APIDEMIC / BRANDING
Apidemic’s aim is to improve high school education for all Australians, it was founded on the notion that our education system needed a fundamental change in it’s structure for students to find their calling in life and reach their potential. This identity was designed to capture the imagination of the school community.
The logo draws hints towards literal objects such as a book and a pencil; key tools in education. The A symbol can be interpreted as an arrow (forward thinking), a beginning (the first letter of the alphabet) or the mountain of knowledge.
The schooling community is Apidemic’s target audience, thus it will include both a young and old demographic. It was a priority to make the identity legible, clean, friendly and approachable.
APIDEMIC / EVERYBODY IS A GENIUS
Genius is defined as a person who has exceptional intellectual ability, creativity, or originality, typically to a degree that is associated with the achievement of unprecedented insight.
of intelligence has been skewed towards subjects, such as science and mathematics, thus the value of other forms of intelligence in Australia are undervalued.
There is no scientifically precise definition of genius, and the question of whether the notion itself has any real meaning, has long been a subject of debate. However, society’s view
The A2 poster was designed to attract interest towards the organisation ‘Apidemic’; (an organisation whose aim is to improve high school education for all Australians.)
It achieves this through strong & simple imagery of a quote from Albert Einstein: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

To celebrate the success of Pablo & Rusty’s Specialty Coffee, t-shirts were given out at the Christmas Party. The t-shirts are frequently worn by the baristas both in and outside the cafe. They became so popular, they started selling them online, building brand awareness & loyalty. The graphic I created was inspired from my favourite childhood cartoons. The overlapping lines and gloves give the illustration a playful and retro look. The hands are holding a freshly brewed cup of coffee and a filter used by the baristas.
The Revolution Conference is an evangelistic event aimed at high school aged students. Their aim is to advance the momentum of the gospel beyond youth ministry and see a whole generation to rise up that will make a lasting impact to churches and society. The t-shirt graphic worn by leaders of the event depicts the Lion of Judah, an important symbol representing Jesus.
BETH JOY PHOTOGRAPHY
Beth Joy is a Sydney-based nature, wedding and portraits photographer who loves capturing creation and those very special moments in peoples’ lives.
Inspired by the work of Ken Duncan, Beth picked up a camera and hasn’t looked back. Through years of selfteaching and experimenting, Beth has earned the respect of the community.
The logo is designed to give photos room to breathe; it doesn’t distract your eyes from enjoying the photography. The identity’s aim is to be elegant, professional yet approachable.
TUT TUT TYPOGRAPHY
Tut tut is a typography project inspired by an abstract street dance known as Tutting. Similar to many other free forms you see in modern offshoots of breakdancing, the dance itself was inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphics, the name derived from Tutankhamen.
Each letter-form was individually photographed and cut out to create an uppercase, lowercase, numeral and punctuation set.

SPEARS & SPIRITS
Culture Cut is a conceptual poster campaign, alerting residents to the inevitable culture change that high rise buildings would bring to Ashmore. Problems such as increased traffic, overshadowing and overpopulation were all taken into account. The posters are printed with UV ink so that the design will change depending on the light/temperature.
An Illustration for a book cover called ‘Spears & Spirits’. The illustration used a combination of traditional and digital techniques. The linework was drawn with a pencil, the dress was created using watercolours and the lips using the reference photo.

Jayki is an apparel company that I founded at the age of eighteen. It was born from a simple dream to create art + design for a living. I wanted to create a brand that represented something pure. A simple message to stay creative, stay thankful and stay positive. I grew up wanting to be an artist but I really didn’t know where to begin. Eventually I found something I was deeply passionate about, Graphic Design. Unfortunately, I didn’t handle high school very well as I would think and dream about only the future; forgetting to enjoy the present. So I left high school and attended a design college where the next stage of my life began. H I D D E N M E S S A G E S O N T H E B A C K O F H E M TA G S
Over the past years I’ve learnt a lot from my past failures and successes. While a lot about me has changed, some things will always be true. One such thing is a desire to stay creative and hopefully impact the world in a positive way. Jayki has shipped to over 10 countries, I’ve learnt plenty since starting the business and it’s brought joy to myself and others.

GIRLS / ALBUM ARTWORK
A redesign of the album art and packaging for ‘Album’ by the band Girls. It features a double pop-up CD case and album art with hand drawn lyrics. It explores themes of psychedelic or altered experience, love and loss. The typography is distorted and messy; it could almost be out of a journal. The distorted text implies a loss of memory or trying to remember a past event or relationship.
HTRK POSTER
Tragedy struck on 18 March 2010 when Stewart (HTRK’s bass player) was found dead in his London home from suspected suicide. Speculation on the Australian music website Mess+Noise was later confirmed in a statement sent
to the media. NME published an obituary on 24 April 2010 with tributes from Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner and The Horrors’ Faris Badwan. HTRK continued to remain active with a comeback shows & started to record again.
This poster design comes from a dark place, reflecting some of the imagery described in the lyrics of HTRK’s new album “Work (work, work).”

The Gate is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to host, showcase and support great independent live music in a region of Sydney that doesn’t really see much of it: the broad spread of the North Shore through to the Western Suburbs. As a following rapidly grew, so did The Gate’s focus to increase in scope. Since the early backyard gigs, the shows have expanded their locations to coffee shops, warehouses, rooftops, churches and more. The Gate attempts to bring new things to live music. Often avoiding established venues, instead preferring to see the world as a blank canvas. The Gate chose any corner of our day-to-day environment, recognising
the potential for meaningful connections between artists and enthusiasts. Their efforts have supported and fostered a creative community that is excited to appreciate music in new places. This is meeting a great need, as it is increasingly difficult to host music events at traditional venues thanks to escalating costs & restrictions. The posters I’ve designed for the events feature unique themes and colours, to cater for The Gate’s ever changing lineup of artists. You can usually guess what type of music will be playing just based on the poster. This is crucial as many artists are unknown and have a unique sound.
