Note from Organizers Foreword Organizer’s Speed Typing Contest
To all Speed Typists. It has been a great honor to be able to organize such an event and to be one of the first generation to witness the birth of Typing Day. It is certainly no ordinary feat to be one of the top typists for our event as there are many competitive hands. With the feeling of sweat in our palms, we type to the top hierarchy and through this sweat we battle to achieve the top of the top in the live event of the Speed Typing Contest. As for the others who are still catching up, you stand in a crowd of fastest typists today, witnessing an event unfolding in front of your eyes as time chases the typists’ fingers. Speed typing no doubt has crept into our life, its presence not to be belittled.. We in the committee team continues to strive to instill awareness in all generations, young and old alike, the importance of typing fast with near 100% accuracy.
Brought to you by, Dedicated team of STC

Organization Information About Speed Typing
(3) About Speed Typing
Speed Typing Contest
Typing is the process of inputting text into a device, such as a typewriter, cell phone, computer, or a calculator, by pressing keys on a keyboard. It can be distinguished from other means of input, such as the use of pointing devices like the computer mouse, and text input via speech recognition. The world's first typist was Lillian Sholes from Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Christopher Sholes, the man who invented the first practical typewriter. User interface features such as spell checker, auto-complete, and auto-replace serve to facilitate and speed up typing and to prevent or correct errors the typist may make. Speed (Words per minutes)
Accuracy (Effective Communication)
Words per minute, commonly abbreviated wpm, is a measure of input or output speed.
Effective communication is a two-way process sending the right message, that is also being correctly received and understood by the other person/s.
For the purposes of WPM measurement a word is standardized to five characters or keystrokes. For instance, "I run" counts as one word, but "rhinoceros" counts as two. "Let's talk" would also be considered two words because the space key counts as a keystroke. One benefit of a standardized measurement of input speed is that it enables comparison across language and hardware boundaries.
For communication to be effective, it is important to understand how the people you are interacting with may interpret your message. We obtain information through our senses, and it is therefore recommended that your communication includes aspects of the visual, auditory and kinesthetic language to appeal to all listeners.
