The plot for this house sits in a densely populated locality. The major concern was finding an intimate space in the crowd and arriving at a visually engaging structure amidst the chaotic background. The client’s brief called for a simple and a spacious house for a family of five.

The residence was to be designed for a couple, their parents and a son, which provided generous comfort and luxury. The clean, bold lines forms the characteristic language of the house. The house is linear that runs along the east-west axis and divided among public and private spaces. Rajasthan features extreme temperatures in both summer and winters, so the house is designed such that minimal heat penetrates but at the same time providing maximum natural light and ventilation. With no above floor level above the house expands on ground, housing five bedrooms, a lavish living and a luxurious swimming pool that overlooks the family area. The traditional chinikhana at the backdrop of the pool blends firmly with the contemporary form of the building leading it a very urban look. The main door opens up to a passage that runs along the axis of house in windward direction, connecting every space of the house. The parents bedroom and the master bedroom has been designed as to provide the privacy and near to the family area thus respecting the relations.
11
SITE at residential colony with parks nearby
ADAPTION a rectangular form is adapted as per site and placed away from the busy road
PASSAGE a wide passage runs along the building, providing light ventilation and access to all other spaces
SEGREGATION-INTEGRATION public, private spaces are segregated but placed together to make whole one unit.
ACHIEVE bedroom and living spaces are extruded as to provide views to garden and adapt to the wind movement.

RESORT DESIGN A LEISURE SPACE AT KNOLL Session Guide Location
: Semester IV : Ar. Nischal Jain : Viratnagar
37
The site for this resort lies on the foothills of Beejak Pahadi, Viratnagar near the Sariska wildlife reserve. Viratnagar captures a great history as it was once a residing place for the Pandu Putras from the Indian Epic ‘Mahabharat’ and the Beejak Pahadi holds above the archaeological site, Remains of Buddha monastery.
38
jayant meena | architecture portfolio
The site shares its views with the Aravalli Ranges away from the road. The resort goes beyond the primary purpose of providing hospitality with modern amenities at a scenic location, and seeks to generate employment for the local population also, and raises concerns related to its social, regional and environmental context. The city being a host to many heritage sites, will act as a catalyst for tourism. The idea was to develop with an objective of attaining peace as whole and provide an sensory experience. The perfection, godliness and spirituality associated with a circle leads me to a idea of sacred geometry and the centre of site has been kept for recreational area and rest spaces has been radially planned around it.

I captured this apartment from my house back in the 3rd semester at Architecture school. Despite the muddled up thoughts inhabiting my brains, this wall fascinsted me. My head perceived it as one vast canvas where I could pour the thoughts that hit me.
