CEO/PRESIDENT ERIC J. LUND ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION AFTER FIVE YEARS WITH THE CHAMBER The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce has accepted the resignation of CEO Eric J. Lund, effective January 11, 2019, after five years with the organization. Lund has accepted an opportunity with another organization. “It has been my honor to serve the local communities, the members, the Chamber Board and our team to improve our region and businesses and I am so appreciative of their strong support throughout my time with the chamber,” said Lund. “Eric will be missed by our board, staff and members,” said Board Chair Stacy Mackey. “Yet through his leadership, he is leaving the organization in a very strong position. We are blessed with the confidence that we have an effective process in place to fill this key position. In the interim the Chamber’s Office and Membership Development Manager, Jonda Cvek, with the Support of the Board Chair will help ensure a smooth transition and will oversee staff, programs and projects to ensure they are supported and continue successfully.” Some of the business programs started or supported by Lund during his tenure include the East County Homeless Task Force, Refer East County, Shop East County,

“The Chamber’s vision is to provide leadership to improve business competitiveness,” Mackey added. “The Board and I know that during Eric’s five-year term he played a key role in realizing that vision. When he took the helm, we had gone through a very difficult recession and have since emerged with more members and a stable financial footing, as well as overcome challenges to rebuild the organization into a premier operation that benefits the members and community. Eric has also established a high level of integrity, ethics and transparency and has helped to regain the confidence of the business community.” and respect for the great work our Board of Directors and Staff have done as they strive to support and help our business community grow and improve for the future.
Senator Brian Jones Takes Key Leadership Roles and Committee Assignments for His Constituents
State Capitol – The California State Legislature begins work for its 2019-2020 session today with each legislator being assigned to serve on a number of committees. Senator Brian Jones (R-Santee) is assigned to five committees and one subcommittee. He is the Vice Chair of the Insurance Committee as well as the Natural Resources and Water Committee. In this role, Jones serves as second-in-command, presides over the committee if the Chair is absent and represents the Republican Caucus position on committee issues. The other committees Jones has been assigned to are Appropriations, Budget and Fiscal Review, Government Organization and Budget Subcommittee #2 on Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation. “These committees deal with issues that are crucial to the people of the 38th Senate District such as fire insurance, water and the state budget,” stated Jones. “Discussions that happen in committees shape bills to fit the needs of California, and I am eager to work with my chairpersons and fellow members in these important committees to make sure that we move forward the good bills and stop the ones that hurt Californians.”
May you and your families thrive in the New Year.
Here is Jones’ full committee assignment: • Insurance (Vice Chair) • Natural Resources and Water (Vice Chair) • Appropriations • Budget and Fiscal Review • Governmental Organization Budget Subcommittee #2 on Resources, Environmental Protection, Energy and Transportation

It was a tremendous way to launch my professional career and I am grateful for everything I Est. 1998 learned.
