about. Creating a digital coherence between the alchemy of the mask and the old school existence of an object. And laying the foundation of the single line that possesses the character of duality that separates the mask and the object and rejects the interweaving of them in the five dimensional axes of space time. The mass on the whole can be dichomotised as object and surface. An object becomes the defined entity, while the surface’s prerogative is to influence the radical shift in the irregularity of the object. influencing on the shape-shift as a “part” while it ends up endeavoring the “whole” Blog about the Exploration: Click Here

Project Visage - Snapchat-like mixed Reality Filters for Building Facades Project visage is a state-of-the-art project that brought in the idea of architectural glitch facades that can make buildings invisible to the eyes of artificial intelligence. It projects an idea of how the unknown always goes unseen. This building façade was designed to crack the viola jones algorithm and make itself completely invisible to the eyes of AI, enhancing a new architectural practice of futuristic façade aesthetics, A diversified field of architectural facades. These facades can help bridge the line of duality between Real space and augmented spaces enhancing a snapchat-like digital alliance. This project is based on Wolfflins ideology of a human face building façade juxtaposition that envisages the radical comparison of human facial aesthetics to that of a building facade. Please do use your mobile phone camera at this project façade image. The Camera will detect a human face which will be portrayed in your mobile phone as a square yellow box. Architectural Drawings - Green Dazzle Throughout human history there has always been a medium of communication of information from one generation to the other in the most simple and abstract ways. From the very initial Luscaux Cave some 20,000 years ago. But the whether these ideas of diagrams came from realism? Or a reality imagination bridge has always been a question of speculation. But in architecture diagrams are either denoted to tell an idea or represented a constructed reality. Like Peter Eisenmans Red Ribbons, Daniel Libeskind’s Micromegas, chamber works, sonnets in Babylon, These are my diagrammatic representations from which I assemble and disassemble my ideas of architectural dogma. These are the foremost diagrams that construct the idea of the end product, A digital canvas to establish a fabric of divergence that can entrall the idea of diversity and psychology of a process that can be incorporated into the genre of massing, design, representation and subjectivity. I would like to call them the “Green Dazzle”

Architectural Objects Architectural Objects is a speculative experiment to understand the evolution of architectural designs through the design of objects. This exploration envisages the upbringing of unexplored realms of architectural masses which gives birth to individual styles, taking it towards the genre of Object-oriented ontology of Graham Harman. Individual objects/ parts coming together to form a whole which establishes the architectural relationship of part to whole through kitbashing (if required). Aligning it with my academy exploration of symbiotic masking and regionalism we give birth to different ideas of speculative regional futurism. Which brings this idea of gamifying spaces and what would have happened if every individual civilization had its own style of architecture going, the various pinnacles of masses that could have been achieved by various civilizations when they are made to flourish and reach new heights of ornamental and massing ideas.

Artificial Simulations - Symbiosis Artificial Simulations is a speculative experiment that brought in various genres of surface simulations of growth. The symbiotic co-existence of Object Drives surfaces which is the Guest and Primitive Individual Masses (Host) the co-existence and relativity of various scales of artificial surface-oriented simulations that can enthral new methodology of looking into form, space, order and aesthetics. Creating various little subcultures in surface articulation and simulations. The surface aesthetics were inspired from various subcultures and daily objects that they use. To test the limits of one’s visual exploration was the main idea behind this exploration and students came out with some really interesting self-simulated aesthetic explorations. This was devised for the foundation studio (first year students) to understand the various genres of architectural design and authenticities of self.

Vertical Studio The vertical studio was an assemblage of studio 5 and studio 3’s sustainability team where they design an architectural building and find ways to make the building sustainable by the usage of modern day materials and applications. This helped the design ideas of the fifth year studio and the subjective knowledge of the third year studio to collaborate. Since I handled both the classes, The contemporary massing techniques like kitbashing were employed in the massing stages and establishing the idea of regional futurism and also students used the old school ideas of sustainable processes that can be incorporated into these buildings to make them self reliant. This was a major collaboration of two different students with different levels of ideas and understanding of the same subject trying to establing a line of duality between them. And this was me trying to orchestrate a digital turn in the academy.
